  1. private dealer. they had bobbles at the rummage sale, but they made it clear there were no alternates, that they'd been picked over by staff already. I'm not surprised, I had a powder blue ogilvie up last week at 12.99 and no one bid on it. I relisted it, and there's a bid on it now, but I think it's beginning to show an overall decrease in demand. The collectors that want them have them, and there isn't many new "die hard" collectors based on the amount of catch up that needs to be played, and space available. I think I'm gonna have an impossible time selling off my extra Capuanos, Suppans, Overbays, etc at $5.99 each. Thankfully I sold off a lot of extras a few years ago only have one or two extras of each each, and not 6 like I had in the past.
  2. Roache had his entire family, and maybe extended family and friends with him. I saw him a few times with a buncha people around him all smiling, laughing, and having a good time. All the minor leaguers were really nice. I only thought to have Coutler inscribe "2012 first round pick" on a card. After Morris signed my bobblehead, a lady who worked for the stars said that Hunter's son, Trip, would sign the bobbleheads with him after games. He would just put a giant "T" on his head. I got a kick outta hearing that. I forgot to add this earlier, but Marco Estrada's signature musta took him a long time to perfect. I really like how big and loopy it is, even though no one would be able to decipher it without knowing who it was.
  3. I did pretty great. My friend was helping me out, and I made out pretty well. I always miss out on the team signed balls, but I make up for it in the gamer jersey haul. This year was no different. I got a Wolf retro, a Marcum white, a Gagne navy, and a Morgan BP jersey. I tried negotiating with a guy who had a Morgan away navy but he wouldn't trade. Next I bought two Gamel and two Morris bobbles for 20 each. Both that I needed for my collection. I was pretty happy about that. I got all the prospects I wanted, all on cards, except Hunter Morris and Scooter Gennett (whose signature has gotten much worse since he first started signing) on balls and Morris on 2 bobbles. I'll get Roache and Coulter on balls when they get a little closer to the majors. I opted to buy a Maldinado and Estrada ball from Waukesha Sports, for 20 each. That made it a little easier to get more guys later as I was limited on balls to start the day and wouldn't have to worry about lines. My buddy managed to get me Ron Roenicke with a "2011 NLC Champs" inscription, and Carlos Gomez while I went and got Jim Gantner on a bobble and Jerry Augustine on a card. For the first time I won the lottery and was able to get Weeks on a Huntsville bobble for my buddy. He put "25" under his name to match the uni number he wore with the Stars. From there my buddy got Lucroy on a bobble for a friend of mine, and I got Mike Fiers on a ball. The day ended with me meeting Mr. Belding. I had pretty much everyone I wanted to get from years past so I wasn't really going for any big names outside of Weeks. I had a great time, and am pretty happy the Brewers have figured out how to tweak anything needed from year to year to make this a smooth event for everyone. In the end I got 4 game used jerseys 4 new bobbleheads (2 signed) 3 other bobbleheads signed 7 balls signed 12-14 cards signed Not bad for an 9 hour day on no sleep. Would love to hear everyone else's story of their day!
  4. I'm probably missing about 20 bobbleheads. Iceman, Mark Attanasio, Bernie Brewer (2004 Birthday), and Bill Hall (Track Suit) being the most expensive to come by, but as I said before its on the backburner. The only one I really kinda look out for now is the Uecker Indians. For some reason everytime I've wanted one, I never bid to own. Just hoped it'd fall in my lap. No biggie. Someday I'd like to get into the T206 cards, there's 500+ of them, and about two dozen are way out of my league in price (especially Wagner). It'd be fun to do though. I wanted to collect a card from every Wisconsin born player, but that won't start until I complete my sets of Milwaukee Braves cards.
  5. Agreed Turbo. I'll do my best to keep up with these. there's still a four or five I don't have from last year (between majors and minors), but I won't be chasing them as they are pretty available on eBay, and when the time comes, I know I can get em. Right now, just have no space, and limited interest. That said, I'm pretty excited for the Aoki and Scott. Based on those two, I'm hoping the rest look as nice.

  7. If this comes out and is remotely close to the one they are showing, I will be absolutely thrilled. Been waiting for a Boomer bobble for a long time now. Best sideburns. Suck it Corey Hart.
  8. My friend and I got a one hour show on Riverwest Radio talking Brewers and baseball in general. We had our first show this afternoon. If you wanna check it out, you can go to http://www.riverwestradio.com It was our first show, and there's room for improvement, but overall I think we did a good job preparing and covering various topics for this time of year.
  9. these aren't the same MVP bobbles that were gonna be made awhile back, are they?
  10. I'm right with ya brwrsfan, I plan on getting a few from this year, but prolly not all of them. I've been collecting them for a decade now, that's a pretty good run. I'll never get the Attanasio or Iceman at the prices that they're at. I might get a Braun Helena alternate someday, but they are ALWAYS available. It was fun while it lasted, but I'm enjoying my new found love for baseball cards.
  11. Obviously Crabtree isn't a star, but because it was worn in the playoffs it's worth a little bit more, but probably not much more that $50. If you had the pair it would probably be more desired, $125?
  12. I enjoyed the one with the ball and glove logo the best of the three. However, none of them really stood out to me. There were a few good ideas out there including a "Cream City" jersey, and another one that had "Maryville" in the Brewers current font. I was hoping to see something not so ordinary, and for a one day uni to really shake it up.

  14. If I remember correctly pitchers were held to fairly low pitch counts, especially in the first round.
  15. I'm more impressed with the case itself.

  17. was NOT too rich...you got a steal Mad! Nice job!
  18. I think yer best bet is to buy one. They rarely sell for more than 35. I don't know if anyone has ever had an extra up for trade on the board.
  19. Burke Heinrich "The Hopper" Badenhop. Badenhop is known by teammates and Marlins fans as "The Hopper" as both a play on his last name and on his way of hopping after throwing a pitch.
  20. Kinda bummed Segura isn't on there, though I'm sure I'll have a chance to get him soon enough. Lotta younger guys and prospects to get though. Looking forward to it!
  21. that's a fantastic photo bani! might have to look into that one for myself!
  22. Anyone get any good baseball gifts? I got some cash and bought a few 1957 Braves cards off eBay and plan to get some more. Just picked up Ray Crone and Johnny Logan in PSA 6. Need about 9 more to fill that team set. Also need two cards to complete my 1955 Braves Topps set so I'll probably get those pretty soon if I can find them in a 6 or 7.
  23. contact the admirals office. they probably auctioned all of the ones they had off or sold them at their rummage sale, but you never know.
  24. Not sure why instead of "having fun with it" they didn't have him talk to a psychologist or someone that might be able to help out? Obviously have no idea how severe it was, but if the team recognized it and thought felt it was appropriate for him to see someone, this thread wouldn't exist. Sad.
