I missed out. I woke up this morning and saw this at 7, by then I figured there wasn't a chance go get there in time. I thought for sure it would be tomorrow for some reason. A little bummed out, but I won't be going out of my way to get one either. I was gonna use mine for trade bait somewhere down the line. Oh well.

'Come out May 26th where all fans in attendance will recieve a Reuben Quevedo bobblehead' - Bob Uecker That might be the absolute best thing that Uecker ever said. Whether he meant it or not, it really is a shot a how watered down bobblehead giveaways have become.
I used to smoke, my wife is allergic to cigarette smoke, the smell of smoke bothers both of us. When my downstairs neighbor moved in he smoked in the house and it came straight up through the vents. We talked to him the first day and he was fine with going outside. Last night we were on our balcony and he went out to smoke, we could smell it, but it was for a few minutes and that was it. It wasn't intense, but we knew it was there. Our balcony vs his porch is about 15 feet, but straight up. I know you can vaguely smell smoke from a next door neighbor depending on where they are so even 25 feet apart I suppose the neighbor can smell it. Again it won't be intense like someone blowing it in your face, but you can smell it. All that said, your neighbor doesn't have any right to complain. You shouldn't have to walk down the street or go to the garage or bring a fan out or any of that. See if you can come to a compromise, but really it sounds like the neighbors are just looking for something to complain about. How do they deal with loud noise? Do you ever turn up your stereo? Any of you play drums? Maybe one of you could start?
I woke up early, checked twitter and saw nothing. I'll keep my eye on things. Just hope it happens either tomorrow morning or next week. Really don't want this to fall this weekend.
I got the Bernie the first year, and skipped out on Chorizo last year since I know that once you get one sausage yer basically committed to all 5. However, I'm gonna get one tomorrow, and I even convinced my wife (who LOATHES most of the Brewers related memorabilia crap I love) to join. So I might be able to do a trade for a Chorizo and become committed. Either that, or sell em both and put em towards my Hank Aaron Rookie (which I'll be getting at the National with Credit Card points and selling off all my useless CDs)
Were they being bid on at those prices or were they BIN at those prices? It's a cool pennant no doubt, but pennants don't really hold a ton of value. 50 at the high end?
That's a great find! I always wanted to get the Trevor Time clock they had at the gift shop, but I thought for sure it would hit a clearance price and it never did.
Anyone gone to the Clarion card shows? There's one Sunday that I'm gonna hit up. Looking forward to it since I haven't gone to a show since early fall.
Segura, Maldonado, Gorzelanny, Gonzalez, Roenicke, Henderson, Bernie Brewer, Sausage, Gord Ash, and Robin Yount Edit: I should clarify, I meant Candy Maldonado, not Martin
Go to a place like Dicks Sporting goods for a big stick. If I remember right they're roughly 30 bucks each. For baseballs, I think your best bet is to go on eBay and buy a dozen. The price on em has gone up over the past few years. They used to be had for 10 each. Looking at amazon.com (since eBay is prohibited at my school), they have some there for 165 (13.75 each) for a dozen. But I think you can get em closer to 145 (about 12 a ball) on the Bay. Most come with free shipping. If you can't find anything closer to that, a lot of card shops have em for 15 each, which is a little more, but the convenience factor is there. Make sure to get cubes for all the balls. I suggest Ultra UV Protected cases. They run a few bucks each or you can get a case of em for pretty cheap on eBay. They stack pretty nicely. Not sure how hard yer gonna go on this, but you might want to run over to an office supply place and get a label maker for 15 bucks. You might remember who's who, but you might not. It's also nice to have the balls labeled for when you show off yer collection to yer friends. Hit me up if you have any other questions. Oh as far as pens go, I personally I love balls signed with blue Bic Ultra Round Stic pens for sigs. Papermate blue pens work, but they they seem to die on me all the time. Bics last a long time and you don't ever have to "warm em up"
Bad New Bears is great so is Bull Durham. I still think there's a lot of fantastic one liners in Major League that I'll be quoting for a lifetime. I agree with everyone who said Field Of Dreams, its a little corny, but when the two play catch at the end, the water works get put on full blast. Even the scene with Moonlight Graham knowing he can't return to the field gets me.
Has anyone gotten their tickets yet? I changed addresses in fall, and while I gave the Brewers my new mailing address, there was a mixup on 10 pack tickets, and I'd hate for the same to happen with these.
I thought this would be more of a discussion. I would say comedy wise there's no quesion that it's Major League. I thought 42 was fantastic. My wife thought it was too much of a love story involved, but I felt that the love story was necessary since Rachael Robinson was not only Jackie's rock (and vice versa).
Wenz said he bought 100 tickets for each of 17 games at which the Brewers gave away bobble heads, and 500 for the game with the Robin Yount bobble. Wenz went for the cheapest seats he could get - bleacher tickets for as little as $5 each. You can't just hand in 100 tickets at Miller Park and get 100 bobble heads, however. You have to present a single ticket at the turnstile, collect one bobble head, exit, get back in line and start the process over again. Wenz doesn't want to do that. "I hire guys at 20 bucks apiece and they go in and out for me and I just stand there with the box," he said.
What I really wanna know is how many people in attendance had ANY idea who George Scott is. As we know he played before the playoff run in the 80's. Many fans can rattle off a lot of those players. But not many can tell you anything about those 70's teams unless they grew up in that era. My buddies were able to get me a couple by asking around (not sure if they got em from Cubs or Brewers fans). If it was a current player or one of the 82 guys, I think those percentages drop by a lot.
