  2. Did Tavarez place a bet on 6.5 over before the inning started? Why did he cut that ball off?
  3. Since I am going to once again quote myself, I will bow out of this: Within great works, the tiny inventions are usually what make them great. Most of the great works are derivative to a large degree. It's the little things, the changes, the new ideas, that make the difference.
  4. To quote myself: That's not to say that the 10 albums you picked out weren't really good and enjoyable to listen to. Good musicianship and songwriting skill always have their own merits. But there are almost always extremely derivative.
  5. The definition you quoted fits your needs, but it certainly isn't the only definition. I usually think of derivatives as more mathematical in nature than anything else. Now if math offends artistic circle, I can't control that.
  6. I also never said that. Within great works, the tiny inventions are usually what make them great.
  7. I never dismissed anything, or insulted anything. And the section of that post I didn't quote proved my point that everything is derivative. Thanks. =)

  9. Next thing on Ned's docket: figuring out in-game strategy.
  10. There are only as many instruments, chords and notes as we limit ourselves to having. And of course my argument isn't specifically about music. Virtually everything is derivative. That's why great art is so rare.
  11. I thought you were supposed to intentionally walk Chipper Jones.
  12. Seth McClung being in the rotation might have something to do with it.
  13. All of the sudden, McClung has a 4.80 ERA and is a terrible pitcher again.
  14. Dream on, my friend Like I was saying... I was in no way suggesting it wasn't a good idea on your part. I was in no way suggesting that you were suggesting that... Now I'm as confused as Seth McClung.
  15. Dream on, my friend Like I was saying...
  16. And on cue... what ya gotta say now, Rock?
  17. Rock: "You're doing the Brewers a favor by doing that." "That" being letting Johnson steal second and walking Jones. I'm speechless.
  18. FWIW, Braun probably had the base stolen if Hart just would have ducked.
  19. Braun tried to steal third, Hart ducked but also stepped backward, the throw went into left field, Braun was called out on batter's interference.
  20. No, Corey backed out of it. Drr. His left foot was out of the box.
  21. Mid-game roof closing. Ooooooo. I wonder if Branyan is up there pushing it?
  22. I hope that if they pull McClung here (which I hope they do), they send him to the bullpen and have him make another 20-30 pitches. We need him to be able to push his pitch count if he is to stay in the rotation.
  23. Another good defensive play by Branyan, what a surprise.
  24. You nailed it, crewcrazy. If that play makes Weeks "Idiot of the Year" he has a couple co-winners.
