  1. [ But man oh man, try to say that here, and they are carving up your body for the vultures to feast on. ] If your opinions aren't allowed to be criticized, message boards ain't the place to hang out. You _immediately_ got defensive at brettac1's comment and dissenting opinion and immedately went on the stathead attack. They track stats for a reason... and the larger the sample size, the more applicable stats become. [ I really have no idea what you are talking about? Do you have some database stored on each poster? Would you care to enlighten me on my past 'error against the state'? ] Back when you and I were at each other's throat, and I mentioned that you weren't acting mature for your age, you just about went ballistic on me. Yes, calling statheads "teenagers" to generalize that they're not consistent is insulting. Attacking the person instead of the argument doesn't do anything for the attacker's credibility. Brett went to AAA to obtain a larger sample size to compare Marte to and you immediately started beating the stathead drum.
  2. [ It seems as though our offense has already hit the showers. ] 9 hits in 7 innings isn't all that bad. I think offense is still around, but clutch hitting has hit the showers.
  3. [ Oh, the joy of having a discussion with stathead/teenagers ] Hoffy, for someone who had a serious problem with anyone mentioning "age" before, this is a touch out of line.
  4. [ Say goodnight to this game. ] Yeah. It's totally out of reach.
  5. That was the worst piece of third base coaching i've seen. ever.
  6. I'm just picturing a conversation right now. Milwaukee Bucks ticket office: "Hello, Milwaukee Bucks." Caller: "Hello, i'd like to not purchase Milwaukee Bucks tickets" Milwaukee Bucks ticket office: *silence* "....ok, why not?" Caller: "His name is Brian Kapellusch and his website is Brewerfan.net. He called me an 8 year old." Milwaukee Bucks ticket office: "I don't think I follow." Caller: "His name is Brian Kapellusch and his website is Brewerfan.net. He called me an 8 year old." Milwaukee Bucks ticket office: "I see." *silence* Caller: "I'm 59 years old with plenty of experience in sports, and I cna put him to shame." Milwaukee Bucks ticket office: "Sir, how can I help you?" Caller: "YOU JUST LOST A TICKET SALE."
  7. From time to time I somehow get entagled in controversy and sometimes very odd and sometimes disturbing conversations with people due to being the head guy of the site. This recent email conversation is submitted for your approval to be inducted into the WOAH SOLVDD hall of fame. I'm not sure if this guy thinks I run ALL message boards on the internet or what. Either way, it'll make you laugh and/or cry. [ I've been trying for 2 days to enter ur website...Have filled out all info, but when I try to sign on I get a msg saying password invalid. Ck box to have validation sent to me,but I never get it.... WWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPP thx.............. ] Are you trying to sign up on the main site or at the fan forum (ezboard)? [ I think it's on ezboard............. Gdang,Marlins just got more runs..........I must forewarn U, I'm gonna be a vocal fan when the Brewers screw up like they are lately, but I'll still be civilized............thx,Bri ] You'll need to contact ezBoard directly if you have a problem signing up, as I have no control over it. I have no problem with opinionated fans, but make sure you abide by the rules in our FAQ, as we cater to a mature crowd. p092.ezboard.com/fbrewers...=576.topic Thanks, Brian [ Will ck with ezboard to resolve prob...... I am a mature 59 yrs. old,but I'm also an ex Raider's dude,so U know how that goes...........hahahahahahahaha will catch U on the board if I get this signon resolved............ Take care,Brian>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ] [ gdang, this is quite a process getting on ur site...........but that's good. Waiting for hopefully final approval to start posting....I PROMISE I'll be good, better than SO & some of the Cav's people that have stunk up the site.... I'm just an ordinary guy that LOVES sports & will voice my opinions in a reasonable manner........I've been watching ur site for a long time, & I like all the diverse opinions that everyone offers........I'm into the Bux,Brew Crew, & the Pack, so I'll have some say about all of them....I'm also a contributor to their games as far as participation, so I'm not just a "watch on TV" person..... Looking forward to having some fun>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ] Cav's people? I'm ont sure what you mean. Just another word of advice, though. Don't use abbreviations like "ur" and "u" when you post on the site. Otherwise, it looks like you're an 8 year old with daddy's AOL account, and people will (unfortunately) tee off on you. Welcome aboard, and happy posting. Brian [ I'm a 59 year old with plenty of experience in sports to put you to shame..... Take your website & shove it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ] [ You just personally cost the Bucks,Brewers,& Pack a few ticket sales........I'll be sure to mention your name & website when I DON'T buy their tickets. I'm saving your comment about being an 8 year old with Daddy's acc't on AOL. to pass on to the above organizations to explain to them why I won't spend a few hundred dollars to go to their games. That was a VERY stupid comment,my man, especially to me,since I've been around as a major sports fan for at least 45 years.... And don't worry about me visiting your website again, it'll NEVER happen. ] Why would my asking you not to use abbreviations in posts cost the Brewers (who we're not affiliated with) and the Packers and Bucks, two teams that we don't even cover) tickets? That just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
  8. [ So Brian...are you saying that the Brewers have the 27th least talented team in the league? ] No. What i'm saying is that relative to their payroll positioning, they're actually doing quite well. My point was not to totally equate payroll and talent, but to not factor in payroll to success would be a bit shortsighted.
  9. Becoming involved is easy.... just email an article. If it's not horrible, it gets posted http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. [ Because their pitching staff is among the best in the league and they still have lost far more games than they have won. ] It wouldn't have anything to do with the number of close games lost and the fourth lowest payroll in the league, right? Butch should be able to take this team of 40M players and turn them into a top half of the league performing offense! Let's ignore the fact that they already gained 40 points in team OPS last year while having a not-ready-for-primtime rookie like Hardy drag things down as he's gaining some traction. Scoop, you're smarter than this. I think you have a case of Wynegar bloodlust here because they've had two bad offensive performances in a row.
  11. Nelson Cruz with what should have been a stand-up RBI triple, but the ump _competely_ blew the call on the tag at third base.
  12. How does the team who's just BARELY below the median of team OPS's, especially considering their payroll, have a horrible offense, scoop?
  13. [ A change with Butch couldn't be worse.......could it? ] A change with Lopes couldn't have been worse.......could it have? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Like I said, I don't think Butch is God's gift to hitting coaches, but I don't think the Brewers would rally around a Wynegar firing. If several of the hitters were in a prolonged slump, I might think differently... Team OPS: 17th out of 30 Team payroll: 27th out of 30 I think you guys have unrealistic expectations of this team.
  14. [ I never said it was his "fault". ] You made light of the fact that he gets a paycheck. What on Earth do you expect people tho think you're implying? [ An axe needs to fall ] Why? To accomplish what goal? To let everyone know what they already know?
  15. [ somewhere in the world....a big fat huge check is being made out to...... Harold D. Wynegar .... ] sports.espn.go.com/mlb/st...eason=2005 I suppose by that rationale, there should be 7 other hitting coaches fired first. This is the same team that banged out 16 hits a couple of days ago. I wouldn't cry myself to sleep if Butch was let go, but I really don't see what his firing would accomplish at this point. Most of the players on the team have been hot & cold... there aren't many players who are just flat out lost up there that I could point to Butch and say "it's your fault".
  16. [ not a good feeling about today. A win would be a wonderful suprise but I am expecting to get run out of town. 9-2 Marlins. Bummer. I hope we kick some rear, but I just dont see it today. ] Scoop, you need to take off your Brewer goggles next time. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. [ Basically everyone in here is not a fan anyways. ] Hey now, i'm a fan. I even have my own website. Yeah, I think people need a pretty big dose of lithium here. I'm not going to call specific people out, but there are some people who after a 2 game winning streak say the team's a wildcard contender, and after a 2 game losing streak go running for a razor blade. I tend to mock the team when they're doing poorly, but that's really just my way to vent a bit by trying to interject humor. I think that's a healthier way to go about it than say you're done with the team one day and then proclaim them the next best thing to oxygen the following day.
  18. [ Moeller??? UGH.. ] Chad Moeller had an .843 OPS in June and has a 1.286 OPS (in limited action) in July. I can live with that type of "UGH".
  19. Brady Clark CF Rickie Weeks 2B Lyle Overbay 1B Carlos Lee LF Geoff Jenkins RF Bill Hall SS Russell Branyan 3B Chad Moeller C Victor Santos P Juan Pierre CF Damion Easley 2B Jeff Conine 1B Miguel Cabrera LF Juan Encarnacion RF Mike Lowell 3B Alex Gonzalez SS Matt Treanor C Brian Moehler P
  20. [ The whole TEAM battled! ] Yes, they battled success and they came out victorious.
  21. [ So Nelson Cruz went 4/6 with 1 HR, 1 RBI, 4 R, 2 BB, 2 doubles and 2 stolen bases on the day? Good grief... .435 average in a small sample, but wow. ] He also rescued a kitten from a tree, ran a four minute mile, and beat super mario brothers in a minute and a half.
  22. [ Why don't the Brewers give up on the Wes Obermuller experament? This has gone on way too long. I can't believe this guy still takes up a major league roster spot. ] The guy had a 4.08 ERA coming into the game.... Who's the better option here?
  23. At least we can rest easy knowing that kid won't get a date until he's 26.
  24. [ I totally don't get that. ] There were a group of experts (8 year olds) letting Damian Miller know that they wanted a batter, not a crooked ladder.
