  1. "The manager's job is not to always be buddies with the players" Thank. God.
  2. Oh poop. I hate that Philly fan gets to celebrate anything.
  3. I went as Freeway a couple of years ago. This year, my friends and I are Mighty Ducks, thanks to www.ducksshirts.com Coach Bombay!
  4. http://www.speedtest.net/result/346335849.png Roadrunner.
  5. And one was Tracy Chapman "Fast Car."
  6. I couldn't be happier for the players and staff of the Rays, but their fans, and Florida fans in general tick me off to no end. Average 20,000 during the season but now all these long suffering Rays fans that come out of the woodwork now can rejoice. Makes me sick. Same with the Marlins, even when they were good, they couldn't sell the place out until the WS. Contract em both.
  7. After being at both games, here's what I got- This team is inconsistent, flawed, and infuriated me more than anyone or anything has ever in my life. And I have never had more fun watching baseball. So many memorable moments, and feelings I will never forget. Th opening day win at Wrigley, last week walk-offs, the thrill of finishing the Cubs game and the agony of waiting for the Mets result, and the pure elation that followed. Since I was a little kid I've dreamed of what it would be like to be our day in the sun. I heard stories about the Braves, and the 82 season, and how baseball brought the city to life. Finally, I've seen it, and it was exactly how I imagined it. I've never seen a ballgame like last night, where 44,000 were hanging on seemingly every pitch. The noise was deafening, the excitement and tension were palpable. I said to a friend "When people tell me baseball is just a game, they've never experienced something like this." 3 million fans, people in Brewer gear everywhere, a level of enthusiasm I never thought possible. Heck, the Brewers even trumped the Packers two Sundays in a row. Milwaukee's love affair with baseball is now rekindled, and this group is to thank. Every year there is always a twinge of sadness when the season is over for me, but today hit me like a ton of bricks. Unfortunately, we all knew it was pretty much over when they went down 5-0, and I figured that would make the end a little easier to take. But when I walked out of the park, it hit me hard that this season I'd waited so long for was over, and despite it all I didn't want it to end. This quote from Giamatti pretty much sums up where I'm at right now- "It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops." The disappointment will go away, but I'll always be grateful for the memories from this season. Thank you Crew, you made my dreams come true this year.
  8. Boom, outta here. I love facing righties. No Weeks. No Hall. Less K's, better D. Is it safe to call this one a must win? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. The '27 Yankees would have had a tough time with that changeup today. Other than the 7th they worked the count alright, but that change was devastating, and he threw a lot of them with two strikes. Would have liked to seen Nelson in the 9th, but ah well. Thought Sveum made all the right moves with the pen, and the pinch hitters paid off. He managed a good ballgame, it's too bad a routine throw to first is too tough for Rickie. BTW, I thought I was disappointed today, imagine being a Cubs fan right now. Then take a shower.
  10. I was a miserable nervous on Sunday... this is a good nervous, an excited, but confident nervous. Love the fact Gallardo is out there. Now I just have to figure out how to get out of work... GO GET EM BOYS!
  11. Did they ever say how many showed up? All I saw was thousands, no number given.

  13. "Manic Depression" by Jimi Hendrix. They were a bit bipolar this year... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. I just got back from some celebrating... what an incredible day. I'm 23, my first ballgame- Easter Sunday 87. Been hooked since I was 2, when my grandparents sat me down in front of a TV with the Brewers on and I was in love. I've been waiting for this day my whole life, and I'm not too proud to say I was wiping away tears when the final out of the Mets game was recorded. I called my Grandma about an hour or so after the game, I haven't heard her that happy since my Grandpa passed away. And to me that's the beautiful thing about baseball, how devotion for a team is passed down, and how strong that bond is. Today made all those losing seasons, all those "almost" moments worth it. I don't know how I'm gonna fall asleep tonight...

  16. That has been my tonic so far http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The Pantsless Rats show how overrated they are.
  17. I hate this team. Why do they do this to us? Suck, come back, choke, piss game away.
  18. Just worthless. Two flipping terrible ABs when they need them the most. I should have known he was done mentally when he made those comments in Philly. Headcase.
  19. Just tie it up... that's all I ask. All ya need is a fly ball JJ. You can do it with your missing thumb!
  20. no hitter no hitter no hitter no hitter no hitter hey!
