  1. Got a call from CBS 58 and someone wants to do a story for tonight's news (so this needs to happen ASAP). They're looking for someone who was old enough to remember the Crew losing in 1982 (I do, but since I was 5, it's pretty sketchy), someone in the Milwaukee area obviously (to interview), and someone who's probably a bit abnormally into the team (meaning most of you qualify). Call: Alina Machado 414-607-8170 ..if you're interested. Thanks!
  2. Soup would be available on full rest, but I would think Yo's arm would be pretty fresh after so much inactivity this season and a low pitch count in his previous outing. I wouldn't be shocked if they went with Soup, but I'm very much hoping it's Yo.
  3. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/3292597455943d764e313dabd83d6bf783978d2.jpg Words cannot express enough how happy I am that this thread exists. I'd like to say thank you first and foremost to everyone here who's stuck with this team through 106 loss seasons, 2nd half collapses, 12 consecutive losing seasons, and a 25-year playoff drought. Brewers fans are some of the most patient in all of sports, and this reward is well-deserved. I'd like to say thank you to Mark Attanasio, Doug Melvin, Jack Z, and the rest of the front office for their hard work, dedication, and initiative for going out and raising the payroll to make a small-market team competitive. And finally, I'd like to thank all the players. It would have been very easy to pack-it-in after what seemed like another late-stretch collapse. I was too young to remember 1982, but I'm going to relish this season forever, no matter what happens going forward. And now, let's get this started: http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/d2935db3423d9cfbdb1147f81541b045b41503e.jpg http://images.yuku.com/image/png/ac0251a46d90add94e8197976da31d35e58572c.png http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/171256a4a495cd9b4b41cb686497b1f9241532e.jpg
  4. I think that even if LaPorta went on to be a multiple-time all-star, this still would have been the right move for the Brewers. As greedy as I am with our home-grown talent, this trade blows the Sutton one out of the water. The only thing that would change my mind is if LaPorta went on to be a HOFer.... but of course, if that happened, the Brewers would lose his services to the highest bidder eventually anyway. I was happy with the trade initially, but now it just seems like it'll be the deal that will have us remembering Doug in a positive light, ala Harry Dalton, no matter what happens down the road.
  5. I think, by definition of the term (most valuable), CC should win the MVP, hands down. Now, as far as how voting goes, I think there are more deserving players stat-wise for both the Cy and the MVP. I think the fact that CC played half the season in the AL will prevent him from winning either honor.
  6. That's easily the best thing I've seen this month.

  10. No movement on these tix, so I'll sell them to the first person who contacts me for $100.
  11. I've thought about this, and I'm shutting the thread down and banning playmaker13. Here are the reasons: - I have serious, serious doubts that these jerseys are licensed from MLB. As such, these would be illegal, and certainly isn't something I would want to promote here. - The jerseys are advertised as "Authentic". If they would have been advertised as replicas or perhaps even as factory rejects, I might have felt differently. Part of what I feel makes Brewerfan great is the level of trust that users have with each other. While I personally would have subscribed to a "too good to be true" philosophy on this one as a buyer, I feel that allowing these types of sales goes against the spirit of the site. Bottom line, is if you're intentionally misleading people or pleading ignorance to things which are obvious to 95% of the users here, you're not welcome to conduct business here.
  12. Why are there no burgers with bacon on them on the McDonalds menu?

  15. No, it's just that people have asked for mailing addresses for checks so I don't know what a true total is, as a few outstanding checks are still coming in. Unfortunately, I've been running back and forth between the hospital, so I haven't been able to organize a normal posting of amounts as I normally would have.

  18. But that's the speed LIMIT. It's physically impossible to break that barrier!
  19. Why would the Cubs want to gamble on Rickie when they're definitely still trying to win now? Just for some speed? And would Theriot really be happy making a defensive downgrade as he gets closer to a payday? I guess to me, there are too many reasons for this not to happen.
  20. I gotta say, I love the pilgrimage down to Huntsville and Nashville. That's good eatin', stadiums be damned.
  21. It was an agreement we made so that I can concentrate on my male modeling career.
  22. I botched it up ... there are 5 tickets in this package, and 4 in the other.
  23. Not having Dale send runners in hopeless situations should be good for a win or two on its own .
