  1. I believe Cordero could get shelled here for 10 runs and 5 homers, and not a single run would count as an "earned run", because it was assumed that the 3rd out should have occured on the error. It was ruled a single and an error, wasn't it? And even if it was just an error, Cordero could have picked up earned runs if he had allowed his own runners to score. No ER to the team, but there would have been ER to Cordero.
  2. Fanny and Alexander.
  3. Where the "hang your head" emoticon?
  4. Here's to an 18K performance from Sheets. Considering they're paying him ~$300K per start, I hope so. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I remember the first sober thing I did when I was 21... I woke up in the morning, went to the local liquor store, picked up a 12er of MGD, went to the checkout line, and was promptly not carded for it. Hope you're having fun.
  6. Inman will make another 2-3 starts for Brevard, then he'll move on. There's no point in him striking out 12 guys every 6 innings without making him work for it a little. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Man, if I lived within driving distance of Charleston, I'd buy season tickets to see the Power. What a treat it has been to follow them this year. That team is closing in on a million stolen bases. What's up with Steve Bray's walks? Already has more than last year in about 1/4 of the innings. Corey Thurman needs to be promoted.
  8. I'm a stats guy, and I see that higher OPS against him in the earlier innings, but that's as a starter. I think Dave Bush could be a really great bullpen pitcher, with a couple extra ticks on his fastball. Gallardo could replace him now, no problem.
  9. How about back to back jacks right here?
  10. Regardless of how out hitter shape up against Linebrink, I'd rather face Linebrink than Hoffman 10 days of the week.
  11. What the hell? That umpire is a jerk. (Jerk being the most inflammatory word I can post.)
  12. Take Carlos out of the 'pen and trade for a reliever? How about keep Carlos in the pen and bring up Yo?
  13. Anyone else think that Bush might be better in a bullpen role? I think he's a little better SP than Vargas, but if Vargas were actually skipped and everyone else (including Gallardo) pitched on regular rest, the bullpen problem would be solved.
  14. I think Gallardo is the better pitcher, but Inman is a very close second. I definitely get amped every time it is his turn in the rotation.
  15. I thought about Lou initially, but the Brewers seem to want to get Rottino regular ABs at catcher, and with Rivera already on the roster, that wouldn't be feasible with Palmisano there as well. My guess is Ruben Mateo... he's old enough that you have to see what you have, yah? As an aside, I do think Palmisano will up to AAA sometime in late June or July. If Rottino plays well behind the dish, the Brewers may deal Rivera to a club needing a catcher.
  16. Sonic Youth - "Paper Cup Exit" Modest Mouse - "3rd Planet (BBC Radio Session)" Jars of Clay - "Blind/Frail" John Cale - "Hanky Panky Nohow" Clint Mansell - "Ghosts (Vocal Version)" The Offspring - "Pay The Man" Bob Dylan and The Hawks - "Katie's Been Gone" Sleater-Kinney - "It's Enough" Wolf Parade - "It's A Curse" The Field - "Good Things End"
  17. Anyone recall a guy that played both 2B and 1B in the majors? Mark Loretta.
  18. Alcides Escobar has 5 walks in 180 (!) AB this year. That's just not acceptable, even with his lofty batting average. Since he doesn't have the power to justify a low walk total, the Brewers should keep him in Brevard until he learns how to draw some walks. He's also stealing just 2/3 of his bases. That needs to get better as well. And Taylor Green... what the heck?
  19. Can this team not throw correctly anymore?
  20. Dear Brewers, I just invented a few new swear words because of you. Congrats, -Toby
  21. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif What the hell is going on here today?
  22. Dear offense, You are the offense. Score some runs, -Toby
  23. Pardon for stepping on toes here as I am nothing of a draft expert, but Haydel is not quite the prospect Parra was. IIRC, Parra could have been a mid-round first, and Haydel is a sandwich guy. The difference between the two is that Parra suddenly found 6 MPH on his fastball and Haydel "only" found some more power.
  24. Jeff Cirillo will not get booed tonight unless he does something offensive to us. If he does get booed needlessly, I'm driving down to Milwaukee and pimp slapping everyone who does it.
