[ There are some really boring duos out there, lemmie tell ya. ] fly ball.............caught.
  2. Brian the Automator
Was it Podsednik on the cover?

[ Boy, Ohka sure does suck and I'm upset we paid him SO much money last winter. ] He pitched great tonight. I still think he'll end up flopping in the first half, but I won't complain at all if he proves me wrong. he may have won the battle, but he will not win the war! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

[ It did for me. I resized the row of brooms image in the IGT. ] I see... I thought you were referring to avatars.

Hardy's trade value is at an all-time high.

[ This fasinates me. The only thing on the chart I fail to understand is why batter hit so terribly on 3-0 counts. Are they overswinging? ] What are the sample sizes for these? I'm thinking a lot of people who get to 3-0 walk, especially if this sample takes intentional/intenional-unintentional walks into account. I would think that yes, people generally overswing on 3-0, but most aren't swinging at all.

Brewers aren't scorching the ball, but Duke's definately not as sharp as he was when he was in a groove last year. And god, I hope Damian CAN play 120 games this year. You've got a decent club when he's you're #8 hitter.

Tomo's throwing pretty well. Duke threw a lot of pitches in the 1st inning. I'm feeling pretty good about the game...

Hard to get on Jenkins for that one. Extremely unusual for him.

I haven't seen it as well... and if I did, I don't have the ability to fix it http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  11. Brian the Automator
What effect does that have, though? It doesn't physically resize the image.
  12. Brian the Automator
It does, and i'm copying it there now.

[ IGT, full of thoughts and comments like "Prince's swing looks far too long right now", and another for all the "Woo-hoo" stuff, but I guess that's an unlikely scenario. ] That's not a bad idea, but it would be impossible to implement because now you have judgement calls between what's thoughtful and what's either a rant or an outburst of joy.

[ Wouldn't it be better if we left the game thread for an actual online depiction of the game, i.e., Cappy strikes out McLouth, next batter flies to right, etc.? That way we could have more than three new threads on the main board for each game. It would make it much more easier to navigae this board ] There are already places you can go to get play-by-play textual recaps of games. We're not intereseted in re-creating that. What we're trying to prevent are countless spawns of threads relating to games, especially when those threads usually involve knee-jerk reactions of plays that happened during the game. This is what occurred last year when we didn't have tighter controls on what content should be included in IGT's and what should be included in the Major League forum. EDIT: Besides, not to sound pessimistic, but the IGT's tend to calm down a little bit with "YESSSS!!!" after decent plays once the year gets further underway.

Not only are the Brewers alone in first place in the NL Central, but they're alone in first place in the entire league. Anyone up for a Players' strike?
  16. Brian the Automator
definately a curveball grip.... his index finger doesn't completely grip the ball.

[ Actually, it would probably be next to useless for game threads, because the posting is so fast and furious that you're never going to go back and read the new posts since you started typing. But for normal threads it might be useful. ] If you got a preview of what threads were posted since you clicked the "add reply" button, it'd be more useful. It's a nice idea.

    stupid picnic area.
  19. Brian the Automator
[ No way to sit Fielder yet, kills his confidence. ] You can't kill something that's already dead. Sitting him for one game against a tougher lefty isn't a bad idea.
  20. Brian the Automator
Did you see Cankles throw that ball off-target from RF into 3B? He's giving Craig Wilson a false sense of confidence. Mind games, man, mind games.
  21. Brian the Automator
[ He's overthinking out there. You can tell he's trying NOT to K instead of thinking he's gonna get a hit. Against Duke tomorrow, I propose sitting him down a game and letting Corey Hart get some AB's from 1B. Who's with me? ] I'm with you. It'd be a nice way to get Corey a few at-bats as well.
  22. Brian the Automator
    Break this thing wide open!
  23. Brian the Automator
[ Gross is an upgrade over Magruder, but by how much? ] Apparently a bunch. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. Brian the Automator
Ned, you are some kind of sorcerer.

It's too bad they still have to go with the 6-year-old obscure trance music for the lineups... Nothing says Go Brewers like.. Paul Van Dyk?
