  1. I'm disappointed that Tom wrote a blog post about this (although I'm MUCH more disappointed that Keith Law stated the stuff Escobar's wife emailed out as fact). We've [brewerfan] been sitting on this info for quite a while now (late January), as we were also included in the seemingly large number of outlets that Escobar's wife emailed. The whole thing was pretty shocking to us, since all we've heard about was how great a kid Escobar was. Obviously, the only people that really know the facts here are the people that are close to the story (Alcides, his wife, and their familes). I wish media outlets would be more discrete about these kinds of things, especially when it's a he said/she said thing right now. We've sat on this kind of info before, because I really feel it's irresponsible journalism (not that we're even really held to journalism standards here). While Tom could have handled the situation much worse, I really wish he would have not discussed it unless it has legal ramifications or ramifications to the club. It was bad enough while it was in a blog post at ESPN, but now it's going to serve as an even bigger distraction now that it's come to light in Milwaukee. And personally, I hope Alcides and his wife get stuff squared away. Even *if* she was lying about 100% of what she was saying, she's obviously hurting, big time... and since there's a child involved, I hope there's an amicable solution.
  2. That seems odd to me... He's always been a decent shortstop, so I'm not sure why an organization would have demanded that he switch positions from the get-go.
  3. If I were the Brewers, I probably wouldn't want to move Hardy to another position either. He's worth more in trade value than he is to the team as a player shifted in the defensive spectrum.

  7. Wow, awesome. TV today! There's the feeling of listening to your first S/T game on the radio which is awesome... but then there's actually SEEING the players on TV which makes you feel like spring is actually on the way.
  8. Nicely Done http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The KLF is fascinating to me: - They burned one million British pounds as an act of "art" - After retiring from the music industry in 1992, they deleted their entire back catalogue - They used Tammy Wynette for vocals on an acid house song "Stadium Techno" is pretty antiquated and cheesy by today's standards... but was groundbreaking at the time.
  9. No, but he is british and was in the music industry.

  11. Nah, if they put it up, it'll probably be covered up, and they'd unveil it on opening day. I think it's the '82 flag.
  12. I enjoyed the first comment in the blog entry: That's some serious prose right there.

  15. I swore a LOT in college, more than likely, because it was something that everyone basically did, and it was contagious.... However, with that said, I always made sure that it was something that was done around people who I knew wouldn't be offended (especially kids).
  16. Brewers down 2-0 early, after McClung gives up a homer...
  17. Pretty amazing... Not very gimmicky. Classy all the way. Too bad they're evil.
  18. Any chance, that with a good showing, Morlan wins a spot in the rotation until Looper is able? I know that the seemingly local answer would be McClung, but it might not make sense to stretch McClung out when Looper's only a short time away from being activated after opening day.
