  1. Once again its up to Hart after our vaunted 3 and 4 hitters chase crap and pop out. I'm witholding my 25 votes until Braun stops chasing pitches that would hit a lefty.
  2. Brian Roberts, por favor. Weeks is helpless. He doesn't swing so much as chop at the ball. Eventually results have to outweigh potential.
  3. I gotta resurrect this thread, as I'm now looking for a 1 bedroom in the lower east side area. Not looking to spend a lot (trying to keep it in the 700 range). Have checked out some of Shorleline's buildings, and was close to taking one until I saw a couple cucarachas. Any more suggestions on apartments sans cucarachas in that area? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. Hard stuff breaking away from him= Braun has no chance.
  5. Glad to see Ned's partly full time 8th inning guy gets the job done again. Tell me Mota is a FA next year.
  6. I have a bad feeling about this one. Kinda like I did a couple Saturdays ago.
  7. Gotta love having a guy who has the mental toughness to get the job done when he doesn't have it. Nicely done, Sal.
  8. Wow is the tomahawk chop obnoxious. Even if he blows it, it was bound to happen sooner or later.
  9. Startin' to come together Pepper, startin' to come together.
  10. It's the lategame expanding strikezone... just add hunger and watch it grow.
  11. "What can you get with 20 mil..." ARGH. The Miller Lite one is terrible too.
  12. I am absolutely defeated right now. It hit me tonight- It's just not gonna happen this year. Or next, or the next... hell, it might not ever happen. I just have this feeling that I'm never going to see them win anything. From the time I was 2 on, I've lived and died with the Brewers. I probably invest more financially and emotionally in this team than just about anything. And all they do is disappoint me. Year after year. Time after time they come up with new ways to break my heart. And I can't pull myself away. I'm like the bad guys in a Jackie Chan movie, I take the roundhouse kick to the gut then get up and come back for more. I'm sick and tired of battlers, grinders, and gamers. Give me winners for God's sake. Soon.
  13. Yes I was kidding. Just making a joke about the Marlins pitiful attendance.
  14. 10 years from now 20,000 people will claim they were at the game when Jr. hit #600...
  15. Two years ago, I would have thought you were crazy if you said I'd be getting up before 7 most weekends to watch soccer. But after the 06 WC and the Simmons article, I was inspired to pick an EPL team, and try to follow it for a season to see how I liked it. I am now crazy about the game, and have become a HUGE Liverpool supporter. Even though they're "big 4," I saw a lot of similarities to the Packers. Historic stadium, steeped in tradition, and the best and most devoted supporters in Europe. I can only hope to see a match at Anfield before they move to a new ground. I gotta pull for the motherland so I'm rooting for Poland, although they looked terrible today against Germany. And of course it had to be Podolski scoring the goals. I'll also be keeping an eye on Spain with Torres, Alonso, and Arbeloa from Liverpool playing for them.
  16. I expected it, but was not a fan either. The more I think about it, Billy does have a gripe. Cameron and Hall have been basically the same player. Low average, high K's, and good HR numbers. Gwynn is hitting well at AAA, how bout a soft platoon in center? (I'm not serious, but the situations are similar in a way.)
  17. My solution is: 1) Be open to offers, but don't actively try to trade him unless there's a better RH option than Hall. Again, just because he demanded, but didn't formally demand a trade doesn't obligate the team to act. He's gonna play, and he's gonna play hard. Billy is no Sheffield, we've seen that many times. I guess I don't understand the rush in people wanting to trade him. 2) Do not trade LaPorta under any conditions (again, the Prince factor- he's a huge insurance policy). ONLY package Gamel if it is a legit, big time starting pitcher. 3) Wait until Branyan cools down. Start Billy full-time again. My Bill Hall shirts remain relevant and all is well again. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Defense is a big part of the equation, and I just don't see Dillon as a capable 3B. I like Dillon, but off the bench. He's a role player, and he's done well in that role. No need to mess with it right now.
  18. I'm with ya Snapper. The home (and Pirates) heavy schedule has a lot to do with this. Guys will cool down, they'll come back to the pack a bit. Also, don't be shocked if Fukudome's numbers take a hit now that the league has seen him once, and can figure out how to pitch him. If the Crew can get it to 4 or under by the break it is game on. They'll have some chances at home to make up ground directly later this season.
  19. This is the type of thinking I hope we are past as an organization. A lot of guys hit minor league pitching, and Dillon has next to no pop in his bat. They need that out of a 3B platoon. I guess I'm not thrilled with the idea of more "unproven guys" playing important roles on what is supposed to be a contending team. We've had enough of those.
