  1. The lineups have been announced. I don't think the entire lineup is currently given, but all the bigger names are in here: https://www.mlb.com/brewers/fans/brewers-on-deck There's a couple of guys I'm looking forward to getting, mostly Knebel, Shaw, and Plesac. In years past they've done a lottery drawing for bigger names, but that's sometimes resulted in certain players not getting 250 people in line (Fingers, and Uecker). I'm mostly hoping the rummage (especially jersey selection) is better than last years.
  2. Thanks for the reply Jim! I kinda figured you'd be the one that could give me some solid estimates. Appreciate it!
  3. I'm teaching a finance class this semester and we've been discussing stocks. The Packers "stock" came up, and it had me thinking. We all know the value won't increase and you cannot cash it out or transfer it's name. But, how much do you think a collector would pay for an original share sold in the 1920s? There has to be collectors out there that would love to have that on display, even if it were under someone elses name.
  4. The "war on Christmas" is a complete joke that people made up just to rile up other people in their same voting allegiance. Us Libtard Snowflakes don't actually care as much you'd like to think. It's hilarious that people get so worked up that they feel they can't say "Merry Christmas". I've never heard anyone say "Merry Christmas" and have someone fire back "I CELEBRATE HANUKKAH" Personally I say "Happy Holidays" to people I don't know and "Merry Christmas" to those I do. I'm not even Christian. So it's hilarious celebrating something I don't even believe in! I saw a youtube vid of some guy saying his name was "Merry Christmas" at Starbucks so when his coffee came out the barista was forced to say Merry Christmas. How stupid is that? I know he was delighted that he put one over on some poor girl who's just trying to do her job. At the same time he just gave money to a business he doesn't support. (And he's prolly the same guy that destroyed his Keurig last month). How about maybe at the end of the day just respect that other people worship a god in a different way that you do instead of forcing others to make a big deal about it. Is that so difficult? Besides something like 20% of people regularly attend church anyway, so it seems hypocritical to insist we say two words that stand for something no one consistently spends time actually worshipping. Jesus now I'm worked up over this stupidity and I just came here to complain about my internet at home being awful lately.
  5. Recycle bin. I'm sure there is some interest for 50's and 60's, but doubt any value for 90's. You can always check eBay to get an idea though...
  6. I was cleaning last night and found six or seven "Rain checks" for an all fan giveaway from last season. I checked online, as I didn't even know what item they were for. All the new 2018 stuff is up, so it will always be a mystery. HOW DID I FORGET I HAD THOSE?!?!?! Kicking myself.
  7. I have a similar project going, though it's slowed down in the past year or so as I've gotten most of the TTM guys. I was trying to get players first Brewers card. Which is kinda tough with newer cards since there is so many sets out there. Thinking of just trying to get players on any card. A project I'll start back up later this winter or spring hopefully. I'm curious how you've gone about obtaining the non TTM guys? eBay? I can't bring myself to spend more than a couple bucks on a lot of guys. Pretty impressive though. Also, check your PM.
  8. Are you saying that Yount and Sutton have a grudge against Simmons, or are you saying that with those two being able to vote that should've been enough to get him in?
  9. matt, next time you hear about bases going on sale, please let me know. I obviously missed that or I surely would've gotten one.
  10. I got two jerseys. One was the "beer" colored for $40, and a St Patricks Day Spring Training jersey for $20. Also picked up a winter hat with ear flaps for my wife, that was $9. At some point after I went I guess they were selling the giveaway flags, but I didn't see them when I was there on Thursday. I'm curious how much the game used items sell, because the prices just keep increasing, but as I was looking through it all, I didn't really see anyone buying. I did contemplate buying a base, though. Just couldn't get myself to spend $150 on it. We'll see if they show up at the On Deck event. I also got the Davies bobblehead.
  11. You get a jersey and hat too? If I was closer to Rockford I'd be all over that.
  12. SUPER JEALOUS. D-Train was so fun to watch when he was in Florida. I have an Aoki Jersey that I wear a good amount. Last year at the rummage they were selling spring training jerseys. I got one with no name and 99 on the back. I've been wearing that. I was hoping I could get a name put on it, but no one has worn 99. I refuse to put "Bat Boy" on there, either. I also have a Gary Mathews jersey that I pull out from time to time. That's the only other game used jersey I'd throw on. The rest of em I won't wear.
  13. Now's as good of time as any to check this out. Hasn't been updated in 6 years. Ha http://www.brewerfan.net/ViewPower50.do
  14. Peavy, what do those cut autos generally go for? I'm sure that they've gone up since the last you've seen them, but I'm just curious.
  15. Since those guys played so early on, do McNally or Michalske even have any "real" cards that came out in his playing days? Index cards might be your best bet. Though I don't know much about football memorabilia.
  16. If anyone will have an extra, lemme know.
  17. Those guys can't be too far behind... With even somewhat better arms than those guys we might be 10-12 games over .500 right now.
  18. Last year they gave out Bernie Chalet shirts where there is a mug of beer on the shirt. There are other shirts that given out that have the Miller Lite logo on them. The "beerd" thing is kinda dumb, but this is really nothing to get worked up over.
  19. Today the Brewers are MLB.com's free game of the day. Every other person in the universe can watch this game, with our without cable, but those in this viewing area cannot watch it because of local blackout restrictions. At least I can listen to the game on my computer at work. Still irritated.
  20. First and foremost: I'd look on eBay or Amazon for shirts. Target has "official" Brewers gear but most of it is pretty limited, and what they do have is usually very craptacular IMO. The jerseys/shirts they offer don't look anything like the actual team would wear. Different fonts, etc. Kohl's is better, but choices again will be limited. Lids is your best option for hats, and they usually have some kind of deal and free shipping. Tailgating: You can get a disposable grill for under $10 at hardware stores. If you can't find one, get a small grill ring for $6-7 and you can use a foil pan for charcoal. But you also have to get a spatuala, charcoal, food, etc. Personally I think it's worth it if you haven't gotten to tailgate before, but depending on the time you have, you might not want to run around and shop for all these things if you are renting a car. Food inside: I think a must is a brat/polish/italian with onions or kraut and "dipped" in secret sauce. Cactus League nachos are pretty great too. Miller Park recently added a lot of micro brews. Third Spaces Happy Place or Good City's Motto are my favorite beers in Milwaukee right now if you are into pale ales. Lakefront's Riverwest Stein and New Glarus' Spotted Cow are the Wisconsin micro flagships though. As for things to do in the city: I'm not sure how long you have in Milwaukee (I haven't read everything posted previously), but my highest recommended thing to do is the Lakefront Brewery tour. I feel it's a staple tourism thing to do and they have a great fish fry to boot. You will most likely have to get the tickets for the tour in advance as the tours tend to sell out. They have root beer for minors. The Milwaukee Art Museum is worth checking out, as is the Milwaukee County Zoo. Both pretty good options for kids (not sure how old they are).
  21. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was great, especially in 3D. Is this a lifetime list or just current? Because Good Fellas is absolutely a must see.
  22. I don't have cable, and while I have MLB.TV all Brewers games are blacked out. I see more games in person than on TV. I've only been to three this year, with two more coming up soon. I try to listen to games on the radio here and there. I mostly just get to listen to the 105.7 post game show. I try to watch highlights after the game. This all said, if anyone wants to inbox me with their Fox Sports Go password, that would be probably the nicest thing ever.
  23. Are they print off tickets or can you get em at Will Call? When going to a new stadium I like getting the hard copy, and not some print off to keep as a souvenir. I know some people don't care about that kinda thing, but I like to have it.
  24. Comerica is great and the view of the skyline is pretty incredible from what I remember. I can't say much else, I went 15 years ago. We parked, walked in, went back to the car and drove home. Drove there, went to the game, drove home. We were trying to catch Clemens get his 300th win and it was a spur of the moment, "college-type" thing to do. I was at the Rogers Centre last year and there wasn't much for attraction within the park. However, looking out onto the field was enjoyable. There's a lot of various spots for standing room. I'd suggest getting a cheap ticket, check out a few innings from the upper deck, then move down and watch from Robby Alomar's #12 patio, and from there move around to other standing areas where there is good views throughout. The peameal (pork) sandwich is really good too. All prices will be more than what they really are because of currency exchange. $11 US is roughly $15 Canadian. When in Toronto, get a hot dog from a street vendor. Best hot dog I ever had. Steamwhistle Brewery is right across the street from the park. They make one beer, a Czech Pilsner. And they do it really really well. I brought home a 12 pack. There's another couple breweries close to the stadium worth checking out too. If you get a chance hit up Chinatown. Rock N Roll Hall of Fame is a few blocks away from the Jake (or Progressive, I guess). Besides that, again, it was about 12-15 years ago when I went.
  25. Forever Collectables is selling Bernie Chalets again at Miller Park. There were the Chalet giveaways from Sentry a long time ago, then about 5-7 years ago they had more for sale, instead of the Sentry logo, they had the ball and glove logo. I believe they are the same size. Now they have basically the same ones from then for sale again for $30. They are a little bit bigger than the previous chalets, though this one is a bank, unlike the the other retail chalet. Some guy is selling them regularly for about $60 on eBay. Probably because they look just like the old ones, I've been told those reach up to $200 (which is stupid). The guy at the Brewers booth said they can't keep em in stock. Glad I got one, prolly shoulda bought 5.
