  1. I literally did like 10 days of posts this year - so the big thanks should be to Mass and Toby, as well as Homer, who did the bulk of the postings.
  2. This was the last of the minor league link reports for 2019. Thanks to all the guys who posted these during the course of the season.
  3. Biloxi lost their game today - ending their season one game short of the championship. Drew Rasmussen got lit up in the 1st inning - surrendering five runs while recording just one out. The Shuckers were never able to dig out of the hole, and fell 6-2.
  4. We missed yesterday's game, in which Biloxi won 4-2 to send the Southern League Championship series to a final, deciding game 5. It will be the final minor league for Brewer affiliates for 2019. Go Shuckers!

  6. Im going to throw out the Altuve extension as a comparable for Yelich. Altuve was a year or so younger than Yelich, and had only two years left on his deal (compared to Yelich with three). But before the 2018 season, he signed a 5 year/$151M extension to take him through his age 34 season. So, roughly $30M a year. Now, you can argue that Yelich is more impactful or whatever - but it's just a rough comparison. You can also argue that Yelich is worth more - closer to the $35M that Arenado and Trout are getting. And that's probably true. But getting a new contract three years before the existing one expires requires some give back to the Brewers. In the end, I think it would be something like $30-32M. But that's just my guess. The knee cap injury might make Yelich more inclined to consider such an extension. One injury can derail a career - and locking in extra $150-160M isn't a bad thing to do.

  8. Ugly 9th inning for Biloxi - gave up four runs. Lose 6-2 The teams have Thursday off, then wraps things up this weekend in Jackson.
  9. Dylan File on the mound tonight for the Shuckers, who lead the series 1-0. Good luck to Biloxi!

  11. Tough to swallow, but this is a reality for every team. Injuries happen, and while you can't replace a good player (much less an MVP player), you just have to give it the best try. It seems that injuries have been tough on this year's club. More so than normal. Again, just tough - especially considering the team has been playing well. We'll need some guys to step up if we are to stay in the playoff picture.
  12. Luis Aviles with five hits from the leadoff spot.

  14. Frank Turner is awesome. Even better live.
  15. Nice job by the Shuckers today. They will play Jackson for the league championship starting on Tuesday.

  17. I read that before being called up, Taylor had applied for a job at FedEx to earn some extra cash over the winter. A player on minimum rookie scale ($550,000) makes about $3,500 a game, so everyday he's on the roster is a pretty huge deal for guys like him. 20 days can net him 70k. FedEx can wait.
  18. I saw Taylor got plunked on the very first pitch he saw in the majors. He can retire now and have a 1.000 OBP.
  19. Biloxi lost tonight. Series is tied at 2-2. Sunday is the deciding game of the series.
  20. Didn't see this, but I thought it was cool that Taylor got a call. I'm not sure if he'll ever amount to much, but it must be pretty special after so many years in the minors. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/tyrone-taylor-called-up-brewers
  21. I'm not positive, but I think that was a result of Biloxi winning both halves of the season. It's normally 1st half winners vs 2nd half winners - overall record gets home field advantage. However, we won both halves. They don't want to just give Biloxi a bye, so they get the next best team and do a series -- only that team has to give up one of their home games - a nod to the Shuckers winning both halves.

  23. Very well might take a 17 and 5 run to squeak into the playoffs. Yeah, it's like a 1 in 20 chance. But hey, what the heck. Here's for the fantasy roll players. http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0210/9924/products/download_4_grande.jpg?v=1497631012
  24. Shuckers lost 3-2. They managed on four hits. The series continues tomorrow.
