  1. A very good problem to have soon, with our starting MLB catcher young and under team control for a while and this prospect quickly rising. Quero likely will never back up at the MLB level for any length of time, he needs to play every day at this point. When truly ready we could see a platoon between the two for a bit, until one is traded for a nice haul.
  2. Frelick is a natural lead off hitter. If I were to include one of my 3 young outfielders in a trade (Weimer, Frelick, Mitchell) Frelick would be off limits. The guy I would quietly be trying to move is Yelich. Adames and Burnes need to go, and the return for the two of them big. Of course, what drives a trade involving any of them is return in the end. Not enough return, no trade. With no Burnes and Woody in the lineup next year for us we need to bring back Miley to go with what we already have in the mix (or will have) (Peralta, Houser, Gasser, Ashby, Rea) and add a proven veteran starter. And a slugger, if we are to compete next year.
  3. If it's money pay the man. It's likely something else if CC leaves us. I think both sides want it settled soon, if he leaves the Brewers need to get in the mix and get their guy.
  4. Looking forward to seeing him in a Brewers uniform. He will be at some point this coming year if not right away.
  5. I liked the 3rd baseman taken right after Wilken better, but considering the money involved and what the Brewers were able to do with it a great pick it was. Wilken at the same time has exceeded my best expectations. Looks like a home run potential here, pun intended.
  6. Again, a player with obvious hit tools who simply needs to continue to grow and take steps if he is to ever become a MLB player. Much less a MLB star. A lot to like at this point, I think it likely he stays in Appleton all next year or maybe making it to AA very late and only if they have the need.
  7. Seems to have a text book and effortless swing, the potential jumps out. Now grow it. We shall see.
  8. Great write up on a player who I expect to end up next year at Double A. He seems advanced and baseball mature in so many ways. I see more of a 3rd base stick than 2nd, if he stays infield.
  9. The trade of Hader was simply very bad timing, but a great trade in the long term picture. Essentially Contreras, Payamps, and Gasser for Hader and what was left of his contract. Great trade for Milwaukee. Now we need the same magic in the trades we will make in the off season.
  10. I was really hoping for an extension with Woody that would be team friendly, essentially a futures contract with play incentives. Will they even bid an arbitration number now?
  11. Depending on what your medical people think about his long term future I think you try to extend Woody with an incentive based contract based on play. Something both sides can accept. Burnes is gone regardless, trade him to the highest bidder. Sure bring him into the start of the season if you don't get offered enough but I believe they will. Adames likely gone in a trade too, again if we get offered enough otherwise he starts the season with us. Those two will bring a real quality load in return. And that's what small market teams need to do in order to compete at some point unfortunately. This isn't the NFL where you have parity based hard caps. Thanks Bud for selling us out to the union and the big market owners.
  12. Great break down of talent. Looking forward to the next edition!
  13. Surprised Mitchell did not make the roster. Very glad Chafin didn't.
  14. I like the idea of adding Black if possible. Pretty tight last spot or two though...
  15. Excellent break down. A ton to absorb and I loved it all. You not only have data to share but your writing puts you at the ball game. Well done sir!
  16. Lots of decisions for this team in the off season and he will be one of them.
  17. They do need to do something. This isn't it. They have multiple better options at Triple A.
  18. This team fights. The splash of young talent and energy is a great motivator. We need our very top players, and I don't need to name them, to be on top of their game. Some have been, some have not. Unless something changes, and it can, we'll never get past the Braves or the Dodgers.
  19. I hate rentals, so that's heavy on me. Santana has a few months to show something, something we may have gotten from somebody already in the organization. Severino may not hit, but if he does we're looking at a decade or more. I didn't even like the Sabathia trade as good as he was. A short term rental for a lottery ticket in Brantley who turned out to be a top bat for a decade.
  20. Front office tried a band aid in adding Canha and Santana, overpaying for sure on Santana. Either Adames has to start hitting or he has to start sitting long term. We have a couple guys the team needs to count on earning their check at the plate, the rest stink. The fix has to be with those other players stepping up, or adding farm club players to sit them. Even if Mitchell can return how soon will he really be ready and back to form?
  21. Hated the Santana rental for what we gave up. 4 years from now it could really become a debacle, Severino is for real.
  22. What a great very in depth write up. Very glad I found this site! Look forward to much more on the farm this and coming years...
  23. I think Turang is our SS for a long term. I believe at some point Adames will be moved. Even if Adames stays so will Turang, at 2b.
  24. The team needs Adames to quickly find his bat again, or as the year drags on they need to sit him in spurts. IF they can get value in December they need to move him. If not, roll another year and see where he and the team are at in July.
