I'm starting to think Manny is one of those guys who have great physical gifts, but can't put it together upstairs. So maddeningly inconsistent. -
I've always wondered if the DC market can support a team. I tend to think it cannot long term. Proximity to the Orioles aside, there are not a lot of "DC Natives." It has to be hard to establish a solid fanbase when a good portion of the population are transplants. And being in the NL takes away the Yanks/Boston games that would likely sell out at least 6 times per yr. It'll be interesting to see how that goes. The ballpark looks fantastic, and I'd like to see them become competitive.

Also with the off day tomorrow I don't have a problem with using a bit more of the pen. The 7th inning I still wasn't crazy about, but I did like that he didn't sit waiting around for Suppan to pitch out of it. Perhaps a lesson learned from the Easter Walkathon?

So... we tried a home/road platoon last year... The Brewers, on the cutting edge of starting pitching innovation, will now use Suppan every 7 days.

Is it just me, or has Prince had a ton of trouble with inside pitches? If seen a ton of called strikes on the inside corner that he backs off on. You'd think he'd take a step back considering all his power is to RF.

I think making the playoffs mellowed me out, because normally I'd be really pissed right now. Or, I've just come to expect it with this group.

Finally got my hands on Three Floyd's Gumballhead after some recommendations. Very, very good beer. It's a wheat, but not what you'd expect. The hops come through loud and clear, which gives it a great citrus finish. Dangerously drinkable summer beer. Looks like I'll be heading down to Chicago more often to pick some of this up. -
I'm not sure how workable this is, but going along with the requests for minor league info- How about a brewerfan wiki? Since some follow the minors more closely, they would have the ability to edit those pages. A Marquette fansite has one, and frankly it's pretty outstanding. http://wiki.muscoop.com/doku.php Just an idea!

I've been to the last 6 home openers, and I'd have to say this was the best "baseball crowd" of the bunch. Yes there were a lot of drunk people, but folks were into the game. I was in the LF bleachers and it was all about the game, not a lot of the typical sideshows of an Opening Day/Cubs game. Only one time did some drunks try to start the wave, and they got shut down quick. I thought it was the perfect balance of baseball and festive atmosphere. Certainly a ton of fun to be at.
