  1. First off, there were only 500 of that Fielder given away. And Secondly, I just don't see what your gripe is. The Snappers said "the first 500 fans entering the stadium will receive a Prince Fielder bobblehead." They do not say anything about the bobblehead being limited to 500. And that's the same for the Helena Braun bobbleheads. They advertise "the first 250 into the stadium," but don't say anything about there only being 250 made. The only way you can gripe is if you can find out the Brewers produced more than 5,000 retros or the T-Rattlers made more than 96 of their rehab series. Both those bobbleheads were advertised as limited to that amount.
  2. While hearing about the scoreboard being replaced the last couple years, I always had a "who cares" attitude towards it. But after visiting Target Field, I can not wait for the new scoreboard. I thought the HD scoreboard was the best part of Target Field.
  3. If anyone gets ESPN the Magazine, look on the last page and they have a little graphic about chances of seeing a rare sports milestone. I'll list some of the MLB ones: 1 in 11- Extra Innings 1 in 326- Triple Play 1 in 702- Hit for the Cycle 1 in 806- No-Hitter 1 in 2,610- Six-Plus Hits in a Nine-Inning Game 1 in 10,287- Perfect Game 1 in 12,492- Unassisted Triple Play 1 in 13,453- Four Home Run Game
  4. But I guess what I'm trying to say is, that from a Brewers perspective, what's the difference between having a named player not show up as opposed to an unnamed player? They still have a line of unhappy people!
  5. Just an FYI, Fielder never no-showed. I knew both years the night before the block party that he was not going to be there, as the Brewers updated the website.
  6. I do realize that Prince hasn't been at the last two block parties, but I highly doubt that's one of the reasons why they are doing it this way. I'd put my money on it solely being on people showing up way too early for their likings. And in Prince's case when he canceled, it was posted before the event. If it had anything to do with players canceling, it would have more to do with Mike Cameron last year where he just didn't show up.
  7. Yeah, I was REALLY hoping to get Prince at one of the events. I have a picture that I really want to get signed. I'd even pay to get it signed, but I don't think he does signings. I guess I will need to find another way. Oh well!!
  8. To me it sounds like they won't allow that. They say the wristband distribution will stop once the players arrive. So I think that means the players will only sign for people with wristbands... so if you hop in line after the wristbands are distributed, you're SOL.
  9. Some new information on the Brewers Block Parties that can be found HERE. AUTOGRAPHS AT BREWERS BLOCK PARTIES The names of Brewers players and coaches attending the Brewers Block Parties will not be posted in advance. There will be eight player stations set up for autographs at the event, and a maximum of 150 free autograph tickets will be distributed at each of the eight stations the morning of the party. The ticket distribution will be discontinued once the players and coaches arrive at the event. No more than one ticket will be given to any fan to ensure that as many people receive autographs as possible. Players will be randomly assigned to the stations as they arrive at the event. If their goal was to cut down on people getting their early, they sure did that.
  10. Has anyone by chance heard of any Jim Gantner signings coming up this summer? Normally he has a couple here and there, but haven't heard of anything yet. Thanks!
  11. I know this is a long shot, but I have 2 extra tickets to each of the 3 games at Busch Stadium on June 4, 5, and 6th that I would like to get rid of. PM me if you're interested.
  12. Grrrr... we just planned our trip down to StL and bought our tickets to the games last weekend. This really ticks me off. Guess we can't go to the Sunday night game.
  13. I've been looking for the McGlocklin bobblehead. So if OldSchoolSnapper gets one, and someone still has one they'd like to sell... let me know!
  14. One person's assumption? It's on the Brewers web site, so it's not really an assumption.
  15. The Brewers announced the dates of this summer's block parties. The press release can be found HERE. Looks like they won't be announcing in advance who will be at each block party. I'm not sure what I think of that...
  16. Has anyone heard anything about the 40th Anniversary players that will be at Miller Park next week? I believe Gorman Thomas is going to be there Friday, but is he signing autographs at all?
  17. I've been wondering this the last couple nights, and thought I'd put it out there. Does anyone know what those little notches just above the hands on both Weeks and Braun's bats is for? It looks like a little patch that the paint is shaved off. I just bought a game used Weeks bat, and that bat has it too.
  18. Ha... I was wondering the same thing last night! I've always joked that if I was a player, my walk-up music would be "Fly For A White Guy"(I think that's what the song is called) by The Offspring... but "I'm Too Sexy" may even be better than that! But I'm thinking it was just a song to get people to dance for the scoreboard.
  19. Like I said earlier, Rickie's song is "Drop the World" by Lil' Wayne and Eminem. And if you listen to the song, you'll soon realize why he just plays the intro... it's quite vulgar.
  20. Yeah, I'll agree with the people that didn't think there were as many drunks as in the past years. There weren't many in my section, I didn't see many in the parking lot. Not counting the loss, I'll say this is the best Opening Day I've been to in quite a while.
  21. Braun still had the same as he had at the end of last year, Soulja Boy "Turn My Sway On." And I think Weeks has the very beginning of the Lil' Wayne and Eminem song "Drop the World." Escobar and Gomez both had Spanish songs.
  22. So THAT'S why he's been struggling this spring! I was wondering if something was wrong!
  23. When I was down at spring training, I actually overheard a conversation between Corey and a friend of his about these goggles. He sounded pretty excited about them. He was saying that the goggles are a brand new product put out by Oakley. From what it sounded like though, he would only wear them when he was batting.
  24. Don't the Brewers have to make a move with Edmonds here in the next day or so? I thought I remember they had to add him to the big league roster by the 25th? Well, with no game tomorrow... I'd bet that it has something to do with the OF. Maybe they were going to release Edmonds, but his performance today made them think a little harder!
  25. I know there was a thread about this a year or so ago, but was wondering what the current best virus protection software programs are? I use Verizon high speed internet, and always used their Internet Security. But I'm thinking there may be something better out there. Can someone please help me out? Thanks in advance!
