  1. Just got home and Brewers / Dodgers on MLB Network and 1st pitch I seen was a HR by Vinny Capra. Yippie!
  2. He started last year with the Timber Rattlers
  3. Your right, that stuff should be learned below the age of ten, unless if it was a hit and run. I did not get to watch the game yesterday.
  4. Monasterio looks like he put on about 5-10 pounds since last season and not fat either.
  5. Bauers go's deep in the 1st for 3 runs.
  6. Correct, It was Evan McKendry.
  7. MLB.com reports. It's not clear when Black might be ready to play in games. Black already seemed unlikely to win a spot on the Opening Day roster.
  8. Tyler Black did/does the same thing also, not sure if it was corrected but I am not a fan of the massive leg kick either. It makes it harder to react and make solid contact to different speed pitches with the exaggerated leg kick. It may give you more power but the good consistent line drive contact would drop. Leg kicks were big 100 years ago when they were swinging 40 oz and 50 oz bats.
  9. Brewers Radio Milwaukee today is 94.5 FM for those interested.
  10. Dang, that was quick. lol he put on some weight.
  11. Versatility to cover in a pinch. The minor league deal will have him available at 4 or 5 different positions. A competent veteran with a career .249 avg. I'm ok with that.
  12. We will see but barrel on the ball like Freddie Freeman? Who next do we compare Tyler Black to Pete Rose?
  13. Wow, good eye find, that is exceptional against LHP. Also, Manuel Margot suffered a "right groin strain" in August 2024, forcing him to exit a game maybe accounting for his down season last year.
  14. Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports that the Brewers are signing Manuel Margot. https://www.fantasyalarm.com/mlb/teams/Brewers
  15. Tyler Black is below the MLB average in: fielding, hitting average, hitting power with a below average arm. But he is fast, I'll give him that. A Joey Wiemer type player who will have spirts of "Wow that was pretty good" but then when all is said and done back up quality at best. Even his salary is only 40K over the league minimum and no one is making calls for him that I know of to snap him away from the Brewers.
  16. I think and hope Hoskins will have a better year than last because I have never been a big fan of Tyler Black. Lets hope Ernesto Martinez Jr. gives them both a run for there money. I'll keep my fingers crossed. 😃
  17. Nester Cortes interview. https://www.mlb.com/video/nestor-cortes-on-being-traded-to-the-brewers-more
  18. Jake Bauers will be 30 years old by the end of the year in Early October. Hoskin's is 31 and one injury away from maybe ending it. So we won't let him slip away if he truly has the potential I think he does.
  19. I hope he does have a great spring training but Nashville is where he will most likely start the season just so he can play every day. He was with the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers last season but hit .284 which is great.
  20. We got lucky, High grade lat strain for Frankie Montas, Mets announced. Will be shut down 6-8 weeks, then need a full spring training.
  21. Sal Frelick lost 15 pounds during the 2024 campaign. So really he is +10 pounds from last spring training and that is feasible IMHO. He must be a guy who has trouble eating during the summer heat.
  22. Garrett Mitchell, OF, Brewers, Staying healthy is key: MLB.com Has Milwaukee Brewers Outfielder Garrett Mitchell As a Breakout Candidate For the 2025 MLB Season. Injuries have stalled Mitchell’s attempts to cement himself as the Brewers’ starting center fielder over the past two seasons. After missing most of 2023 with a left shoulder subluxation, Mitchell fractured his left index finger last spring and didn’t make his 2024 debut until July 1. However, he posted impressive numbers after returning from the injured list, recording eight homers, 11 steals and a 126 wRC+ over 224 plate appearances, while also providing plus defense in center field. His strong performance helped the Crew overcome the loss of Christian Yelich to a season-ending back injury in late July. Yelich is expected to be healthy for Opening Day, but star shortstop Willy Adames’ departure as a free agent has left a gap in Milwaukee’s lineup. Mitchell is one of the young players the Brewers will be counting on to step up as they look to replace Adames’ production in 2025. https://wisportsheroics.com/milwaukee-brewers-garrett-mitchell-breakout-2025/#google_vignette
  23. For starters Tyler Black, primarily a first baseman and Jackson Chourio are not even in the same universe as far as offensive talent go's, plus Chourio is 4 years younger. The question asked is like saying who was better Goeff Jenkins or Reggie Jackson because Goeff Jenkins had a better career batting average than Reggie Jackson. My biggest concern for Chourio is: Can he stay healthy playing every day? We should at least be comparing by positions otherwise it will turn into a comparison of 10,000 odd questions.
