  1. They can't take him out right now, because that sends a message to the starters that "hey, don't worry, if you throw like garbage early in the game, the bullpen will always just bail you out." Davis' job is to throw a good game in the early innings. Taking him out isn't going to fix anything at this point.
  2. 7:40 PM start time locally. Is that to help out the LA commuters, or what? LA fans get to the game late and leave early anyway, so what does it matter to them when the game starts? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. That felt like a kick to the stomach.
  4. Brewers gotta do something on offense at some point tonight, right?
  5. What was with Sheets tonight? He didn't look like himself out there at all.
  6. Well, Moeller has been moderately hot lately with the bat, so it's not unwarranted that Yost thought leaving him in was a good idea.
  7. Yeah, how do you score 20 runs in two days and lose _both_ games? That's nuts. I was at the game last night...started out hot, and by the end it was depressing to be there.
  8. Looks like we might see Turnbow yet tonight after all.
  9. Pettite's done, yay. Is it just me, or has someone at FSN been very slow to update the base runner "map" and line score at the top of the screen so far this year? It's kind of irritating when you know there's no runner on third (for example), and it takes them like 30 seconds to change it. Just a pet peeve of mine.
  10. Ah...well, it sounded like Yost didn't have any good options, other than maybe having Moeller pinch hit (which would've been weird). At least Cappy tried to beat the throw to 1st on that dropped third strike.
  11. Just don't get swept tomorrow, Brewers. This road trip has been painful enough. You just sense that this team is waiting to bust loose and go on another win streak, but the little things keep getting them. Man, if only Davis hadn't gotten blown up tonight.
  12. Well, let's go Billy. Time to have a moment like you did in April '04.
  13. Gross gets the walk, and the go ahead run is at the plate.
  14. Well, hope springs eternal. Never say die, and all that.
  15. Yeah, they'll end up at 82-80...we should see them make the playoffs in 5-10 years at this rate :P Let's go Brewers...turn those bats to "on."
  16. I turned off my TV. Listening to the game on my radio in the office. I couldn't stand watching the game anymore and listening to Darron and Bill's bland commentary (I like them, but they aren't interesting to listen to while watching the Brewers get routed).
  17. I'm all for letting guys work things out, but when you get past the sixth inning and you're still down, is it so bad to let someone pinch hit for a guy who's done nothing at the plate today?
  18. Maybe they should stop sucking. That could be a good game winning strategy right there.
  19. I'd like to see Yost get slightly more aggressive with taking guys out of games when they're not performing. That goes with the offense too, not just the pitching. If one guy is pitching badly over three or four innings, give the bullpen the chance. That's why they're there. If one guy strikes out three times in one game, let someone else play his position.
  20. Why does everyone on this board keep acting like a guy who is not even 30 years old is probably never going to have a good year again? It's as if every time a player hits 29, according to quite a few people on this board, the Brewers should trade him immediately. Where does the re-building end??? Last I checked, there have been more than a few MLB players who have had quite successful careers past the age of 30, and they weren't all being paid A-Rod type salaries...
  21. Oh boy...here we go again. Someone wants to move Overbay to left field, despite the fact that Doug Melvin has repeatedly stated Overbay won't be moving to a different position. He's a 1B, everyone. He doesn't have the tools to play a different position consistently.
  22. I don't know...I wouldn't have minded seeing him brush up on his defense more, but I suppose he can work on that over the winter with his personal trainng (assuming he's doing stuff), or in spring training at the worst.
