    I guess it all comes down to value for Adames. I believe the return for Burnes was well worth it. We got is worth based on 1 year of control. I would trade Adamas if we could get his worth, keep him for now otherwise. I believe some team will step up, and then we need to move him. The Brewers need to bring in a starting caliber pitcher. I'd love to see Snell or Montgomery, but they must bring in a quality starter of some kind. A Houser type maybe if they can't swing a long term contract with one of the above mentioned. Either thru trade or whatever FA may still be out there.

    Brewers front office has done all they can do with the salary constraints they have. It is absolutely pathetic that teams like the Dodgers, Yankees, Mets and several others can do. If you want to fix MLB then mandate a hard cap like the NFL has. That ship has sailed. When TV viewership is strictly pay for streaming I will have watched my last game.

    Wow, imagine it if we could bring in Chapman. My fear is we'll be just hanging on by a thread in July for contention so won't deal Burnes or Adames at all.

    Hoskins gives us a nice bridge into this year and possibly the next. A lineup changer for sure. The team still needs to improve its hitting beyond this, and I'm still waiting for that improvement to be brought in with a Burnes trade. Looking unlikely for the right now. If he's moved in July it could be for not ready prospects. I really like a trade with Baltimore right now bringing us a young bat at 3rd who is ready but blocked, but it takes two to tango. Sometimes it takes 3.

    It's a fine line between framing and catcher interference. Contreras crossed that line a couple times last year. No doubt Haase can improve and he will have limited chances to show it.

    I want to see Turang as the starting SS, because I hope we can get a load for Adames now. If not, for sure 2nd base. I believe the bat can improve soon, and the D is spectacular.

    I would not LOOK to move any of these young cheap controllable guys, but of course their names can come up in trade talks. If we truly are going to start the season with both Burnes and Adames it's likely we'll start it with them on board too.

    IF the Brewers can get a loaded enough offer they really need to move Burnes before the start of the season. Moving Adames in the same scenario would be nice, but more important with Burnes. But ONLY if we get the return. Otherwise we revisit this in May with an eye on July.

    For now unless we add a sure thing Black can likely start at 3rd now. Wilken is a year or two out for that shot. Black might have a long term future at a different position but can certainly cover 3rd for us better than any other option we have at the moment.

    Don't trade the farm for any one player, especially with 2 years of control or less. Small market teams need to be always looking to improve any way they can but also always to be looking to trade FOR farm.

    The whole off season hinges on two names. Burnes and Adames.

    The problem isn't with the owner. The problem is with MLB as a whole. Good ol Bud Selig sold the small market teams out to the power union and the big market owners, all for a chance to sit on their lap and collect millions for himself. The Angels make more money from TV contracts before selling 1 ticket or hot dog than the Brewers do from TV contracts, parking, concessions, ticket sales and anything else they can do. It is not a fair playing field. No owner is going to spend to create a loss, but when you have teams like the Yankees and Mets and Dodgers etc etc able to spend 2 times or more because of this disparity you have the mess we have today in MLB. The NFL has shown the right path with hard caps and parity being the rule of the land. Blame Bud Selig, not our owner. Thanks Bud!

    I'd love to see him back, some team will make it happen with a 2 or 3 year deal. The only way a team like the Brewers can do it is with a team favorable deal. It is possible.

    It is best for all if the Brewers can get a fair return now for Burnes, and Adames. If you can't then by all means start the season with them, but trade them now if the compensation is enough to warrant it.

    Horrible return for Burnes and the Twins will not be players for him.

    Agreed. My guess is Yelich told them to forget it about a move to 1st, otherwise it makes perfect sense if he could play there. We have the young guns to fill the outfield, I'd just DH Yelly and find a right handed power bat to come off the bench. Among a number of other moves they need to make for the now and future.......

    It would be a fallback move. If nothing else developed only and he could be had for a reasonable 1 year deal. I agree Wes Clarke will have to start the year at Triple A and go from there with a possible call up that could be permanent. He has to prove he's there first though. I hope for 1 FA vet to be added that would make a difference at the plate and maybe 1 FA starting pitcher. If not one or both, the Burnes and/or Adames trades would have to bring both help for the future and some help right now.

    My hopes since this trade does nothing (but free up lint dust from the Dodgers/Mets/Yankees type pocket money) for us this year is that it is a precursor to soon to be made positive moves that will help us this year AND down the road. I guess that would be to sign at least one substantial FA and a trade moving either Burnes or Adames. Or both.

    Stearns continues to make great trades, this time against us instead of for us. OK owner and front office, now sign a far better FA pitcher than Houser. For starts.

    Had Tommy John this last summer? We give up a MLB quality back of the rotation starter and Taylor? For a guy who likely will not help us this year? This shocked me when I read it. How likely are we to trade Burnes now?

    After losing Caratini I was concerned about a backup catcher. Worries alleviated. Quero needs to catch every day and I don't believe he will ever be a back plan for any length of time. When he is clearly ready the Brewers will have a prime trade piece, either he or Contreras will go for a windfall.

    Pass on all of them. Of the three, the last one is a scenario worth considering IF no better offers were made by other clubs but even then forget adding the CB pick and I'd want another younger but upper level prospect from them. Baltimore, Atlanta, Toronto, etc etc all make more sense than the Dodgers involving Burnes. If we can't get want we feel we should get for either Burnes or Adames let's start the season with them and keep talking to teams right up to the trade deadline if need be. No fire sale here.

    I like our young guns. We need to get treasure for Adames and Burnes rather than letting them walk for a comp pick. Whether it's now or later will depend on return...

    OK deal. Understandable and may indeed pay off to some extent. We've seen a number of small underwhelming moves so far and that was to be expected. We are nearing the time where we will make a few bigger moves. The fanbase awaits...
