  1. I also wouldn't be surprised about Braun (not) making the play in the first place.
  2. First pitch to Weeks = popped up. Hah. Man, that kid loves to hit pop flies.
  3. But arguing for Hart doesnt make sense no matter who you put him up against. Oof.
  4. Ned puts the best hitters in the lineup and he is not one of them. Then why isn't Gabe Gross playing?
  5. Let's not forget the defensive plays Hart made yesterday also. Yost seems to reward Hart's good on-field efforts with giving him a day off to think about it. Because, you know, that's the best way to keep people playing well.
  6. The Cubs just took Derek Lee out of the game. Hah.
  7. Pie has to be closing in on a record for most plate appearances in an inaugural big league game.
  8. Peter Killing is a really weird name.
  9. Let me be the first to say, this game is a must win.
  10. Weeks making an out by popping out is probably the least surprising thing I've seen in the past few weeks.
  11. Rickie Weeks is a horrible lead-ff batter.
  12. 55 pitches through 2 IP for Milton, Not bad at all.
  13. Paulie's comments were typical Paulie. There's nothing more to read in to that, I can almost guarantee it. That's what I initially thought, but the comment just seemed extra-out of place (even for Paulie) and more disrespectful the more I thought about it. Perhaps might end up costing Paulie if Tony gets frustrated due to lack of respect from Chrissy and Phil, and needs to make an example of someone.
  14. Here's to kicking the crap out of Eric Milton tomorrow. By the same token, I have the same feeling about this game as I did the Sunday game - we should win, but we could also very easily screw it up. At least I have the semi-permanent taste of expecting to win in my mouth.
  15. *Spoilers, of course Pretty decent episode, though not as good as last week's. -The Johnny Sack illness/death storyline was very sudden. Almost seemed like the writers needed an easy way to get Phil into the boss spot. -It didn't introduce any new storylines, just pushed the Tony/Chrissy and Phil's revenge to the forefront. The episode (outside of Johnny Sack) was fairly predictable, IMO. -Good job by Alan Taylor on the Cleaver segments. Almost exactly what I had envisioned. -I thought Paulie's comment about Johnny Sack not beating cancer while he had was odd. Probably nothing, but it could come back at Paulie later. -Torciano's hit scene was very well done. I haven't seen a hit scene exactly like that before.
  16. Villanueva looks much more comfortable as a starter. Perhaps it might be a better idea to have Capellan instead.
  17. Isn't this why we traded for Elmer Dessens? Shouldn't he be pitching right now?
  18. Sheets' velocity is fine, he's just not pitching well today. I'm 95% sure he isn't injured.
  19. What in the world was that? The likelihood of Sheets walking Wilson has to be only slightly better than winning Powerball.
  20. That was the sound of my head hitting the coffee table.
  21. Hardy loves playing smear the Looper.
