Ransom at 3d . . . Interesting experiment. -
Pirates TV guys crowing when they had Hart 0-2. "Would be nice to get him on this pitch. But he doesn't have to."
-
GoGo temporarily quells the boos for Wolf. Ransom with the Platinum Sombrero and counting over 2 days.
-
OK, that makes sense, thanks.
-
Does anyone watching have an explanation for what happened on Braun's hit? There are 2 out so I don't understand why Lucroy is only on 2d on a ball off the wall or why he is watching to see what happens.
-
We suck on the road. Playing fine at home.
-
It's the 2012 Astros. Doesn't everyone have some good stats against those guys?
-
Before the inning started my brother texted me that as long as Ax didn't walk anyone he'd be fine. After the leadoff walk he texted game over. Ueck said he had Henderson warmed up as well, was that right?
-
Nope can't do that because you have an .060 hitter on deck. Must pitch to the Bogusman.
-
I'm trying to figure out what's going on in Roenicke's head. Ax has been doing well setting up and Henderson is doing fine closing. So maybe that's the ticket going forward. This is the time to find out. So why are we going back to K-Rod and Ax? Even if they right the ship that's not a long-term solution. Does he think that if K-Rod pitches a clean inning someone will pick him up? Then Ueck says Henderson is coming in so I figure he'll do the right thing one time at least. But no. It's like he's a mole.
-
Sits Chapman down, for the time being at least.
-
There's 49 mph Eephus. Ueck: "You could do that in a school zone."
-
That's a good point. It doesn't matter to us but it's a killer for the Pirates so Roenicke does have an obligation to try to win.
-
In K-Rod's defense, he had Rolen struck out and it's a whole different inning if that call is made.
-
"We'll listen to this ovation for Nyger Morgan. Wow, how about that? They love him here! "Nyger and Chris Carpenter became great friends last year, and it continued into this year. It's funny how opposites attract. Tall. Short. "Still cheering for Nyger as he heads back to the dugout."
-
No Crush but great job by Wolf picking him up. Wolf seems to own the Cards at Busch lately.
-
My guess is they are only counting the cases (like earlier today) where the bunt is actually laid down. Otherwise 3 fails all year has to be low.
-
They said last night that the Brewers were 10 for 12 on squeezes this year. Seemed high to me.
-
Ueck was saying that Keuchel's first couple of starts were good. If you look at the last 3 or 4 the stats are probably appropriately brutal.
-
When you walk a guy in the 9th that's not the tying run you need to be gone. Right away. What's Roenicke waiting for? That's worse than the 30 yd FG it's like missing an XP.
-
They've faced 4 guys where a walk is worse than a home run walked 2 of them.
-
That's 1 scoreless inning in the last 8 for the bullpen.
-
Izturis is the only guy on the team who can bunt. But Aoki picks him up!
-
Also remember that he burned A-Ram in a situation where the PH was going to get intentionally walked.
-
Well they don't give up.
