  1. "You want an empanada, suit?" Lol. Drama was in rare form, even for him, last night. Porta-potties in the hallway is priceless, as well as was Turtle's deal with the lady for bathroom usage. And Michael Anthony Hall taking a leak off the hotel? What the heck? I too think the movie is going to bomb and Vince will have to "start" over, turning the tables on the relationship between he and Ari in the middle of last season, when Ari was out of a job and Vince was on the rise.
  2. Tom Candioti's record of 2 wins in his first 2 starts is safe because of Turnbow. Boo on Derrick.
  3. T-bow owes Gallardo a steak dinner.
  4. Billy Hall, you don't play for the Royals, you're playing against them.
  5. For those who don't follow the minor leagues very closely, be sure to check out AZL pitcher Santo Manzanillo's stats from last season. I really hope he makes it to the bigs one day just so his 2006 stats can be referenced.
  6. Cubs and Cards both just took 1 run leads along with the Brewers.
  7. German sure looked safe sliding into second. Let's get some runs for Yo. Hows about a jack?
  8. I'd think about putting Dillard on the 7-day to give his arm some rest and adjustment to the bullpen life. And move up the non-prospect Errecart so Brantley can move back down to where he belongs.
  9. Gwynn will have a career in Milwaukee if Hall moves to left. That's all there is to it.
  10. Another couple games, and Bush's ERA will be lower than Suppan's.
  11. Corey Hart is my hero. He gives all 6'6 lanky guys like me hope.
  12. Bush looking as good as ever. Fingers crossed it keeps going.
  13. Bannister might have already set a career high for K's today. Edit: His career high is indeed 6. One more for the record. Bannister pwns us, but not.
  14. I wasn't paying very close attention, but it looked like a curve ball that skipped low and to Estrada's left. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
  15. I'd like to add another arm to the bullpen, however I'm not convinced said reliever needs to be left-handed. I really think one of Jackson, Parra, Pettyjohn or Thatcher (woot) will be able to fill that second LOOGY role at merely the expense of calling them up as opposed to the expense of trading someone. For that matter, any one of Balfour, Bray, Dillard, Oxspring or Sarfate could potentially be valuable as a RH option out of the pen. I really hope they at least give Balfour an opportunity this year. If his arm is all the way back, he has filthy stuff. It would be nice to get a right-handed power bat to replace what Mench should have done. If he heats up, there may be no need. I'm not confident he will, though. Basically, someone to compliment Gross. I'd also like to think about adding another catcher. Damien Miller looks done to me, and he's not much less of a liability than Estrada behind the plate. Given that we're going to have an extra roster spot in the playoffs (or, one less pitcher), a guy like Robert Fick would be nice to have around (tho he's not hitting right now).
  16. And now I just looked at the out of town scoreboard... we actually have to win today to get the magic number to a manageable 81?
  17. Milb.com apparently still hasn't realized Mejia has been converted to a pitcher more than a year after the fact. And we'll just say Shane Hill had an off day. 7 BB's? Ouch. Edit: The first few AZL box scores of the year make my head spin. I remembered Jovanny Felix's first name from last year. Is that bad?
  18. Drinkard *has* to make it to the bigs with the Brewers. He just has to.
  19. I just tuned in... are these uniforms approximations of what the Brewers star players will look like one day for the Yankees?
  20. This series is clearly a must-sweep.
  21. Go Phillies and ChiSox! (Did I just type that?)
  22. Ah, nothing like scoreboard watching in mid-June.
  23. Steve Wendt on R.J. Seidel: "Either side of the plate, he can get tail." I'm sure he's glad to know you think so highly of him, Steve. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. I like Wilkerson, but not at $2 mil for the rest of the year. If the Rangers aren't offering any salary relief, I wouldn't give up much more than a B prospect for a guy that hasn't seen a .250 BA or an 800 OPS since '04.
  25. I had hope that he'd be able to hang around as a starter, but Tim has really gotten lit up a number of times recently. He's given up a lot of hits virtually every time out... when you have only one really good pitch, that'll happen. His upside is higher than Chris Spurling's, but they are sort of similar pitchers. Good luck to Tim in his new role, and here's to an extra few ticks on that sinker in the pen!
