I campaigned for a legit starter back in January. That being said I only trade for one if it makes long term sense. No rentals unless they are crazy cheap. I give up prospects with long term control only for vets with some control as well. I don't give up any top guns. Include a MLB ready player if need be with developing prospects. Maybe someone like Uribe with a couple long range guys who we don't have lot invested in for a starter. In other words, find a deal for a pitcher who is ready to go or forget it. Do not reach.

When ready I'd have Mitch with an extended stay at Triple A to get his timing down. When he's been killing it there for a while bring him up, and unless you were going to do away with Bauers it would be either Jackson or Sal going to Triple A. I think both those young players would benefit with some time down there to work on things.
-
I think you give Mitch an extended time at Triple A to let him get comfortable and when he's killing it there move him up playing a little center when Perkins needs a day off or in platoon but mostly I'd send him to the corner for now. In my mind Perkins has earned his stay in center, his glove is just too good. Mitch can platoon with Frelick and Yelli. Again, for now. If we must to make room for him, when ready, we'd send Frelick down to work on things.

Is It Time To Option Jackson Chourio To Nashville?
Trax replied to Harold Hutchison's topic in Brewer Fanatic Front Page News
"Mitchell has a tremendous opportunity once he returns." That's the guy. I think unless he continues easing downward Perkins has earned a spot. Yeli is there. Sal or Wiemer need to get hot, and I'd bet on Sal before Wiemer. They both may have to do it at Triple A at some point. Hicklen has been super hot of recent but seriously doubt he's any more ready than JC, Sal, or Wiemer. -
Is It Time To Option Jackson Chourio To Nashville?
Trax replied to Harold Hutchison's topic in Brewer Fanatic Front Page News
I thought to start the year Jackson should have been at Triple A. A lot of pressure on him. I said last night watching the game with my wife Sal has really hit a sophomore slump and if it continues he could be sent down once we get healthier. Stay tuned. -
He has been great, and the Hader trade while the timing wasn't the best was a WINDFALL for the Brewers. Essentially netting Contreras and Gasser long term. Better sign Contreras to a longer term yet extension Brewers right now. Maybe the plan is to ride it out and trade him when Jeferson is ready....

Being reported Gasser is on his way up and will start tomorrow. There's one arm, congrats and good luck to the young man!

The bullpen even without Williams has been very good. With Williams one of the best in MLB. The starting pitching has actually exceeded expectations considering the people we are missing. But like the title of this article says, can it continue. I don' see how in the long run. Wilson has been great and we're getting as much from Ross as we could have expected. I said before the start of the season when we were healthier we needed at least one bonified starter yet on this team. Now, we actually need two. Hopefully we get some of our injured back sooner than expected and we don't lose any more of them. I don't see a trade happening anytime soon if at all for that needed arm.

It's Time To End The Jake Bauers Era
Trax replied to Matt Breen's topic in Brewer Fanatic Front Page News
The holes in that article are endless. Complete blither blather. Sure billionaire owners could spend all they wanted if they so chose, but again, it's a business decision. You look at contracts and revenue and you do what is right for business. not just dump undue amounts of money on the team. Why do the big market teams? Because they have that much more REVENUE. The Angels make more money on just TV contracts, before selling one ticket or hot dog or parking space, than the Brewers do with ALL means of revenue. How can we equalize that? Only through a hard cap like what the NFL has. With MLB it should be with a floor and a ceiling. As far as player development the Brewers have done a great job. The difference is when the Dodgers can spend a BILLION on two players player development isn't as crucial to them as it is to us. Teams like that can make mistake after mistake and buy their way out of it. Small market teams can not. The "revenue sharing" is a drop in the bucket and makes little difference. -
It's Time To End The Jake Bauers Era
Trax replied to Matt Breen's topic in Brewer Fanatic Front Page News
I don't think our owner is a cheap ass. I think he is a businessman playing in a very unfair field. MLB should have a cap system similar to the NFL's. Instead we have teams like the Dodgers and Yankees and Mets and several more who can never make a mistake that they can't buy themselves out of. Bud Selig sat on the lap of the big city owners and bent over for the union. Got rich doing it and invited to all the right parties he did. It is what it is. -
We need Gasser up ASAP....he's looked great but may be premature to move Misi up to the big club any time soon.

I agree Uribe overreacted big time, but Murphy didn't in either of the last two ejections. These officials need to be taken to task. If I were a manager I'd take the fine and demand accountability for the poor decisions being made on the filed. Including the wildly sporadic calling at the plate from ump to ump.

Bombers Incoming: Brewers Host New York in Big Series
Trax replied to Tommy Ciaccio's topic in Brewer Fanatic Front Page News
Going back to the old American League East days the Yankees remain my most hated team. That reason and an added hatred for all big market teams that can spend at will. Dodgers now 2nd with divisional rival Cardinals 3rd. Go Brewers!- 5 replies

Wade Miley is Injured. Now What?
Trax replied to Ryan Pollak's topic in Brewer Fanatic Front Page News
Work out Trevor Bauer. He has never been convicted of anything and has essentially been vindicated for the most part. If he looks great and he agrees to be a good mate and citizen why not sign him to a prove it deal with no risk. Somebody will, why does it have to be the Yankees or Braves.- 5 replies

Weeks was 2 briefly at some point if I remember right. I think Jackson has a much brighter potential than Weeks ever had. On multiple fronts. A great jump for him to MLB, he would have been better served at Triple A for a bit longer but I understand the need to move him up. Patience with him should be long term.

They have the best PT's, punch docs and orthopedic guys in the world. They must know exactly his issue with the back and why it reoccurs so often in such a young guy. Obviously the core isn't the issue, that they can strengthen. People decades older than he is have less trouble with a back that isn't perfect...
