  1. I plan on goin to the Yount bobble game Tuesday...we got something worked out....I'll get at ya once I have it in posession
  2. Rick Cerone, Jim Lonborg, and Paul Mitchell yesterday. Jim Sundberg today.
  3. In the last few days I've gotten back Reggie Cleveland, Rick Austin, Rollie Fingers, Tim Johnson, Al Downing, Jack Heidemann, Chuck Taylor, and Billy Conigiliaro
  4. Well, he's playing it smart unloading them one at a time. I dunno how many he has left but I really wonder what this kinda value this will hold in 10 years.
  5. Got Ken Berry yesterday, Chuck Taylor and Bob Humphreys today. Any background info on Chuck Taylor? His signature is pretty shakey.
  6. Yah, what era is your collection from? If it's from the junk wax era (late 80's to 90's) you aren't really gonna get anything for em. But if you have cards from early 80's and before you could be alright. Condition is everything, and with companies like PSA out there commons aren't worth anything until they're graded, and you could spend a fortune doing something that very well won't recoup your investment. If you have any other questions shoot me a PM, I might be able to help you out more. To put things in prospective I bought my friends collection for 50 bucks. It contained a lot of complete sets of late 80's stuff, but the only thing that sold me was that he had both 87 Topps Tiffany and Traded Tiffany sets. Singles aren't worth much (Griffey goes regularly for 25 or less raw), everything else much cheaper.
  7. Sent out 37 on Friday and 5 more on Monday. Got my first TTM cards back today. Jerry Augustine (2) and Willie Mueller both live in WI. The stupid rain had the corners a little wet, but I'm not getting these cards graded or anything, they weren't soaked and that's what matters. We also got a new mailbox today, heh.
  8. When was that giveaway? I have a ball signed by him, an umpire bobble could look pretty rad
  9. I know I've got a few of those Miller Lite anniversary card books....They might be out at my moms though. I'll have to look around. I didn't know they all had cards, just a lot of em...that's good to know. Thanks
  10. I've been saving/buying/flipping to be able to get a Hank Aaron rookie PSA 6 at the Natty this year. I'm going down on Wednesday or Thursday for sure. I also plan on getting some unopened from BBCE and depending on what I have after that, I wouldn't mind picking up a 53 Topps Matthews and a 50 Jackie Robinson Bowman. However, I've been paying attention to prices on eBay and the vendors are charging too much I might have to go that route. I'm looking forward to seeing what is all there. I went a few years ago, but only was buying up signed baseballs as I wasn't much into cards at the time. Jim, what ever happened to Pedro? He was a really nice guy on these boards, would send people bobbleheads and cards and stuff a few years ago. Very generous.
  11. Signed up for SportsCollectors.net last week. I need to get the cards still, but I have written 80 letters in the last week with intentions of doing the envelopes over the next few days and having them all mailed out by late next week. My goal is to get the first Brewers card of every player signed. I'll mail out index cards cut down to card size if they don't have one (Matias Carrillo, Rich Folkers, etc) Do any of you guys who send out cards put them in penny sleeves or card savers, or just leave em how they are? I'm not too concerned with condition as long as they don't get folded in half. More concerned about possible rain damage as our mailbox is basically right under a leaky gutter.
  12. Each game ticket will be accompanied by a voucher to be redeemed for a pair of Zubaz pants on Friday, July 19. What they don't tell you is that you have to find the Zubaz at Goodwill stores across Wisconsin on your own time.
  13. Utrect Art Supply on Farwell has em.
  14. the Braun was supposed to be just white based on the programs too. I'm guessing the alternates will be cerveceros.
  15. ESPN ran a story last week about the Pfister being haunted and players experiences there. A few years ago there was a thread about the Pfister and ghost stories, but it's fun reading the ones from players. Justin Upton won't even stay there. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/9315544/justin-upton-more-mlb-players-spooked-milwaukee-haunted-hotel-espn-magazine
  16. for those that wanna see it, go straight to the 2:40 mark. you'll want the rest of that time back otherwise.
  17. Stache, since we talked about 3 weeks ago through PM Segura cards have all doubled. Nice job getting in there early! What card shops in the Milwaukee area do ya'll go to? I've hit up a bunch of them, but wondering if maybe I've missed one or two. I often go to Gunderson's since it's closest to my house. West Allis Sports cards doesn't have much offered. Jeff's is good but it's a pretty good drive from the east side. Has anyone ever gone to Wise Guys? I've tried going there at various times on weekdays and weekends and they're never open. Not the best way to run a business. I recently picked up a Cal Ripken Jr Topps rookie, a Segura 2013 Topps Turkey 9/10 auto, and a Segura Bowman 2011 Blue Refractor signed. Gonna try to pick up some more Segura cards after work. Like many, I'm totally falling in love with this kid.
  18. 12-15 Blech. On the bright side, Jean Segura will be NL Player of the Month.
  19. Put that gold one on eBay. See what happens.
  20. I was there for the weekend of Molitor's induction, so it was busy as all get out. The Hall itself was great, we spent a lot of time in there. I also got a handful of autographs, though outside of HOF induction weekend I dont think anyone signs there. (Does Pete Rose still have a shop there?) The memorabilia shops are great to see all the signed baseballs and game used stuff. There are two bars, right across the street from each other. When we were there we camped about 15 minutes away from downtown and it was like 20 a night or something. There was a church that had a cheap pancake breakfast. We were able to catch an independent league game at Doubleday field. As others have said, once your there you can walk everywhere. Downtown is about an 8 block stretch.
  21. there's a buy it now up there for 40. isn't that about the going rate of new retros?
  22. I know this isn't any surprise, but who are they kidding when trying to sell this stuff? Wolf, Marcum and Rogers jerseys are all 250. Some girl didn't believe me that I got all three of those for 150 total at the rummage sale claiming "I don't think you bought game used ones if they were that price." They were selling a Segura gamer hat for 300!!! The tag originally said 100 but the "1" had a "3" written over it. When I started laughing, the guy told me it would be gone by the end of the series. I want to say a Nyjer Morgan bat was at least 300 maybe 500? Just plain silly.
