  1. I wouldn't trade Yo or Braun so if that's what it would take I would bet on Fielder and Hall as the big bats
  2. Crewin06, yes I was mistaken about Lee's OPS numbers
  3. OK, I take it back, if Counsell is worth $3 million per, than Vernon Wells is worth every penny of $17 million per...
  4. I hear you, although at least Lee had a .890 OPS 4 out of the last 5 years, and Soriano has hit 82 HR's in the last 2 years. Of course, Wells is a Gold Glover and Lee looks like he's dodging hand grenades on defense.
  5. Is Wells a bit overrated? Great years in '03 and '06, but he's a career .828 OPS guy (.899 last year, .783 in '05!) I suppose his 3 straight Gold Gloves plus his HR power gives him great value, but $17 million, is that a bit of a stretch? www.baseball-reference.co...ve01.shtml
  6. In his 20 years of playing, Cal Ripken Jr only had a couple of season where he bettered Bill Hall's SLG% of 2005, let alone 2006. And Ripken Jr never hit 35 HR's in a season. It is completely perplexing to me why anyone would want to move Bill Hall out of being the every day SS for the Brewers. Trading Hardy? That I could see...
  7. I think trading Bill Hall would be foolish unless he brings a Jake Peavy type possible Cy Young pitcher, and even then I wouldn't do it. If he is left at SS and continues to hit like in '05/'06, he is putting up Hall of Fame type numbers. You don't trade players like that, nor should you move them out of position. The only reason I could see trading him is if he's impossible to sign longterm. check out Cal Ripken Jr's stats, he had only one season where he bettered the OPS Hall had last year www.baseball-reference.co...ca01.shtml Reggie Jackson and Eddie Murray both had career OPS numbers at .842 or less
  8. Rivera needing to clear waivers does indeed change things, in my mind. I did not realize that. If that is indeed the case I would consider trading Miller.
  9. I think Miller remains a better overall Catcher than Rivera, he's definitely much better defensively and Estrada-Miller will be one of the top Catcher combinations in MLB. Is there a reason that Rivera can't start the season in AAA?
  10. Rickie Weeks is a 2B who can hit leadoff http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. I'm thinkin' he might lead the NL in home runs as a Brewer could it actually happen? Jenkins and Hardy and Miller and/or prospects for Manny?
  12. I see Corey Hart as a legit HR threat in '07, yes. While I realize that 9 HR's in about half a season's worth of At Bats in '06 is nothing to be too thrilled about, I see that number rising and Hart easily getting 25-30 HR's if he plays every day in '07. Just my opinion. I think that .796 OPS he posted last year will go up alot too
  13. Corey Hart
  14. I am interested. One ticket for me...
  15. Coco + Shrek > El Caballo In Coco We Trust great win...
  16. whoops, wrong thread http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Too bad we don't still have Russ 3TO B, a "K" would have helped us instead of that double play http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. Rivera two days in a row, huh? Looks like Dunn did indeed take a little bit out of Damian.
  19. That is easy: because, similar to batting Jenkins against lefties, every once in awhile it works and that makes Nedly feel a hard worker gamer and battler? What'd I win?
  20. Well, if we're gonna be sellers, can we trade Jenkins too? Please?
  21. Helling: 2 innings pitched, 3 strikeouts. Imagine that. Apparently he was unable to pitch last night. Is Ohka warming in the bullpen yet?
  22. Shouse against the lefty, then Helling, and then Turnbow/Kolb in the next inning. Simple.
  23. Not to me. Trotting out Jenkins against lefties. Not using Hart enough. The idiotic pitching decisions. Yost needs to go...
