  1. I don't get the Baron idea...when I hear the world "Baron" some old German guy with a beard and fancy clothes or something.
  2. He's not as bad a pitcher as half the board makes him out to be.
  3. I agree. The logo looks like the most generic thing possible.
  4. I think they should still let people carry in water and stuff. But I guess their argument would be that there are public water fountains all over the park anyway. Really, we usually just carry in a couple water bottles and maybe some peanuts or pistachios. We either tailgate before the game, or get a brat or whatever inside.
  5. Well, the irony with A-Rod is that he was involved with a controversial home run decision earlier in the year. It looked like it hit not the foul pole itself, but the metal "netting" that hangs of the pole. I only saw it a couple times, though.
  6. I'm not worried about them. They don't have the depth to have a Rockies-esque late season run.
  7. Well, I guess I still have to be pretty skeptical, but the return of Gallardo to the team in any form would definitely be a huge boost.
  8. Come on...do they really think even a new stadium is going to solve their problems? Get them out of Florida already.

  11. Wow, I was helping some customers, and I come back and look at the score. I guess I'm glad this game isn't on TV or I probably would've been cursing.

  13. I am glad they are actually going to sit Fielder today.
  14. I remember Brian Anderson talking on the radio during spring training, and he said that they planned to have pretty much every game in HD in '09.
  15. I don't think anyone really thinks he's a bum and that the Brewers should throw in the towel on him. The numbers say that he's been horrible at the plate in the last two or three weeks, though. I really think just sitting the guy for a day or two couldn't hurt. I mean, when he came up last night and immediately grounded into a DP with Braun on second...that is just not consistent with how he's performed in the past. Just looking at the guy, it seems like he's really reaching at the plate. Some kind of adjustment has to be made.
  16. I totally agree with this. Give him a day or two off to just get his mind out of this "slump". The problem is, who do you start at 1B then?
  17. More junk in the outfield, eh? Oh well, more money for the Crew, I guess.
  18. Not only did I have to suffer the intolerable heat sitting in the third base terrace level at MP yesterday, but Sheets leaves a game early, once again. Is there any doubt this guy is less than an ideal #1 starter at this point? Yes, when he's on, he's good...but come on. I thought acquiring Sabathia would make him step up a little more, but he really hasn't looked dominate at all in the last couple months.
  19. One thing to remember, you can't "spot lose" body fat. Sometimes people tend to focus on working out a specific body part (like the abs) thinking that will reduce their waistline. The only thing that will reduce your flab is lowering your body fat percentage. This is primarily achieved through reducing caloric intake, and doing cardio exercise, whether that's jogging, using a bike, whatever. Building muscle can help you burn more calories long term as well, as others have pointed out.
  20. http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/r/roadwarriors/04.jpg That's what I thought of when I saw the topic. Anyway, yes, it's quite impressive what the Brewers have been able to do on the road. It helps when they're beating and sweeping the teams they should be able to handle, when it seems like in the past they would sometimes drop games they really shouldn't be on the road.
  21. Anything that might slow down the Cubs just a little is fine with me.
  22. Yep, a legend in the business of pro wrestling. Not much more to say than what you wrote there.
  23. It's really hard to point to any one problem with Fielder. I do think he has probably gained at least some weight since last year, but how much or how it has effected his play is really impossible for anyone here to say. It sometimes feels like he's swinging for the fences with every at bat, instead of just letting his natural strength propel the ball like he seemed to last year.
  24. Yeah, but if one of the kids got seriously hurt, the property owners would probably have to pay for it.
  25. Also, didn't Selig want the Astros to change leagues in the past, and they balked, or am I thinking of something else?
