Interesting stuff. And to think i still pay for Baseball Weekly,,,,uhh, Sports Weekly that now lists Eric Almonte as the brewer's "up and coming prospect" at 2b. They also try to make a case that Zealous Wheeler will be taking over for Escobar if Escobar doesnt become a better hitter. Im so over Wheeler already. Get it,,,,over zealous.

I thought I read somewhere that good old Mike Rivera was back.

Why use a roster spot for Maldonado? Hes not one of the "power 50" prospects, so why sweat losing him to another team?

Please explain the Baltimore Orioles. 32-70 prior to Showalter, 30-20 after his hire.

Why do I bother with WMLW? I thought last time was the worst. Just horrible.

Anderson has already tonight said that Zambrano and Fukodome are free agents after the year. Thats not right, is it?

Ryan Langerhans has to be one of the worst. How does this guy keep getting picked up? Batting .182 for Jack Z's Mariners. Career .229.

Baseball America had Lopez as their 16th best prospect of their yearly top 30 this year. No mention of the other two.

What kind of season would the rangers be having if Thomas Diamond and Eric Hurley were never injured?

I say hit zambrano and see if his anger management counseling is working

Odd trade for the Dbacks. Unless the only goal is to save money. I assume Carrasco is under contract for next year at a reasonable price.

The Blue Jays have dealt their firstbaseman of the future Brett Wallace to the Astros. Maybe the Jays are thinking about sending some pitching to the Brew for Fielder. Is there an issue with Wallace? Hes gone from the Cardinals to the A's to the Blue Jays to the Astros in just a couple of seasons

Another question-- The other night Don Mattingly, acting as manager, made a trip to the mound to talk to Broxton. After he left the mound area, 1B Loney asked him a question and he returned to the mound. The Giants argued that Broxton had to be removed from the game due to the "second" visit to the mound, and the umpires (and rules, of course) agreed. My question is.....what if Mattingly would have never even stepped on the mound to talk to Broxton in the first place. What if they met both times in front of the mound. Thats still one visit you would think. And he still would have been charged with a second visit if he only hit the mound after Loneys question??

This statement sounds contradicting. Im on board with the "money tommorw is worth less than monday today part, in that inflation etc causes "todays money" to be worth less in the future.,,, But if you are "frontloading" or paying early, it would be like paying the player LESS.

MLB website says they signed Raul Mondesi Jr. I dont see any minor league stats. Is he an undrafted free agent?

Did you guys hear Hart's post game comments. I was shocked by his answer to the question "whats the difference between Cory Hart before the hot streak and he hot Cory Hart" (paraphasing). Instead of the stock answer like "Im seeing the ball better, blah blah blah", Hart says something like "Before I was complacent, but then I lost my spot, so I had to motivate myself to work harder". Again paraphrasing, but dang... I guess some of these guys ARENT always giving it their best effort.

Hate to always nit-pic manager moves, but why Carlos V and not someone like Hoffman or Smith in a lopsided game. Would they have used Soup here?
