  1. You're right. They're 5-5 in their last 10. They're doomed. lol.
  2. The Brewers aren't imploding. They're 6-4 in their last 10 games and .500 over their last 20. 2 games over .500 after playing the whole season thus far without Priester, Chourio and Vaughn isn't terrible, particularly when you lose Yelich in the process. You can lose a division in the first 6 weeks but you can't lose a division at any point of a season by going 13-11 over 24 games. Things aren't great but they're far from terrible and they haven't started playing in the division yet.
  3. It's going to be interesting to see what this roster looks like in a month.
  4. Muprhy has to manage the roster he's given, in other words. I didn't like his lineup today but that worked fine in the end if the pen hadn't given it up. He's not perfect but he's not a problem.
  5. I think most of us had the same thought. An hour ago I was questioning what Matos is even on the roster.
  6. This has to be a monumentally frustrating team to play. I know I get repetitive but I would hate the Brewers if I weren't a fan of theirs. 😅
  7. I know the numbers on the 3rd time through the order are what they are for most starters but at some point you've got to let Sproat throw more than 75 pitches. Preferably before Asby et al start having their arms fall off.
  8. Not Turang's day so far, but I'll take a 4-3 lead in a game where Skubal started for the Tigers. Said before that I'm not sure why Matos is on the roster and I guess scoring from 1st on a double is probably a big part of it. I mostly meant that I'm not sure what he offers that Lockridge doesn't (or Frelick) but...🤷‍♂️
  9. True. But we probably wouldn't have 4 in the lineup w/o injuries to Yelich/Chourio/Vaughn. They've made some decisions with the roster I wouldn't have made. I'll give you that.
  10. Fair. I'm operating off the assumption that even though I have tickets for the next homestand I've watched my last game with the current High A roster. We'll see.
  11. Because he's actually playing pretty well even if his numbers don't match Pena's or Paynes, at 21 he's still young for the level by a year, and frankly he's a better prospect at this point than Boeve and Brown who are getting some of the starts at 3B for Biloxi when Garcia is playing elsewhere. Honestly don't think there's a benefit to his development in keeping him at High A at this point and a concern for roster crunch at AA at 3B and DH isn't a good reason to keep him there in my opinion.
  12. lol maybe everyone who turned it off in the 2nd inning will come back.
  13. I think it's fair to say that they prioritized speed and defense among their depth players on the assumption that Yelich, Chourio and Vaughn wouldn't all be out simultaneously. It gets ugly in a hurry when you face the pitchers the Tigers have put out there the last two games and with Murphy's commitment to use players on the roster particularly in a get-a-way day game but I don't think the depth is that much worse/different than it has been for a while. It's just more exposed earlier in the season because they're down 3 hitters that would be in most days 1 to 5 in the lineup pushing guys like Lockridge and Sanchez out of the 5 to 9 slots when they play and into 1 and 4 today. That said, I think it's fair to criticize the absence of moves to change their depth players at some point. Just my opinion but I don't understand what they saw in Matos or why he's on the roster and watching the clock tick on Ortiz as a daily entry in the lineup is exhausting.
  14. Bought tickets to a couple of TRats games for the next homestand and continue to think there will be one or more promotions before those games. Honestly a little surprised that Fischer is still at High A in late April.
  15. SSS alert so I'm trying not to get too excited about Payne. We'll see how the next month plays out for him but what he's doing at High A at age 19 is fantastic even if you assume he levels off a bit over the next few weeks.
  16. Chris Hook in that mound meeting: "If you make us use Uribe tonight I will f****** destroy you."
  17. So now that I've seen someone in the stands wearing the WISCO gear after seeing someone earlier in that awful 90's era MB logo with the green/blue/gold color scheme, I guess I'll admit that the WISCO stuff isn't the WORST Brewers gear I've ever seen.
  18. I was too fixated on Nick Offerman to think of that, although it's not bad.
