  1. Thanks. I added it in, though I put a question mark next to the year and how it was distributed. I'm guessing it was for office employees like the Attanasio one, but I'm not certain. The only high dollar bobbles I got on the cheap were Mr 3000, and the Bernie Stitch N Pitch (which I sold my extra when it was sitting around $175 for sometime. I mighta only gotten $150 for it. I don't remember) Woulda been nice to trade that one now for an Attanasio, Bill Hall or Iceman. I think I sold the Chorizo Stitch n Pitch years ago for about $50. Oh well.
  2. What do you guys knows about this bobble? Apparently 100 or less were made? One sold on eBay for $175 in April. When did it come out? Is $175 the average going rate? I need to add it to the list. Thanks.
  3. I'm sure they didn't do anything about changing the box. But the ones we all got do say "first edition" on them. It woulda been cool if these had "second edition" On a side note, got my shelves made at my new house so I can display my bobbles again. I've got space for 160. Which means I'm gonna probably be selling off a lot of the ones I don't care about anymore.
  4. Has she moved out yet? A brick through the window of her new place is one way to send a message. I say this half seriously.
  5. Yup, that is exactly true. I emailed them to complain that a lot of people had already bought tickets, and had they known about the signed promotion, people would have bought that one instead. They got back to me, offering to replace my tickets and vouchers with the special signed bobble tickets but I'd have to pay the difference in ticket price. (signed promo was $89 per ticket) I passed because I didn't have tickets to begin with since I couldn't make that game. I was just annoyed that they offered that special ticket at the last minute, long after most already had tickets. They often do this fly by the seat of your pants crap for promotions. You'd think that a MLB team could do better... And because it was a fly by the seat of your pants "rare" promo, that's exactly why Brian is willing to pay a lot of money for one. I bought 4 tickets to the Beer Vendor game because I thought it was gonna be the Ice Man. Then it was a Miller Lite bottle. Months later there IS an Ice Man bobble and its selling for $300+. Never got one, and unless one fell in my lap for way less, I probably never will. If it's signed at a signing, or presigned, who cares? It's still signed.
  6. Doc, might be too late. He said if he couldn't buy out Doug, it would most likely be closed by Friday.
  7. Only two that I have seen all season that seem like they are being inconvenienced by being there are Monte Harrison and Stervyn Matos (they acted like that last year too, so it seems to be the norm) My two cents is: It's not like these guys are even close to being top 30 prospects. Harrison is batting .160, and has struck out 40 times in 100 ABs. Meanwhile, Matos is batting .059 with 20 strikeouts in 60 ABs. I know you enjoy getting autos by the Timber Rattlers, but the chances of either of these guys getting past AA (even sniffin AA doesn't seem likely at this point). I wouldn't waste my time worrying about them or their garbage attitudes.
  8. I didn't even know there was a signed one. Heck, I haven't even looked at either of mine yet. I remember when they used to have a limited number of signed ones back in the mid 2000's. I would just find out where they signed it and get the it signed in the same spot during an auto fridays. I'm sure Lucroy will be doing one more signing somewhere between now and the time he gets traded (assuming he doesn't get traded by the end of May). I'd just get a regular one and get it signed. Is there some kinda promotional card that came with it, or did it just come signed in a box?
  9. I stopped over there Monday. Got a Sabathia ball for 40 and some binder sheets. Doug's assistant is trying to buy out the store from him, but was unsure if that would happen. Unfortunately, they never had a great selection of cards I was interested in. All higher end cards were never of great quality, dinged up, O/C, etc. They did have a Nolan Ryan rookie I was semi interested in, but he wanted 550 for it (it was listed at 750). It was O/C, and probably woulda graded out at at 5 O/C (about a 200-300 card if graded).
  10. They're pretty cheap on eBay, but your spending 3 bucks a pop on shipping. I figured someone on these boards has a bunch of em tucked into a box somewhere.
  11. Thinking about collecting the Brewers pocket schedules. Anyone have extras they are willing to part with?
  12. Wow. I'll have to go over there. All things considered, Doug isn't that old. I tried to get a part time summer job there a few years ago (he hired a high school kid over me, LOLZ) I'll need to go over there in the next few days. Thanks for the heads up.
  13. Saw it during that blowout on Saturday. Loved it. Being a memorabilia guy, I enjoyed seeing all the stuff where Bud's office is and then in the final exit room. I'd definitely see it again.
  14. I got back into cards when I started getting bored (and started to run out of room) with bobbleheads four or five years back. When I got back in though I knew I loved the cards from the 50's and 60's, so I began collecting the Milwaukee Braves team sets. I also buy cards of the players I loved as a kid (Griffey, Yount, Canseco, Bo, Ryan). Last summer I finished my run of unopened boxes of cards from 79-90 (Topps, Donruss, Fleer, Upper Deck). I dabbled in modern but after ripping through a few boxes, it wasn't worth the cost of a box, because you spend X amount of dollars trying to hit on some /100, /25, or /1 card. I had fun opening them though, and it brought me back to when I was 12. At least I know with what I'm collecting now, the value won't decrease. There's only a handful of bobbles that are still climbing in value (I'm still kicking myself for selling my Bernie Stitch N Pitch for $150), while most have dropped. I know that's not the point of collecting for most, but someday I'm gonna go off the air, and I'd like for my wife (and kids someday) to be able to get the most out of what I invested in. That's just me though.
  15. I have a friend that's getting back into baseball cards. He posts on Facebook the packs he opens and is thrilled when he gets a Clayton Kershaw or a Buster Posey base card. All these other people comment like "Oh wow, those have to be worth a lot!" and I'm like "There's a million of that card. Each one is about $0.25."
  16. I don't even know if Hunter Morris is still in baseball. He really shoulda got a call up in September a few years back though. I don't even think it'd go for 20 at this point. A white eraser will take that signature right off.
  17. I just discovered this. Login to tmobile.com/mlb while on the network (not connected to wifi). Tmobile gave away the audio streaming in past years, awesome they are giving away mlb.tv this year. Just signed up today, and while it's a bummer I can't get Brewers games, I'm excited that I can finally watch the playoffs without finding a streaming site that works, getting through all those popups, hooking up my laptop to the tv, etc etc. Tonight I got home and just trying it out watched part of Wednesdays Brewers game (you can watch the archived games), Half of the Red Sox/Blue Jays, and then when that was a blowout turned on Twins/Royals. Now, can I watch MLB Network too through this or do I need a cable provider? It'd be awesome to watch highlights before going to bed. I haven't had cable in about 8 years, and having this ability is very exciting. For those that have t-mobile, you have until the 10th to sign up I believe. It's also way easier to download the app through the Play Store than through the t-mobile site.
  18. So they will be just the repeats from last year?
  19. Both are about in the 20-25 range normally. Not many have shown up on eBay lately either based on completed listings. Your best bet is go to Gonzaga and see if someone there has em, and see if you can haggle with em. Or hold out for em as an auction. Sometimes you gotta just pull the trigger, is 5-10 bucks extra worth it to you to complete a set? For a minimal price difference, it's nice to know you have em all. My two cents.
  20. I'm sorry to hear your about all of your losses. I think cats deal with losing another pet differently from dogs, but I would just do everything I can to give your other cat extra attention, maybe get it a few new toys just to keep it active and let em know your thinking about them. I'm no expert, but I'd imagine that extra bit of love would go a long way.
  21. I just checked out your store. IMHO outside of the bobbleheads, it mostly seems like the inventory is just stuff you'd find at a rummage sale. That might be good for some people, but there wasn't really anything that interested me. That's just me though.
  22. The Hancock building has a feature where you lean up against the windows and then it tilts out so yer facing down. My wife, who is extremely afraid of heights, almost lost it when we did that. Everyone in the room was getting a kick out of her fear. She was in good spirits after. Have you thought about places to eat yet? Geno's East is fun for kids because you can write on the walls, and the deep dish pizza is pretty good too. As far as transportation goes, I would determine if parking is available wherever hotel you are staying at and either take the train or Uber around. Parking on the street is generally hard to find, and to pay for lots will add up quick.
  23. I haven't seen this anywhere else on the boards, and if this belongs in Off Topic, then by all means move it. As I'm sure you have read by now Brew Crew Ball has a theory that the original Hank the Dog has been replaced. Tomorrow (Friday) the Brewers are holding a press conference about it. http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2016/03/03/166077336/brewers-announce-hank-the-ballpark-pup-conference This is kinda surreal, but I guess not surprising since old ladies and kids NEED to know the truth. Anyway, chime in, don't, whatever.
  24. Exactly, that extra cash could actually go to the Brewers with another game, buying concessions, a t-shirt, whatever instead of going through a ticket company and then you print them on your own at home
