  1. I would not have guessed that the worst time to be caught stealing or picked off was going from 1st to 2nd with one out and a runner on third. Makes sense I guess. That's a really interesting chart. Thanks for sharing that. Edit: After looking at it again, did I understand the situation correctly? Does the chart mean the "CS" is the guy going from 1st to 2nd, the guy going from 3rd to home, or both?
  2. Whenever I think "jo jo" I think jo jo potatoes. Mmmmm. http://chocolateandzucchini.com/archives/images/veggies/jojopotatoes.jpg
  3. Gigantic ads that expand and/or move around, and take up half the screen until you can locate the "Close" button.
  4. http://www.jir.com/graph_contest/OneGraph.jpg I understand it now.
  5. Why does the steel ball get a steel plate? I want to know how the super ball would perform on a surface of super ball material.
  6. That's kind of harsh. Why do you think he'll probably fail in the long run?
  7. Which begs the question, which regular *isn't* putting himself on the map? This had been just an unbelievable season for virtually everyone. I mean... Gillespie and Errecart are just ho-hum with 900+ OPSes. Mike Bell is toiling with an OPS that Corey Hart won the league MVP with. Buck Rogers brought the good ju-ju with him.
  8. Pitchfork.tv has a feature on Steve Reich, featuring a bit of Thurston Moore. One of the interviewees is So Percussion, who IMO have done the worst version of "Drumming" out there. So's recording had the glockenspiels so badly mic'ed that your ear drums would split at almost any volume. But it's good anyway. And pay attention for Hanson.
  9. He's not a shortstop prospect, no. He has decent range at second, adequate range at third. He'd play SS like Loretta or Cirillo play SS.
  10. According to my arithmetic, the Brewers will be paying Tavarez $267,150. That's the prorated amount of the $390,000 minimum MLB salary he'll receive.
  11. Free Scott Hatteberg! Maybe he can pitch. Or still catch.
  12. Enjoy our selection of 100+ buffet items, featuring Chinese dishes, Mongolian BBQ, sushi, and standard American cuisine. http://atlanticbuffet.com/logo04_400.jpg
  13. Two things I've learned about the Twin Cities southern metro in the past week: -There's a restaurant off of 494 in Bloomington called "Atlantic Buffet" - that's fine. The weird thing about it is they serve "Mongolian and Sushi." Sushi I can start to wrap my mind around but since when does Atlantic = Mongolian? -Presently when traveling north out of Hastings towards St. Paul on Highway 61, you are simultaneously driving on North Highway 61 and Alternate South Highway 61.
  14. Roundabouts are saints! I drove Rustic Road 51 today in western Wisconsin. It is the prettiest Rustic Road I've driven. It crossed a trout stream (like... in the road) a few times. My SUV actually got to be an SUV!
  15. Roundabouts are pretty much my favorite thing in the world. Sometimes I drive out of my way just to go through a roundabout intersection. There seem to be more sprouting up every day. Oooooooooo.
  16. What do you think about that?
  17. No. But what is that saying really? He won't struggle to keep his ERA under 8?
  18. I'm not going to go so far as to say I'll root against him. I will say I hope he fails miserably in situations that do not preclude the team from winning. Like... he gives up 9 runs when we're up by 13.
  19. There are few things Russell Branyan does not know. I'm not saying he's omniscient or omnipotent or anything but I'm not saying no either.
  20. Weeks' defense has been notably better this year, IMO. I'd much rather have him there long term than Hardy.
  21. I've got just the thing for you.
  22. Wow. Dude hit a grand slam. Way to bring it back to earth, Al.
