  1. Yah, I'm not sure what keeping Tyler Roberts in Arizona in accomplishing. He's pretty sound on defense and is obviously overmatching Arizona League pitching. A few years after Lawrie moving off of catcher, and a few months after Salome moving off of catcher and with Lucroy in Milwaukee, we have Anderson Delarosa starting games in AAA, some guy named Dayton Buller in AA, probably-not-a-catcher Shawn Zarraga in A+, decent prospect Garfield in A ball and the uber-platoon of Dean, Pechek and Ogrinc in Helena. Oof.
  2. Marty McCleary fans, prepare to be disappointed. Chuck Lofgren gets the start in game two for Nashville.
  3. Per agent39 (Josh Kusnick) on the minor league forum, Lorenzo Cain has been promoted to Milwaukee as of tomorrow.
  4. Only the classiest of teams issue a 4th inning intentional walk.
  5. Nice to see Cody Hawn back in the lineup for Helena, albeit at DH. Odorizzi is a pitching monster.
  6. I also hope that means Rivas is getting bumped to Nashville.
  7. I've been a pretty big Dave Bush fan in the past, but I think that its unlikely he'll be on the team next year and even more unlikely that he'll be part of the next Brewers playoff team, so if someone is booted from the rotation, it should be Bush. He's just not been the same since taking that line drive last year. Perhaps he can add a few MPH to his fastball and build some value as a reliever before the trade deadline. I also agree the Brewers need to be finished jerking Parra around. Leave him in the rotation for the rest of the year. Give him that time to develop and re-evaluate his status in the offseason.
  8. Watten was switched out of the rotation a few weeks ago and now he goes on the DL... I wonder if he's dealing with a dead arm or something of that nature.
  9. Reggie Keen has scored 5 runs in his first 5 official pro AB's. That must be some sort of record.
  10. The "c" in his name is not capitalized. Lucroy.
  11. I was trying to describe this to my wife and putting it in the context of a baseball game wouldn't it be something along the lines of at least a 40 inning baseball game? That's crazy.
  12. Rogers has now matched the total of innings he threw last year during the regular season and the most innings he's thrown in any year are 98.2, but that was five years ago. I wonder what the Brewers' plan is for him in terms of an inning cap. He looks to be on pace for around 120 innings... is that too many?
  13. Mustaches and two-inning saves... John Axford is a man out of time.
  14. The Nashville Sounds box score from tonight informs me that Chris Smith accepted his assignment to AAA and Mike McClendon has been activated from the 7-day DL. Edit: To get down to get Nashville to the 24-man roster limit, it appears that A.J. Murray was either released or he opted out of his contract. Edit 2: It further appears that Sam Narron was activated in Nashville.
  15. I wait for the inevitable joke of when Garman is unable to locate the strike zone. Walla with 3 K's in 4 AB's. Not the way I was hoping he'd start out. It's so nice to be able to follow all the younger kids again. Yay summer!
  16. Orton Rodriguez sees Huntsville's offense and raises it a pinch-hit WALK-OFF GRAND SLAM for a 9-8 win. Go DSL Brewers!
  17. I never saw anything about the Kankel signing, but he was bolded on our signings page, so I just assumed that I missed something. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif On a related note, every time I read his name I think of John Madden. "Look at the cankles on that guy... he doesn't have any ankles! Ahuhuhuh!"
  18. He probably saw Marty McCleary get a start in front of him and he said "enough."
  19. Luis Guerrero is out this year with an arm injury, as is Jose Ramos, who doesn't show up on the DSL roster. Pedro Lambertus does show up on the milb.com DSL roster, though. I have the following carryovers from last year's DSL team as unaccounted for: Henri Olivo, Francisco Rivero, Jaime King and Edwin Linares. I seem to remember reading something about Linares being hurt, but I can't find it. Finally, 33rd rounder William Kankel doesn't show up on either list. He's pretty new to pitching, so he might end up in Arizona.
  20. Actually, having negative data on your driving record would be the consequence of breaking the law.
  21. The Cardinals will be on the hook for the pro-rated minimum, we owe the remainder. In other words, we save somewhere in the neighborhood of $250,000 if he stays on the major league roster for the rest of the season.
  22. I always just assumed it was the former, and that's how Anderson pronounces it, isn't it?
  23. We're a little over a third of the way through the year and the only people still in the bullpen from opening day are Villanueva (who almost didn't make the team) and Hoffman (who surely didn't expect to be where he is in the pecking order now). Amazing.
  24. Yikes. The Brewers might well take it easy with him after he signs.
  25. From that same link to TH's blog, he updated it to say Chris Smith's contract has been purchased.
