  1. Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac said the same thing. And Reynolds doesnt know that Ricki Weeks wont be a free agent after the season.
  2. Wow I need glasses. I read it as demand based pitching .....and thought "what the heck is that going to be!"
  3. I really dont think they can keep up that home pace. They are going to have to do better than 16-20 on the road to win it.
  4. Or it could be Counsell. "Tough" because most fans love him and this is no doubt the end of his playing days.
  5. I agree, but would also bet that no one on the coaching staff or in the front office has an opinion anything close to this. They are blind to (or ignoring) the shortcommings of Betancourt which have been staring them in the face all season. The easier and more likely move to replace one of the two in the line-up is to finally cut bait with Yunni B. (Even though there is an obvious replacement for McGehee)
  6. Ever since he slid into first causing Yovanni to hurt his knee.
  7. Any interest in trading the tickets to the 2 sunday games (4 total) for 2 infield loge (section 216) for either fri Sept 9 or Sat Sept 10th vs phillies?
  8. Can whoever it is that occasionally alters pictures/graphics, alter a Miller park image to show Braun's name and number next to the Yount19 and Molitor 4? Just for a sneek preview of 2022.
  9. Doesnt bother me much. What I would rather not hear 40 times a year are things like the crazy cap shuffle, pizza give away with "mombo italiano", annoying Junior Announcers, having to see the goofy kids dance around the car that wins an oil change, and seeing adults go nuts for the cheap tshirts being tossed into the stands. And of course the Icemans tired "free shivers, wooooohhh" and similar rants. Much better now than when they had Sandy Maxx spouting nonsense several times a game, though.
  10. What would Jack Z want for Jack Wilson who is playing 2b in Seattle? Ackley should be called up at some point this year.
  11. Wonder why a guy like Komatsu didnt get in the game. Hes more of a prospect than many! My girlfriend won his "game worn" jersey though!
  12. I dont understand the concept of giving him starts in the minors or in az camp. When hes ready to pitch, he should be on the roster pitching out of the bullpen (of course with normal starting pitcher rest) until he has the arm stregnth to start. Pitch 3 innings or whatever and finish your pitch count in the bullpen after the game. Do we realy need a 5th outfielder at the expense of the teams best pitcher?
  13. And who is Eulogio de la cruz, and why do I keep reading his name as a candidate? Hes not "stretched out" (at least in big league camp) and he doesnt have MLB experience.
  14. Anyone think they come to realize that Counsell might play like a 40 yr old slap hitter with reduced defensive skills? Maybe cut him loose and keep Almonte for when a bat is needed and Cruz when defense is a priority.
  15. I just hope he doesnt walk away from a critical world series start because of the WS media hype!
  16. It worked for me right away
  17. I really dont like the sound of "The San Jose A's" I hope they are called the "California A's" now that the Angels are the Los Angeles Angels of Anahiem. Id like to see the Rays move to Vegas. Can you imagine a huge Casino/Hotel/Ballpark and corresponding ticket/travel packages (for the travelers). Most of the locals are relocated from other areas and have allegiances to other teams theyd probably like to see. Of course Pete Rose couldnt be the manager, and there would be no baseball betting.
  18. I cant keep track of all the name changes. Lets see, Ive been to Wrigley, White Sox old, White Sox new, old yankee stadium, fenway, Camden Yards, old Busch, new Busch, Petco, Chase, Phillies new stadium, Jacobs Field, Metrodome, Kaufman (is it still called that), and whatever the new stadium in Atl is called. I really like Chase (Phoenix). Its so much like Miller Park except the concourse is better. I was also impressed with Camden Yards. Didnt like the Atlanta and new Busch staduims. They both seem like several separate parts that dont really fit together well.
  19. Last night the guys on MLB network pretty much said that Weeks isnt worth a lot (in that he's had one good season) and the Brewers should concentrate on signing Fielder instead. Someone (reynolds maybe) said Weeks has been watchin too much TV (about Pujols' spring training deadline).
  20. I saw a 3game series there vs Brewers in 1987. What an awful, ugly stadium. I hope the renovations since then have made lots of improvements. Then again, Im not one for nostalgia. I cant stand wrigley either. The old yankee stadium (same roadtrip) was very nice.
  21. I agree. I really enjoyed the one time they had the cocktail party at the .300 club. No kids, no autographs. Just a buffet and drinks with the team.
  22. I dont like the Prince signing. I say the team could have won an arbitration case for less than any amount Boras would agree to. (In this case, less than 15.5mm of course) Boras and Prince are obviously looking for highest bidder after the season. Why pay up "good faith" money now, when extension talks have gone nowhere.
  23. I remember him well! After Nomura was taken out for walking a couple of guys in a row.....My girlfriend (at the time) said in her best attempt of a japanese accent "ohhhh coach, i thought you said just throw the BALL".
  24. I think Sabathia was just looking for the most money possible. The "union pressure" thing is a convenient excuse. Guys can sign where they want. The union can't force someone to work somewhere they don't want to. And then Sabathia says today, regarding Lee and his desicion: "Like he said, when you're comfortable in a place, money really plays no role in that. Philly was a place he pitched in before and he made the decision that was best for him and his family, trying to win a championship with a good team." Come on CC, admit that, for you, it was all about the money.
