  1. From McCalvy's article, it seems like the area scout in Taiwan is staying with them to provide translation. I'll see if I can get Tzu-Chun's word in the offseason. His family stop by the Mandarin fanpage I'm running occasionally.
  2. Possibly because of different ball from draft league, fastball ride is slightly less impressive in his 11 innings of work.
  3. Sure move on from Ortiz and turn to a guy with worse underlying numbers both offense and defense wise.
  4. IKF is just a luckier version of Joey Ortiz, but with a worse glove. Tbh I'll be extremely disappointed if that's the trade deadline acqusition. Also not sure why we're still using road numbers to evaluate Rockies' player performance, despite the hangover effect being mentioned time and time again as the ball move differently. McMahon didn't get moved in previous seasons because he specifically told GM he wanted to stay in Denver because of his daughter and wife.
  5. Much appreciate for the recap! "twitchy" is an often seen term but I'm not entirely sure that meant. Is it ...hand quickness?
  6. Latest farm ranking from BA 11. Jadher Areinamo 12. Brock Wilken 13. Marco Dinges 14. Braylon Payne 15. Eric Bitonti I wonder where our newest pick, Andrew Fischer, will slot in. My guessing is between Payne and Bitonti? Though I think he might have the highest offensive ceiling amongst them. Also I'm browsing through unsigned draft eligible players' name with -rowski just for fun. Then I found Ryland Zaborowski, who has the second highest ISO out of SEC behind only Fischer. Though he's on the older side of the class and there's some hole in his swings.
  7. It's actually less fly ball to center as it is blue.
  8. Andrew Vaughn's batted ball profile for the past few years. 2022 2023 2024 His batted ball profile is part of the reason why he always underperforms his expected stats. Since joining Nashville you can spot the approach difference. (Launch angle is not there yet though or ...maybe it's by design?)
  9. Hardin is one whiff away from doing something funny today.
  10. Since 5/11 Tate Kuehner is actually quite underrated, if he's able to limit the control issue from time to time, he's gonna be a contributor in the big leagues๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ‘‡Below is the qualified AA LHP in the same time span.
  11. Latest eight start for Brett Wichrowski. Control is a lot better lately, and he is better than average in terms of generating whiffs(Whiff%/Swstr%). But the strikeouts are low because he struggles to put hitters away. ๐Ÿ‘‡AA League RHP
  12. Curves average over 3000 RPMs and 72% of them end up in called strike or whiffs, that'll play!
  13. Not sure if it's being mentioned by others before, but it seems like Seigler occasionally switch to left hand side when facing LHP lately. But at 06/11, 06/17 he still batted from right hand side, I wonder if he's still experimenting to see if he will eventually ditch switch-hitting.
  14. Same guy that tweeted this๐Ÿค”
  15. Full "X" thread at the tweet shown here, including video and some brief data - Remember when I said there were Brewers' scouts seen in Taiwan about a week ago? Two players signed with Brewers today, which would be the first time ever in franchise history that they signed Taiwanese players. The last time a Taiwanese player ever played for Brewers was Wei-Chung Wang from 2014-2017(Oops that one didn't end well...)
  16. Additionally, here's some plot for visualization. Hayden Robinson As there's no release point or spin axis data to confirm it, not sure if the inconsistent shape is deliberate or not. Griffin Tobias Pitch tagging is a hot mess in this one, but he's likely in the three fastballs mold as well.
  17. From three ACL games with statcast, ranked by age. It is nice to see that there's already a handful of kids(or specifically Handelful?) with gaudy max exit velo for their age.
  18. A random news a week ago for y'all. So basically Brewers scouts were seen in high school baseball tournaments in Taiwan, my hometown. A little surprising to me cause Latin America was the main focus in international signings for the past few years. The last time they sign Asian talents traced back to 2018.
  19. Another dominant one for Crow. 45.5 Whiff% / 40 CSW% / 63.6 K-BB% against lefty today as well๐Ÿ‘€ Also on a side note, they tweaked Henderson's cutter. In both starts in June, he averaged over 3" horizontal break and less rise on that pitch compared to around 12.6 IVB, 0.3 HB in previous games. Personally I think it suits his arsenal well and functions as a better pitch to change hitter's eye level.
  20. Yup the above plot was from Tjstats as well. I've changed it to 100 pitch rolling now. I'm confident that my monthly Swing% is correct(I'll see if I have time to make a rolling one just to double check), so I'm guessing this plot from his other app is probably the correct one because it's trending downward.
  21. Not sure what's going on with his rolling plot in that app, but combined with my data and his other app, I think this one is the correct version. Meaning that Adams is quite passive lately.
  22. Popup rate is high in April, but he's probably still a little unlucky to start the season as well. A bit passive and more whiffs of late, but when he does connect the ball it is loud.
  23. Yup, I think he's gradually back to the old Hunt we all know and love. Swstr% over 16% for 4 consecutive games, which is pretty elite. Homerun problem is a bit of an issue, but I think it'll come around.
  24. Highest whiff totals for Birchard this season.๐Ÿ‘
  25. His numbers are actually more impressive than that ๐Ÿ˜ 2.90 ERA, 2.00 FIP, 29.6 K%, 5.6 BB%
