  1. I would think most of us here may be interested in a handful that you have, but I don't think you'll have much luck finding someone to take ALL of it off your hands. I guess the best bet is to take them to a card shop if you wanna unload them without much hassle, but really, your best bet is to put a price on each one, get a table at a flea market or something, and go from there.
  2. yah, I started it last spring, my friends pets or kids break theirs and they don't really care much, so they started giving them to me...i wish i had thought of it when i went to more bobble games, you can almost always find a few broken ones on the way out of the seats. i only have like 5, but still, ya gotta start somewhere...they look good when they are faded and broken in planters.
  3. yah, i'll wait three years to get this if i have to. i got 2 for 75 each a long time ago from a BF.net guy, which at the time was a good idea. little did I know he got 30 for BF.net people to help them out, while another guy got the other 470 available
  4. tony, if you feel the other one is too far gone to sell lemme know....i keep a "broken bobble graveyard" in the garden in our backyard
  5. I sold one about a year ago for right around 75. I found it BIN for around 30. Flipped it immediately to help pay for my trip to Fenway.
  6. What Melvin should do is drag Brooks Keishnick out of retirement. That would take care of a few problems in one clean swope!
  7. Welcome to the board. Check your inbox.
  8. The 2012 season is just over 25% through and the Brewers are currently 9 games under .500. With the excecption of one early outing, Greinke has been stellar. I'm not sure the Brewers will be able to ultimately sign him to an extension before he hits free agency, and even so, can we afford him? How much will teams give up as a "rental" at a chance to go for it. Would Baltimore (provided still relevant in July)or Texas be willing to part with their top prospect shortstop at a chance to win it all? Milwaukee gave up LaPorta to get Sabathia, will other teams make that same type of move? I'm just starting to accept that even though it's relatively early, Memorial Day is usually when you get an idea of how a team can compete over the course of the season. Early injuries and overall bad play has made this a tough team to watch. Is it better to wait it out and try to sign Greinke or should Melvin see what he can do in trades knowing that Hecklethorn, Thornburg, Scarpetta, and Peralta are all very close to major league level?
  9. I love Centro. It's a small place on Center street in Riverwest. They have a good menu, and it's affordable, their specials are usually in the high teens, low 20's. The rest of their menu is 12-18ish. The only downfall is that because it's small it's a little tight, as they pack em in. Might not be best suited for this time out, but keep it in mind for down the road.
  10. or just cancel the fan vote and give him one due to unexpected circumstances...
  11. I've seen that video before but man, I'd like to go back and see that entire game again. Those K's at the 1:27 and 2:42 mark are insane. Like a whiffle ball but nastier.
  12. I'd prolly say the Gallardo Beloits at about 25-30, and all the full size ones at about 12-15. The Bratwurst probably closer to 10-12. If there's retros involved they can go up to 30ish. Maybe the Gantner to 40 on a good day. A lot of the 82 minis you can find on eBay for 5-7 if yer patient. The demand for Brewers bobbles is steadily dropping off since there's way to many out there no one wants to really begin collecting them at this point, and the people that are currently collecting them don't need any of those at thsi point. Just my opinion.
  13. The winner was Gill. BY 7 VOTES! Kinda a bummer, I didn't put a bunch of effort into promoting this to friends except for a facebook post, or maybe I would've won. Oh well. Thanks to those that voted for Sammy!
  14. I know a guy that might be willing to trade you Hoops. But I know he won't outright sell it.
  15. No. I think last year gathered a lot more hype behind them right off the bat. I hope people bump the prices up with fake accounts like last year. Late last season you could find Bernies regularly at Miller Park for $50. If the Brewers think they can profit off the chorizos as well, they'll make more. A coworker went and got one at 5:30 and told me that Miller Park was very organized, directing traffic, keeping people calm, etc. It sounds like people had a good experience, and the staff did a good job of correcting and anticipating any problems that people may have encountered.
  16. hah, if I asked my Fiance to get up at 5am for something like this, she'd tell me I was nuts and go back to bed.
  17. So did anyone get up and get one? There's already a few on eBay with 125 starting bids and 350 BIN. Sorry guys, I really don't think these will draw the same attention as last year. Also, if people REALLY want one, Miller Park will have em available in a month for 40 or 50 like last year.
  18. Though it's not clear, I'm assuming they're signed. It's probably not an accurate guess, but 1500 for the Braves. 2000 for the Dogers? Something that you may want to look into is getting them authenticated through PSA. They do on site grading, and there will be a show in Rosemont, IL in late june. http://www.mountedmemoriesshows.com/ You could always walk around to dealers and ask. You can be upfront and tell them your not selling, and most of them will give you some ballpark idea.
  19. I dunno if I'm gonna go out of my way for one. I really like the Bernie, but if they do the Chorizo, you know yer locked in for the next 4 years after this one. And I'd guess they are about 10 times bigger than a bobblehead. Maybe it's time for me to scale back.
  20. I think any collector that thinks they might be worth 1000 each probably has one and just trying to get the market up higher. I can't imagine it going for much more than the Attanasio one. Either way, that's why I was irked that they didn't make a mass bobble of him. He won the fan voting contest, deserved the bobble, but since the fans voted him in, shouldn't they get one of their favorite vendor? Makes no sense to give away that stupid bottle than one of Kent himself. Miller Lite coulda still sponsored it, and got their name out there. Nothing you can do I guess. I just doubt i'll ever own one.
  21. My cousin got married there last fall. we were allowed to sit on the dirt behind home plate for the ceremony, but they'd be on you like white on rice if you even touched the grass. i also wasn't allowed to go into the dugout for a quick picture, either. For the amount it costs, I'm glad to be getting married at a park pavillion.
  22. What BSC said. I was more or less surprised that Kent would be linked to selling them on his own. It seemed out of his character to do something like that. I'm glad to hear it wasn't him afterall. Still surprised someone would spend that much to a seller with no feedback.
  23. Jim, The Ice Man got the bobbles made because he won the fan voting for most popular beer vendor in 2010. They gave out Miller Lite bottle vendors, and some, including myself thought they'd be giving out ones of the Ice Man. It was a disappointment when fans were given those tacky things. Then later collectors find out they made those and were to be given away. I was happy with that, he gets to give them to valued customers, family members, and friends, but selling them is probably the last thing the Brewers wanted. Part of me thinks it's their fault though. They obviously know these were gonna end up on eBay by somebody. I'd find it hard to believe the promotional team woulda thought otherwise. As far as the Yount/Molitor charging, I dunno. I think people would pay whatever Molitor is charging, but I could easily see people wanting Yount more because he was the guy that spent his entire career in Milwaukee, and still makes appearances, etc.
  24. The Kent "Ice Man" Myer bobble just finished for 380. http://www.ebay.com/itm/261014641738?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_500wt_975 Any of you get in there? I can't justifty spending that much, which is probably why I'll never own any of the limited giveaways (Attanasio, Bill Hall Track Suit, Ice Man). Also, I dunno why anyone would spend that much on a guy with ZERO feedback. Hopefully the winner agreed to local pickup.
