  1. How much would an average defensive SS make if he could walk every at bat? My guess is A LOT.................
  2. So he leaves it up to the players to do something he doesn't really want them to do....... Managers certainly can tell players to hit away and not bunt. RR clearly does not want to exercise that power. Its the same way he handles everything. He manages like its more important for him to be liked then to do what is needed to try and win the game. Somebody has to be in charge and RR seems to want to manage by consensus. I just don't know of any good manager(in any profession) that manages like he does.
  3. We have a manager who really doesn't like to "manage"...........how about taking some responsibilty for the outcome of the game? If you don't think its a good idea then tell your players what you want them to do. His managerial style appears to be.....The players know what to do so I pretty much leave it up to them. Roenicke did not order the bunt and wasn’t particularly enthused that Hart, who later collected two hits off Bumgarner, gave himself up. But he then said the hitter usually knows best in those situations. "That’s his decision there to bunt,” said Roenicke. “He knows he’s supposed to get the guy over. If it’s a pitcher where he thinks it’s going to be tough to do, if that’s what he thinks he needs to do, then he does it. “In that situation, you’d like to think he’s going to swing the bat to get him over. The hitter is the one who knows what’s going on. He knows how the pitcher is throwing to them. I kind of leave it up to them. If he thinks he needs to push a bunt, then that’s his decision.”
  4. Not sure why RR feels he has to push Yo another inning when we have a day off tomorrow.
  5. Because we make so many that they have twice as many chances?
  6. This team is just a comedy of errors. Giants with a joke of an every day lineup but yet our mistakes allow them to to be winning the game.....again.
  7. Another day another stupid out on the bases........what else is new. Make that 54.... http://twitter.com/Haudri...status/95208472718745600
  8. Yes RR really is that stupid..... McGehee went to second on the throw home, then moved to third when Betancourt smacked a single off the glove of Vogelsong. With Betancourt breaking for second, Stewart faked a throw down and McGehee came down the line, becoming an easy out when the catcher chased him down. Roenicke took responsibility for that out. “We’re trying to do something with two outs and two strikes,” said Roenicke. “If you wait until he throws the ball, you’re not going to be safe. We were trying to get a run somewhere and they didn’t go for it.”
  9. Seder got bailed out there........nice work by the Crew......Cain is tough
  10. Nice swing Yuni......he is having a nice road trip at the plate
  11. Giants are 24-4 at home when they score at least 3 runs..........Now that is an impressive pitching staff.
  12. Bunting Ryan Braun would be grounds for dismissal. Pujols doesn't hit a home run everytime up either....how many times do you think he is called on to sacrifice bunt? RR takes alot of heat here already.....if he had bunted Braun I think BF.net would have melted down and Braun woudl have had a closed door meeting with RR after the game.
  13. Prince has the same swing in the derby that he does in games so I doubt that has anything to do with it. He is just in a slump and looks like he needs a day off.
  14. Your kidding right? Please tell me you don't think its a good idea for Ryan Braun to bunt in that or any other situation? Not sure why this is blue, a bunt is a good play therePretty sure I would almost never have my 3 hitter lay a bunt down....down 2 runs.
  15. yes 9 shutouts going on 10. Hard to win when you don't score a run. I would have easily taken 4-4 (which they will have if they lose today) but winning 3 out of 4 here would have been nice with 3 more tough games at SF.
  16. I agree Fielder needs a day off. He is really pressing. Hart is in the same boat.
  17. So could somebody ask RR why we just brought up Carroll since he is a worse hitter then Gamel and might struggle up here as well? Fans are smart enough to realiaze that Green is not guaranteed to have a big impact at this level. Its also not guaranteed that he won't just because Gamel struggled. I think most if us just feel he should be given a chance....especially considering we don't need Yuni, Wilson and Counsell on the team at the same time. One backup SS is enough . Green could play both 3rd and 2nd while giving you a legitimate platoon candidtate at 3rd.
  18. what a start for Narvy.........first pitch curve ball has been fantastic tonight
  19. You don't hit and run with a guy on 2nd and 2 outs.......no advantage to it because you don't open up +#!@@+ in the infield...no way it was a hit and run
