I loved Dwight in the episode. He was gold.

Dont get used to Community. It's taking a vacation.

The Marlins payroll has quadrupled in the past week alone...

Part of me was really hoping the entire season would be canceled. Oh well.

    Congrats Braun!!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

So he wins Cy Young and MVP. Anything else the guy hasn't won yet?
  7. adamb100
How so? It's going to be harder for the wild cards to make it deep in the playoffs. Wildcard teams will most likely be using there ace pitcher for the 1 game playoff's, so they may not have there best pitching for the divisional series, increasing the chances of them losing there.

Best of luck to Dale and *gulp* the Cubs. Hopefully you'll make the Cubs better to avoid losing your job but not good enough to make the playoffs or anything.

Yeah I really like what the Blue Jays did with the logo. It looks really good.

So this NBA season that is supposed to be playing right now? Slim chance of it being played. The union rejected the latest offer by the owners and will seek to de-certify.

You havent heard anything about a potential lockout in the media, unlike with the NBA and NFL when those dates loomed. They must be really close to a deal.

Guess it's time to make this thread. It has snowed pretty much everywhere today except in Milwaukee.

Something like this seems so obvious to ask that I wonder why people didnt think of it before.

Why would it be hilarious? Francona is a very good manager. He had to fall on the sword this year, but if that team has fewer injuries or wins one more game, the Red Sox make the playoffs and he's still the manager. Oh I know he's a good manager, which is why I hope he doesnt land a job in the NL Central. It's funny cause Theo fired him, and now he may go rehire him again lol.
  15. adamb100
The Cubs interviewed Francona today, it would be hilarious if they picked him as the manager but also not surprising.

Right now LaRussa is supposed to manage the NL in the All-Star Game but if he declines (due to retirement) it would move to the 2nd highest seed, in this case RR of the Brewers.
  17. adamb100
You could argue LaRussa retiring will have a negative impact for the Cardinals but they'll still very much be in contention next year.

I'm getting scared that the Cubs are making smart moves lately.

Instead of 4 years and 92 million, CC is getting 5 years and 122 million... http://espn.go.com/new-yo...each-five-year-122m-deal

Melvin has already said that Yuni isnt as bad as the media makes him out to be. Now if Yuni can hit the way he did in the NLCS then sure bring him back but there is a fat chance of that being the norm for Yuni now.

The thing with the NFL is success rests on luck too. With only 16 games that missed pass or whatever could be the difference between 1-15 and 0-16. That 1 win is huge. Sure luck happens in Baseball too (look at the breaks St. Louis got in the NLCS) but when you play 162 games it all evens out.

Teams like the Pirates take all the revenue sharing and pocket it and dont put it directly into the team. A salary floor would help that money go into the team since the revenue sharing would be spent on team salaries and thus raise their payrolls.
  23. adamb100
I dont think baseball needs a salary cap, what baseball needs is a salary floor.
  24. adamb100
Selig already said there wont be a cap in the next CBA. The NFL owners were already raking in big $ but were demanding more. You dont hear much about owners in the MLB wishing they could make more $.
  25. adamb100
Well baseball hasnt had the revenue problems the NBA is facing and super money hungry owners of the NFL. Those were the main things of concern in both leagues.
