  1. imposed stuff is rarely fun Unless you're into that sort of thing
  2. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/no/e/e7/This_Machine_Kills_Fascists.gif
  3. This thread is not necessary, as you started almost the exact same one in the major league forum.
  4. I am going to go to work and assume nothing is going to happen. When I get back and nothing goes down, I'll not be disappointed. If something does go down, here's my prediction: Eric Gagne and John Reinecker for Tony Gwynn, Zack Jackson, Greg Aquino and Steve Hammond.
  5. Iribarren has been solid since April. The Southern League is a tough place to hit, and he's done enough to advance to AAA next year. Very few hitters get a lot better in AA for the Crew.
  6. Cubs lose, Brewers don't lose, LaPorta homers in his first official swing as a pro, the Brewers don't trade away any top prospects for noodles. Sounds like a great day!
  7. I was hoping Periard threw a bit harder, but that's not bad. Keep in mind that he threw about 6-7 MPH slower when they drafted him 3+ years ago. He has a decent frame, hasn't pitched a ton in his life, and could well add another 2-3 MPH later on. And while he still needs work on his offspeed stuff, it isn't a huge worry right now. He's not a front-line prospect, but still has very good stuff and could blossom in the near future. I'm very, very high on Alexandre.
  8. LaPorta is the DH. I have a sneaking suspicion that LaPorta won't be long for Helena.
  9. If the Brewers could get Gagne for Gwynn, Jackson and Hammond, I'd consider it, but you know the Rangers are after starting pitching, and we can only dilute our depth there so much before it severely limits what we can do in the future.
  10. I cringe at what we'd have to give up to get Gagne for 25 innings. Since we've already parted with Inman, I dare not even speak the names of who could be going to Arlington.
  11. We're still in first place, and will continue to be for at least 26 hours. Woot.
  12. Hinton throws in the low 90's, with possibly the best slider in the system. Yes, he has been (and IMO continues to be) a "hot" prospect.
  13. This is all just sick. I'd like to describe this in more apt words, but they are not appropriate for this forum. Who really cares about a video that would have been destined to end up on "Extreme Police Chases"? I've never understood the reasoning behind news copters following this sort of stuff. I am disgusted that this had to happen before we realize what advertisers pay us to watch. Just horrible. Let me pay sympathies to the families of all that died in this needless, vouyerstic debacle. Just... absolutely needless. Edit: The vapid inhumanity of the American public is shocking. I threw up after watching all of that... most people are going to watch it and just be like, hey, that sucks. I can't make any more comments without bringing this political, but this is one of the many reasons that makes me want to move out of the western hemisphere.
  14. i'm beginning to think he's our new #1... Oi vey, we're back to 6 years ago.
  15. Basically, the Brewers got him so Maddux can slap him on the back of the head and tell him pitch. And bullpen depth next year.
  16. Jeffress not pitchin' too bad. Edit: Helena wins! Playoffs for everyone not based in Maryvale!
  17. a) It would be within the division b) His dad's the pitching coach c) He's pre-arby.
  18. McClung has a decent, good-velocity fastball, good curve, no third real pitch. Command problems. TJ surgery about 3 years ago. Was a top 10 prospect as a starter in the TB system as recently as 3 years ago. Profiles strictly as a reliever now.
  19. What has it been, 45 minutes? Which is only 3 minutes longer than he usually takes between pitches.
  20. This has to be a bigger deal, if it wasnt why is it taking so long to make a trade for a PTBNL? I virtually guarantee this is a player for player swap.
  21. I suspect what we receive for Grant Balfour won't be quite the haul San Diego got for Linebrink. Can we just trade him to SD and get Thatcher back?
  22. If I want to say something sarcastic, how do I do that? What does pink+blue equal?
  23. Looks like he was injured back in '04, and his numbers tailed off sharply afterwards.
  24. When I lived in Wisconsin, TMJ still had Len Casper, and John Jaegler (sp?) would also do sports from time to time. I loved listening to the Greene House back then... they oftentimes had me rolling. I was lucky enough to leave once Michaels replaced Casper (and sorta Jeff Reardon, whom I heart) full time. That guy sucks, and I'm sorry you have to listen to him.
  25. The third picture is my favorite of the group. The explosion is in almost perfect focus. Great job on all of them. I wish I was lucky enough to have a camera with me when things like this happened. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
