  1. Yeah, but you're juiced. Look at the size of your head in that avatar. Best comment ever!
  2. Great point. My perspective was that of a ballpark. I'm a fan not a player so that is what I look for. I'm not sure who is responsible for the fan experience. For all I know the Brewers lease the place and are hands off on the rest of the operations. If they are responsible for the fan experience I wish they would wlak around the other parks and see what is offered, and enjoyed, by fans. Perhaps there just isn't enough room. The park seems much smaller than the others. I can have fun at any ballpark. I had fun every time I went to Snapper games in Beloit. Also...I have friends that are KC & TX fans and another that is an M's fan...so I hear it when we go to Maryvale.
  3. I haven't posted in over a year. I can't read about what a great facility Maryvale is and let it stand. I've been to Brewer Spring training twice. It was a blast but that was not due to how great Maryvale is. I believe that Maryvale is the worst of all the Phoenix area facilities. The field is fine. Other than that...dead last. It may be bacause it is 2/3 to 3/4 empty and doesn't have that vibe. It may be the poor food and beverage choices. I don't like driving out to Surprise but if someone wants to see a great facility...that is an example. A MLB Spring Training facility should be better than Minor league parks or at least as good. I'm not talking about Bricktown in OKC, that is to high of a bar to set. Just better than you average Double A park. I'm not for a move to FL but I am for more of what the other parks in AZ offer.
  4. It is really late Thanksgiving night, I haven't been to BF in days or posted in months. So maybe I'm here to chime in on this. This is a little opinon a little devil's advocate and a little predicting the future. To me "USA Today article on Crew" is only a very little bit more descriptive than "Some Brewers News." We now know where the news is from. Maybe if there was a little more of a discussion starter than "Some interesting info on our top 5 prospects at the bottom of the article, too" it might have lasted (like asking if others agree with the statement "The eighth overall choice in a draft class of 2005 that has already produced third baseman Ryan Zimmerman of the Nationals, Braun, 23, doesn't seem far behind.") After all LouisEly look at how much thought you put into your post. Admittedly, I'd have enjoyed a discussion of a decent article at a time when I'm hungry for Brewer news. The "USA Today article on Crew" thread just seemed to have made itself easy for a Mod to lock. For the future...I can see this thread being moved from "Major Leagues" to "Brewerfan.net Issues & Events." Maybe even being locked here with a link to a new thread over there using LouisEly's post as a start. That would be a little ironic.
  5. That umpire can't tell a ball from a strike. Gabe Gross can't judge a long fly ball. Brewers lose. This stinks.
  6. Ned said "all lefties play tonight."
  7. I think either Mench or Hall should hit 3rd and the other 5th and Fielder should hit clean-up.
  8. Wow...I fall asleep watching the game with a kind of happy in the lead feeling and wake up to all of this. At the very least the discussion in the thread was interesting. I'm still sorting out what is symptomatic of the team and what is just what happens in 1 game out of a 162 game season. Hopefully Sheeter and Ohka get back so that Villanueva and company can help in the pen. Carlos is pitching in Nashville. Adding Sheets and Ohka will mean they need to make room on the roster so I doubt a call-up will be in order. I hope we don't see Villanueva until Sept. at the soonest because our pen is pitching well. The only solid hitter is Lee and that's because he is stubborn and will not listen to Wynegar at all. You know this for a fact?
  9. Cameron told Prince he was going, I swear!
  10. We need to get rid of both Geoff and Carlos! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. Carlos is either doggin it or getting himself a web gem. There is no inbetween.
  12. Could it be that Cirillo is really hot at the plate and has a great attitude while Billy is in a slump and pulled that bonehead move in his last start? With the way Cirillo is hitting I can't blame Ned for doing what he can to get him into the line-up.
  13. I hear about that move by Billy. I would totally understand the benching except that Yost backed him during the game. "I'm not so sure that pitch was a strike," Yost said. "But, still there's no excuse to dump your bat in that situation and show an umpire up."
  14. I want some help understanding a point of view. The Brewers are facing a RHP tonight. How does starting the LH Gross over the RH Hart show a bias against Hart? If we were going against a lefty and Gross got the start I might agree but I think that if we were up against a lefty there would be a 99.99% chance Hart would start.
  15. first option to replace a corner OFer against righties Against righties or did you mean lefties?
  16. If Ned lets JDLR pitch to the #8 hitter and he singles in a run, this board is imploding since everyone would be wondering why he didn't walk him to get to the pitcher. You want to put the pitcher in the lead-off spot the next inning. Walking the number 8 is a no confidence move by Ned.
  17. I could have understood the intentional walk if it wasn't the 8 hole, or if it were to set up a double play. I don't get the idea of getting to the pitcher. Isn't it better to retire the side and put the pitcher in the lead-off spot for the next inning? Even if it didn't work out as poorly as it did?
  18. So which team plays better LF defense?
  19. Do you think Carlos is afraid of running on grass. He seems willing to seal bases. Watching him take like 5 steps while that ball flew all the way to the wall was painful. By the way nice job JDLR working out of the jam!
  20. Edited to up the cowbell effect. Thank you, that was all I was asking. but there was talk of Ben going on the DL. Great. By who? Don't remember it was in the chat. Glad to hear that other than him being a little off on the curve and maybe velocity and getting shelled there was no evidence of him being injured like being treated by trainers later. Bad outings happen...and with Ben they seldom happen and I like that.
  21. I've tried to read this IGT a little and went to the chat...I was working this evening and got home for the 8th and beyond. Because of all the time taken by you're a troll no I'm not conversation I want to ask if there is something going on with Ben. Some people seem to think so. I don't know if it is some being defeatest or others being sarcastic about somebody elses sarcastic attitude but there was talk of Ben going on the DL. Is there anything to this. Was it a bad night or is something going on. After reading the article Russ presented the other day that supported inconsistant starting pitchers maybe this is good. Just not Ben's night or something is wrong. I am currious. And Riebes24..."Man, the Brewers suck." Very nice, but it needs more cowbell.
  22. You may have already checked here for line-up info TauPentaRei. If not it is a little interesting. Thirteen different line-up's used so far.
