    I agree that he was a difference maker through July - and it is just a shame that for whatever reason, he has fallen apart. I would not keep him on the playoff roster. He has shown nothing in the last few weeks. His replacement? I’m not sure. The Miz, Logan, and the early Harrison would have been dynamite…

    Could Brewer Fanatic give an update on Jared Koenig? he pitched a scoreless ninth. How is he doing overall? He was so important to the Brewers the last couple of seasons

    He simply got clobbered last night. With May not being worthy of the trade pieces they gave up, Brewer starting pitching just got a little tenuous.

    Could it be the hitting coaches? the Brewer pitching staff gets well deserved kudos. Brewer hitting has not been great this year. Early on they did well with driving in runners in scoring position - lately not so much. So could it be the coaching? Are the hitters just not really good? I really don’t know. Thoughts?

    Having all young guys in the rotation is both a blessing and a curse. Watching Shane get blown up the other night is a reminder that they are young and barely battle tested. All the Dodger starters have been around. should be fun if we can get past the Cubbies….

    I hope that Andrew Fisher will ultimately wear Brewer blue and not be used as trade bait. Would be nice to have a homegrown power bat to add to Chourio, and now it appears Mitchell.

    I believe it will turn around. It’s just that it’s so hard to watch these last few games.

    I thought Vaughn has looked really good this year, except for power. Bauers should play left, and Chourio move to center or right. Frelick is the weak offensive outfield link, I’m sorry to say. Because I really like his play…

    I’ve thought that his bat speed looked faster as well since his return. Great to see! Just wonder where he best fits in the batting order?

    Rengifo just doesn’t offer any offense. Would they be a step down from a .200 hitter?

    What a trade with the Bosox. What great pitcher development. What a joy it is to watch both these guys pitch!

    I also was a little puzzled by this trade, then impressed when I watched Zerpa in the WBC, and finally disappointed when he got injured. I did see both Mears and Collins regress in the second half of last year - so that probably played into the trade. More importantly, the Brewers had a glut of young pitchers and outfielders playing great in the minors - so I expect that was a primary reason the trade was made.

    What is the thinking here? Why send Crow down and bring up a guy who struggles at both AAA and the major league level? To give him (Crow) more starts? Money? contract length?

    Would love to see Mitchell be healthy. Seems talented, but snake-bit by injury. Agreed that this is the best scenario.
