  1. Gotta get one more stop from the defense. Turnover would be better. Asking a good bit to hold the Eagles to 10 points. But even that might not be good enough.
  2. Can't toss away that many scoring chances and expect to win.
  3. Squander the opportunity this time and it's ballgame. Not sure about going with the bunt and playing for the tie.
  4. No one making outs easy in these final innings.
  5. $354.8 million dollars worth of luck.
  6. Don't think that actually should have been a confirmed instant replay call. Not saying that it should have been overturned: probably out and let the call stand. But I think "confirmed" may have been a little enhancement from MLB HQ.
  7. Bases loaded and one out. Ways to win even without a hit.
  8. And it's Miguel Rojas who ties it up. Just about the unlikeliest result.
  9. Blue Jays have to get through pesky Hernandez and superstar Ohtani to win. Drama for the 9th in Game 7. Pretty much all that MLB could desire.
  10. Big 3-6-3 double play to end the Top 7th. Right choice made by Guerrero to start it.
  11. Scherzer done for Toronto after 4 1/3 innings and one run. Leaves with a man on base and one out. Probably matched expectations for tonight's start, if not surpassed them. A game for the bullpen the rest of the way for both teams. Might be one of those top Game 7s.
  12. Followed up with a line drive hit off the pitcher's leg.
  13. Dodgers get one back in the Top 4th to make it 3-1. But two diving catches of line drives by Blue Jays fielders prevent the big inning. Could have majorly swung the momentum.
  14. Bo Bichette knocks out Ohtani in the 3rd inning of Game 7. Three-run homer to put Toronto up 3-0. Still a lot of game to go, but that's the type of early-ish lead the Blue Jays needed at home.
  15. Dominant performance by the Blue Jays rookie pitcher on the road in Game 5. Didn’t expect Toronto to win two games in Los Angeles, while nearly winning a third, only losing in 18 innings. Rogers Centre will be a madhouse for Game 6, especially if the Blue Jays can put up early runs and take a lead in the first few innings. The graphic Fox put up about the poor World Series record of teams that sweep their league championship series was surprising to see. Strange how baseball works.
  16. Big turnover. Forced fumble should seal it.
  17. Fairly short field. Punch it in for seven for the dagger. Burn a little clock, if possible.
  18. McManus’ spot shouldn’t be safe at this rate.
  19. Just about as good a result for Toronto coming off the 7-game ALCS. Get a blowout win even with a short start from their back-of-the-rotation rookie pitcher. Will see what Gausmann can give them from the mound in Game 2, along with the bats.
  20. Feeling some joy at seeing the Blue Jays landing some haymakers on the Dodgers pitchers in Game 1.
  21. Lousy result for Seattle. Thought they might finally get their World Series berth. Canada’s Team versus the Dodgers. Not a desired World Series matchup from my perspective. But it’s hard watching games after your team is eliminated anyway.
  22. I’d like to see the Brewers pursue a starter bat that can competently play either corner outfield spot, if Frelick/Chourio can cover centerfield defensively well enough for the management. They would still have Perkins and Lockridge for cover, while possibly seeing if Collins can become a utility player. Perhaps an outfield bat may be more available via free agency than a shortstop or third baseman. Plus, that doesn’t seem to be a position where the budding stars in the minors are plentiful.
  23. Well that NLCS pretty much was a disappointment. Watching the offense sink like it hit an iceberg. Hope to see a pennant winner one of these years. Hard to remember memories from 1982 as a kindergartener. Maybe the Brewers baseball addiction will actually pay off some day.
