  1. [ he reason everyone is so sensative about the Braynan thing is because maybe the people that thought he was VASTLY OVERRATED are right....but we will never get that here on this site...instead threads will get locked and the topic will go away because it can't be defended anymore. ] Don't confuse a cult following with actually thinking a player should be a long-term starter with the team. I think that's what you're doing, here. [ If you don't agree with the "right" people on this site, then you are not respected. That is why I rarely post on this site anymore... ] If you don't agree with the majority of the people on the site, it's simply logical to think that the majority of the people are going to disagree with your posts. If you sound like you're whining, it's only logical to think that people aren't going to respect you. I take your non-Branyan posts very seriously, and always respond to them in a respectful manner. [ so if I want to stick it to the people who were so sure Branyan was going to suceed, they deserve it the same way I deserve it if Braynan would hit .300 or hit 30 home-runs. But I won't have to worry about that because it will never happen. ] That's you're whole problem, right here. You think someone's "keeping score". If you're driven by the urge to "be right", then you're really not interested in having an open-minded discussion on topics, and that's what i'm hoping everyone here is looking to do. EDIT: You'll notice that I haven't called you out in a new thread on how Zach Duke's doing this year vs. Prince Fielder, even though that was somewhat of a heated discussion late last year. I have no intention of doing so, because "I told you so-ism" is incredibly lame
  2. [ Just because he is having a bad season, doesn't mean his name can never be brought up. Would you lock a thread if he hit 3 home runs in a game and someone mentioned it on this site? ] I've told you before how I feel about "vendetta" posting. You're only doing this because you're angry about how the Branyan situation was handled last year. And if Branyan homered 3 times in a game (even though it's far more significant than 4 K's in a game) and a guy with a pro-Branyan agenda started a new thread about it, I'd lock it. Let it go.
  3. Give me a break. We've had this discussion before.
  4. There's some kind of database issue which has been hard for me to track down so far. I'm on the issue, but I need to think of a better approach to resolve the problem.
  5. [ The May 26th stop in Hingham would be a lot closer, no? ] You're right. I guess I assumed that since I never heard of Hingham, that it'd be farther away http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif . That is a Friday though, so depending on what time of day it is, i'm not sure if it'd be more accessible to people than the Wautoma dates, even though it's twice as far away.
  6. A little off-topic, but The King and His Court are going to be on tour for their final time (forever) this year. They'll be in Wautoma on May 28th & 29th... It might be cool to get some of our softball guys (and anyone else) up there.
  7. For Fanfest this year, we're looking to create fanfest t-shirts so that we can have something for everyone to take home, and hopefully get a little on-camera action this year at the game. We're thinking about putting this in a package along with game ticket & food (& beer), so that we can get the shirts from a screen printer to keep the cost down (and not go through Cafepress.com as we are now for one-off merchandise sales, as that tends to be more expensive). Is there a cost threshhold that people would NOT be interested in paying to get a t-shirt as part of the package? How much is too much, $10, $12, $15? If people who are thinking of attending can weigh in as soon as possible on this questions, it would help us greatly to keep the cost down this year, as we kinda got burned last year.
  8. Had an awesome time today. I think it became obvious to me from today's practice that I need to work on getting more elevation on the ball and picking tougher throws at 1B. I hadn't played organized baseball in a long, long time, so I didn't embarass myself as much as I thought I would, but I think i'm pretty much forfeit insurance at this point http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif From today's "small sample size", there are some guys who I think will do an awesome job up the middle and in the outfield... a nice array of power hitters and guys who were spraying the ball everywhere. I almost think we should abandon a natural batting order and completely alternate between contact and power. I think in softball, with the rover, it's easy to position guys deep for the power hitters. If we can keep them more off balance with sluggers & dunkers, they can't play us to hit everything hard.
  9. Actually, i'm out for Sunday. I forgot that I have some family committments that day. Plus, being my first practice, i'm sure i'll be immobile http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. [ Well, Moeller has been moderately hot lately with the bat, so it's not unwarranted that Yost thought leaving him in was a good idea. ] One of his flyball outs was stroked pretty well too, last night. I didn't have a problem with leaving him in.
  11. [ Yost will always have a place in his heart for crappy white backup catchers. STUPID. ] So through yesterday our favorite whipping boy is actually hitting .333/.429/.500, and now we've picked him to be the game's scapegoat? On any other given day, i'd be down for some "bad Chad" bashing, but there's plenty of ass-hattery to go around today.
  12. [ I am so sick of this. This team does everything in its power to lose games. ] Don't be so mellodramatic. They could easily have forfeited and spared us the agony. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Hey, I was able to squeeze two episodes of House in during the game. It looks like I was the big winner tonight.
  13. [ Listen to you guys...all this negativity. You guys shouldn't care that we lost 9 of the last 12. You should be all positive 24/7 and think about all the good things (Ben Sheets....churp, churp)....that we accomplished tonight. I can't take all this pessimistic chat. ] Are you about done, then?
  14. The bat I got today at Dunham's was a 28 oz bat, and it was $60.00. It was actually the cheapest one I saw there.
  15. [ bandwagoners finally imploded after last night? ] Friday nights are usually slow, as people are out "doing things". http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. http://www.oxfordstudent.com/article_images/24/2112/0027.jpeg
  17. Depending on how sore I am, I might be interested in playing on Sunday. I'm in Waukesha, so distance isn't an issue for me.
  18. I went out and bought a glove, bat, ball, pants, batting gloves, and hit about 100 balls in the cages today. At least I have the equipment, and my age is sabermetrically correct for me to have a career year (i'll be 29 in July).
  19. Is there an official word on rubber vs. metal spikes for games? I need to run out today and get some clear and some cream anyway, so I figured i'd grab some spikes.
  20. [ I will take your comments into consideration and try hard not to post when the wheels are totally falling off the wagon as I seemed to do today. ] I guess if I saw you pimping more positive things when they occur, i'd tend to view you as just a "passionate" fan than one who fueled themselves on negativity. That's at least the perception that I have, and some of the other people have. But hey, I appreciate you taking my comments into consideration, and am looking forward to the Brewers rebounding from this disaster tomorrow.
  21. [ If anything, I was proving that I really could be positive no matter what a certain person may think. ] I'd like to meet this "certain person". He seems to think a lot like me.
  22. [ Jenkins is awesome. Especially with runners on base or in scoring position. There, that's me being positive. ] No, not every comment is sarcasm. Just every other one I guess. I do sincerely apologize for reading your last comment incorrectly, but my point still stands. If you're mainly here to criticize the team, then you're not a fan, you're a troll. If you're commenting positively on the positive things and negatively on the negative things, you're a fan. There's nothing as gutless as showing up only when your agenda is served. That's what i'm trying to convey, here.
  23. [ What is that supposed to mean? ] Well, you quoted my comments about waiting to see a positive comment from you and replied with a negative comment, as to mock me. So, I guess that makes me think you're a troll. The ball's in your court (wrong sports metaphor, I know).
  24. [ Clutch hitting from our 4-8 batters tonight. That's good to see our '05 automatic outs really coming through for us lately. Prince is showing me and hopefully Ned that the time is now to move him into the 3 spot and put Jenks back at 5 where he seems more comfortable. ] Have it your way. I guess you're on "troll watch", then.
