  1. So far I've gotten the Sterban for 36 and the Ozzie for 31. Assuming I can snag one between 40-45, the current going rate, I'll be happy waiting it out. Those Braun's I'll keep my eye on, if that ends up sticking out around 50, then I guess that's what'll happen.
  2. You can easily negate anything that people love. baseball cards: printed cardboard. coins: pounded metal. stamps: sticky paper. beer cans: molded aluminum. etc, etc, etc. In the end people collect what they like. It'd be pretty boring if everyone I knew collected baseball memorabilia instead of whatever they show interest in. I have a friend that just dropped $500 on a 7" record (Minor Threat's first pressing, first 7") that I have a got a repress of for 4 bucks. While I can't ever see me spending that much, and I'm pretty confident my copy sounds better, I UNDERSTAND his passion for collecting and I joke with him, and he prods me for spending 100 bucks on a baseball card, or 100 bucks on a bobblehead. It's what you like, cherish it, enjoy it, some people will get it, others won't. It's what you like that matters, not your neighbor or someone on a message board.
  3. We went to Kiku last night which is probably a half mile away for sushi and that was pretty good too. We spent about 50 on dinner and drinks.
  4. Excuse my ignorance, who's playing? Is it just in Chicago now, or does it tour? I went to see the Ramones on their last tour about 15-17 years ago. I can't do festivals anymore, I get too worked up at the prices and people so I stopped. Last big fest I went to was Warped tour in 2001
  5. Nolan Ryan getting win number 300 Robin Yount getting hit number 3000 Alex Rodriguez getting homerun 400 Barry Bonds breaking the NL homerun record The Balk Off The Brewers clinching the 2008 Wild Card CC Sabathia's first game as a Brewer Bill Hall's mother day walkoff Ben Sheets breaking the franchise season strikeout record Ryan Braun's first Miller Park game But none of this beats the time where some hot drunk girls flashed our entire section in 2010.
  6. yah. i'm also hoping that once i move and clear stuff out, I have the boxes and can just sell em. I know some collectors don't care if there's a box or not. Some do. If I can get a bobble I don't have because there isn't a box, I still jump on it. The bidding is reduced so you can get em for cheaper. I can go to an Admirals game and get a blank box later and with bubble wrap no one is gonna really know the difference. The styrofoam on bobble wrapping breaks stupid easy. (Ben Sheets 2005, classic example)
  7. went out west in mid june and stocked up on all the micros i found out there. Got Kilt Lifter Scottish Ale, Grand Canyon mixer, Ska Brewery mixer and the Ska IPA I'd say the Ska Brewery IPA is one of my favorites. Kilt Lifter stands out too. If your in Arizona or Colorado, hunt em down. Also found Hamm's 24oz cans, which is more of a novelty than anything, but it's my favorite swill, and I can't find it anywhere in Wisconsin
  8. A few years ago a friend moved and gave me a handful of his bobbleheads. Unfortunately, they don't have boxes. I'm now in the process of moving and am looking to put some of these in boxes for protection. Is there a good place to buy the plain white boxes? Does a place like Office Max or something have them? Otherwise, if anyone has any empty boxes from the following lemme know, I'd buy em off you or trade or something. 2006 Derrick Turnbow 2006 Hot Dog 2007 Robin Yount Mini 2008 Prince Fielder 2010 Italian Thanks
  9. We've got four people on board. I'm looking for three more volunteers that feel confident in giving honest opinions on prices.
  10. I'm looking to do a price guide to add on to the list. I'm also looking to open it up a bit with public debate on what should be added to the master list, and what shouldn't be. There's been some recent debate, and after some consideration and discussion with a few other members I think it's only fair to take suggestions. In the end members should be able to collect what they want to collect anyway, and there's really no right or wrong way to do things as long as that individual is happy with their collection. I will say that I want to limit it to SGA's though. Retail versions can lead to a whole new can of worms with so many varieties out there. That's not to say that if someone is interested in creating a retail list, go for it. It's just not my thing so I'd be pretty much useless in that department. The focus of the price guide is so that the people on this board know when to not overspend. In some cases it may be necessary if it's one of the last ones you need for your set, but this way it might be easier to set a limit for yourself. I'm looking to get at least 7 people that collect bobbles pretty hardcore, have them each express what each bobble is worth in their opinion and I'll average them to the nearest dollar. I would do this through inbox messages so others aren't swayed by opinion if that seems fair. We can set the debate on any bobbles that should be added to the master list here. Also, just let me know if you'd be interested in helping me price these things out once a finalized list is made. Thanks, Corey.
  11. 31 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Richard-Sterban-SGA-Bobble-Bobblehead-Oak-Ridge-Boys-Nashville-Sounds-07-19-2012-/150862510025?pt=US_Baseball_Fan_Shop&hash=item23201b37c9
  12. I would think torn tickets are 50, and full tickets close to twice that. To have a whole uncut sheet though? WOOF! Very very cool piece.
  13. I have an extra. I'd rather make a trade for it if there's anyone that needs one. I haven't even looked to see what these are currently going for. This is what I'm missing if anyone wants to make an offer: NEED 18 Brewers: 2004 "Bernie Brewer" (Birthday) 2006 Bill Hall Track Suit (Employees) 2006 Mark Attanasio (Employees) 2011 Iceman 2012 Jonathan Lucroy Retro 2012 Yovanni Gallardo Retro NEED 12 Minor Leagues: 2004 Indianapolis Bob Uecker 2008 Helena Ryan Braun Alternate 2012 Wisconsin (Papermakers) 2012 Wisconsin (Fox Cities Foxes) 2012 Wisconsin (Rattlers Retro) 2012 Wisconsin (Rattlers Current)
  14. nice. maybe someone there will be there selling his first start ticket stub, as mine was recently stolen during a break in (though NONE of my other Brewers stuff was taken)
  15. miggs, did that guy Rex run a memorabilia shop? a co-worker knows a guy that did jail time for the same thing.... guys spend a lot of time chasing autographs to use as an ebay business, and i just can't see how that's economical. you need to invest in items to be signed, then stand around and hope you get something signed, by anyone. not many people will pay enough for most players to be worth it, and the stars rarely sign. then again, I guess unemployment checks help pay the bills too.
  16. I haven't gone there so I might be the best guy to answer this, but I have friends that used to go in the past, and you have to "earn" the respect of some of those guys. They're there for business, I'd imagine a poor business at that. Some of the guys get upset when newer people show up because it decreases their odds of getting someone to sign. Good luck over there, and don't take no guff!
  17. now we gotta try to get the laptop back. we're hoping they try to sell it to one of the local computer shops.
  18. Well, I'll have a few extras. I'll be interested to see what the going rate is after the game. Turbo, I agree, they don't look all that good. The arms appear to be as big as Princes head. Maybe bigger, hah
  19. Also, that game isn't sold out yet. I just bought 4 reserved tickets for 32.
  20. Nothing is really bugging me right now, but I recovered my bike on Wednesday. Stole it back out of some little jerks hands. Kid was trying to tell me it was his cousins bike that he's had for a month or so. It's now in safe keeping on the other side of town.
  21. 3 sold at 60 BIN so far. With a 19.95 shipping fee. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Prince-Fielder-Beast-Mode-Bobblehead-SGA-Snappers-Brewers-Tigers-w-Ticket-Stub-/330757139779?pt=US_Baseball_Fan_Shop&hash=item4d02a96d43#ht_516wt_932
  22. I agree jschris. People try to sell giant lots of brewers bobble set all the time on ebay or craigslist. There's not much of a thrill in getting a ton of things at once. And maybe the Corey Hart will go for 40. But do you think Richard Sterban will? I got my Braun AND Fielder in the low 30's shipped about 6 months after they came out because I knew that the "must have it now" collectors would bid each other out of the water and slowly they'd all get them and the price would drop. This is just how I collect em. Look at the price of the blue Charlie Moore. I paid like 50 for it in 2007. Last summer I bought one for 15. The Tony Plush bobble has been selling for 80. Do you think that price will hold? Even the Beloit Prince Fielder, which was for a long time considered the "Holy Grail" of Brewers bobbleheads has come down from 200 to 75. I shouldn't have said "ya'll are fools" but I enjoy the hunt, you guys enjoy the convenience. And putting down money when I think it is worth it versus just spending whatever money needed because something is available is two seperate things. At some point I'm gonna pull the trigger on a PSA 6 or 7 Hank Aaron rookie. That's gonna cost me more than a morgage payment. Possibly two.
  23. The guy wants 125 for the set of 3 delivered. Ya'll are fools if you think that's a deal. We all know waiting is the hardest part (Tom Petty)...but with a little patience, and knowing the bobble trend is on the decline, you can get each one for 25 with 6 dollar shipping in time.
  24. I'm in for 4 and I believe BrewersSuperCollector will be getting 2. We'll get the case of 6 shipped to one location...
  25. I'm in for 2 for sure. I have a few friends that might be interested in one as well. I haven't had an opportunity to talk to them yet, but I could be in for 5.
