  1. Sheeter trying to get some back for himself.
  2. That's pretty much the best Brewer lineup possible, isn't it? Which of course means that the Brewers will score between 0 and 2 runs.
  3. I thought the HOF reference was to Bill Hall's bat, which is in the HOF because he hit the first HR in the new Busch Stadium. IIRC, Powell said it, but it may have been Uecker.
  4. Bill Hall really needs to play every day somewhere. There's no reason for Hall not to be on the field virtually every game. If Gross weren't hitting so well, I'd consider putting him in CF 3-4 days a week.
  5. What happened to Ohka? I can't listen along.
  6. Wahpepah is the second coming of Tim Dillard for the Manatees. Both very good sinkerballers. If he and Gallardo keep this up, the Brewers will have a hard time not promoting them to AA.
  7. 9 pitch inning for Bush. Good work.
  8. The tape of that AB should be labeled "How to Pitch Andruw Jones 101"
  9. Whoa! Ken Ray sighting. He pitched for Huntsville a couple years ago.
  10. Can't slide Davis in the rotation yet. He's been one of the better pitchers in baseball the past few seasons. Not to take the analogy too far, but that would be like benching a week for Carlos Lee for batting .200/.220/.350 at this point. It's not going to happen, nor should it. If his ERA is still 7.66 in another month, we'll talk.
  11. Corey Thurman really doesn't belong in AA... he has an ERA+ of 95 in the bigs in parts of two years with Toronto as a 23-24 year old. I understand he's been injured, but he's going to keep dominating AA until the Brewers promote him. Darren Ford with a couple hits today, but he's only walked 1 time in 64 ABs. He's arguably the fastest guy in the system, but what's that old adage about not being able to steal first? Nelson Cruz with two more bombs today... and what point will his 900+ OPS translate into playing time in Milwaukee (or elsewhere)? Finally, Ozzie Chavez has been impressive enough early to get back on the prospect radar. He languished badly at the plate the last few years in A-ball, and frankly I thought he was turning into toast rather quickly. He's been around forever it seems, but he'll be only 23 at the end of July, so he still has a chance.
  12. Prince Fielder graduated off the Power 50 with his 3rd AB of the game. There's a bright spot for ya'll.
  13. I think this is the worst team to ever play the game of baseball and they should all be fired.
  14. I'm going to go outside and push some concrete blocks around in a wheelbarrow, because that sounds more fun than listening to this.
  15. What on earth is wrong with Doug Davis?
  16. "It's up to Chad Moeller to keep it alive." = Goodbye.
  17. ben has not cut his locks, my wife says he looks hot with the longer hair And I agree. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  18. I'm still waiting for Koskie to show up. He'll have some big knocks for us this year, though. I loved watching him with the Twins, and you can't knock his defense much. Really, a great guy to have on the team, especially batting in the 7-hole. Anyone else really enamored with Ben's new 'do? I think it makes him look tough. Maybe he's trying to look different than the guy who kept saying "Yes. Mister Sal is a great guy." after he was drafted. And if Gabe Gross keeps hitting, what do the Brewers do with him? They are locked into Clark in CF it seems, but would Gabe be the #1 answer in RF or LF if Lee or Jenkins were dealt? Or could he supplant Clark?
  19. A Khalid Ballouli photo? *melts* I don't know that it is time to start thinking concretely about Eveland/Hendrickson/Jackson quite yet. Ohka and Bush deserve awhile yet unless either implodes, and even though the kids are doing well in AAA, they may need to work on some things before getting back to the bigs. I'm not saying that it is wrong to conjecture about it, but I don't see a move happening anytime soon unless something drastic happens to Ohka or Bush (or another starter for that matter). Hendrickson in particular still worries me a lot because he's walking a ton of guys and not allowing a lot of hits - this is something I'd tend to expect from a flame-thrower who is learning to become a pitcher, not an average-velocity guy with good offspeed stuff. If he can't control the strike zone, he's never going to succeed in the bigs. He just can't - even if he has a great fastball no one is going to swing at it if it isn't hitting the zone and if he has to get his 88-90 MPH fastball over for strikes. I also don't know that Jackson will be ready for another couple months at the earliest. He's spent so little time in AAA to this point. I'd give the nod to Eveland right now if I had to call up a starter.
  20. Props to Josh Alliston as well. He's career has been marred by injuries that have knocked him out almost all of the two years. Yah, he's 26 and in A-ball, but if he picks up where he left off (and it looks like he is) and he stays healthy, he could be on a fast-track to AAA.
  21. Plain ol' heartbreaking losses two nights in a row. This has officially turned into a painful road series.
  22. Kremblas has Mark Johnson stealing bases, he must be trying to prove something... seems like the whole organization is SB-happy this spring. At least Super Dave has finally seemed to figure it out. This starts now: Free Callix Crabbe. Free Steve Sollmann. Free Ken Holmberg. Free Joe Thatcher.
  23. Sheeter's 7.20 ERA currently stands as the best ERA of a Brewer pitcher pitching today. Hey!
