From Mccalvy Counsell on Phelps vs. Polanco while Hader got loose: "I just wanted [Hader] in case David got in a bind there. It was David’s inning. We were going to give David the inning. Once we got two outs, I got [Hader] up in case something happened there. But it was David’s inning." So it was Phelps inning because it was Phelps inning.....apparently

3 game losing streak going.....short season.....4 days rest for your 2 best pitchers.....1 on 2 out with a left handed hitter up with some pop in bottom of the 8th.....Williams and Hader both dominate lefties.....and we lose without either of them getting in to the game...... Just brutal decision making in this one......

I didn’t like it but give Freddie credit......he can strike guys out. It just seemed so obvious to go Williams, Phelps and Hader for 1 each......it’s not like that would tax them after 4 days off.

Well we have a lead with our big 3 rested......it would be be nice to give them a little cushion
