  1. Counsel has been extremely conservative with players this April, whether starting pitching and length of outings or throwing relievers in consecutive games. I would gather it is the same for position players, especially regulars like Yelich, Cain, and Wong.
  2. No reason to extend these guys NOW, this minute..... see how the year plays out. Probably next year too. Extending them now is equivalent to the posts of extending Arcia for 5 or 6 years a couple of years ago.
  3. Just another reason... par for the course.
  4. That’s true. It is seen as cowardly and annoying when done well.
  5. Bandwagon.... many accusers never watched him play. He gets legitimately hit. There is no fake to it. He goes down harder and with more theatrics, sure. But show me where he doesn’t get hit.
  6. Those aren't great examples of him flopping. Those all looked...pretty legitimate. Yeah, in a good charge, everyone flops. Seriously, if you try to catch yourself instead of simply falling over upon being legitimately hit, it will be a block. Davidson is just really good at getting position.
  7. It is April. It is after a very odd 2020 with very few pitches thrown, comparatively. No problem easing them into the season. I am more at odds with not pitching Williams and Hader, though. Off day Thursday on top of it. Letting Suter throw to the heart of the order with Williams and Hader sitting in the bullpen... yeah, that in addition of leaving Lindrom in forever a few nights ago shows me that they are being ultra conservative with the bullpen arms.
  8. Did Marcum really run out of gas, or merely had three bad starts at the wrong time? I looked back at the play by play from 2011. In the NLDS he had only given up three hits and two walks in the first four innings of the game (1.25 WHIP). In the 5th inning he gave up a single to the pitcher on an 0-2 count, then a single to Aaron Hill the lead off man on a 0-1 count. He retired the next to batters. Then Roenicke intentionally walks Miguel Montero to get to Goldschmidt, who hit a 1-2 pitch for a grand slam. Against the Cardinals, Pujols the league MVP had four RBIs against him in the first game (His OPS was over 1.000 in the post season that year). In Game 6 Marcum gave up a two out, first pitch 3 run homer to David Freese who had an OPS over 1.000 in the playoffs that year with 15 extra base hits and 21 RBI. Totally off topic I know, but it’s interesting how we remember these things. Marcum didn’t really let them down with poor pitching. He made a mistake on a pitch at the wrong time against Goldschmidt, and ran into two white hot hitters on the Cardinals so his pitching line looks terrible He let them down with poor pitching, so be it. Was it against good/great teams? Sure. No one in the state was confident pitching him in game 6 but RR, just like no one wanted to see Suppan in Game 4 in 2008. We could have went with Narveson/bullpen in Game 5 at St. Louis and have Greinke/Yo at home where each had so much success.
  9. If a guy has to be taken out in the 6th inning.....a first baseman no less.....he shouldn’t really be on your roster. Well, he is.... and with a lead late, defensive liabilities shouldn’t be in.
  10. How does one jump back into fair play and get hit by ball? Really think the ball was hit by player in foul area... close.
  11. Could it be that this tailgating bring back was all planned? Get rid of the paper tickets, food in the ballpark, and tailgating in light of Covid. Then triumphantly bring back tailgating a wee and the Sausage Race a week into the year. The more I think about it, the more it sounds like a scheme. Quietly, the other things rid of are not remembered as much.
  12. UCLA is no Cinderella.... Gonzaga still wears that slipper, albeit undefeated season and all. They still feel like the little guy outside of the big conferences. Hope they can win it all on Monday.
  13. Baseball, in general, just is in a sad state with the types of games played and watched. The comeback on Thursday was great, but even that one too. Seeing the pitcher throw it to the catcher 98% of the time with so little balls in play or action on the bases. I like baseball and have a tough time not switching to watch basketball or Matlock. I can’t fathom nonBrewers or nonTwins fans sitting voluntarily through this for 3 hours.
  14. Yea, this is why I always screenshot the code AND if possible I just scan them all from my phone. I dont even deal with sending them. As long as this works... great. Easy. Yet, others have mentioned that this might not work in the future, which concerns me.
  15. Parking issues already.... Check out this article from Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Brewers expect ballpark processes to improve as they live and learn with the return of fans https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2021/04/02/milwaukee-brewers-expect-fan-experience-improve-2021/4850204001/
  16. Barrett feels the same..... Check out this article from Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: With MLB moving the All-Star Game from Atlanta, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has made his pitch https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2021/04/02/milwaukee-mayor-asks-host-all-star-game-after-mlb-moves-atlanta/7069128002/
  17. If honoring Aaron, it should be here.
  18. A good alternative spot? What criteria is this based on?
  19. Pretty great Tim Kirkjian impression....
  20. No one knows what’s going on..... so we still can get paper tickets?
  21. I can't agree with this. The time to find your wallet is the same as to find your phone and then after that it's: grab cash vs. unlock phone + wait for phone to load + find app + wait for app to load + find ticket in app... not to mention hope your internet is good + hope your phone hasn't died + hope you haven't been logged out of the app for some reason, etc... and a lot of that happens even if you do have your phone ready and it just enters the lock screen on you while you're pulling up to the parking attendant. I think you'll have more people that won't have the right screen on their phone ready to go and there's a lot more going on that can make it take longer than simply paying with cash or showing some sort of printed ticket. All this and then some...... You are driving is another key point. Am I really expected to be on my phone doing all this while stopping, driving, stopping, driving forward a few feet? Is it even legal? Card, cash, or app for parking seems way better. Time is of the essence in a parking lot line. We’ve all been there. Do what is easiest and quickest for you.
  22. Disagree..... although getting change for a twenty seemed to take a crazy amount of time for some of the parking attendants. You have a valid point. To answer my own question here.... Brewers website says that parking on day of game will be by credit card or app only... no cash. If paying by card in the parking lot on day of game, the rates are.... General- weekdays $15, weekends and Cubs-$20 Preferred- weekdays $25, weekends and Cubs- $30 If paying advanced thru app, the rates are.... Advanced General with fees...$14/$15 Advanced Preferred with fees....$19/$21 https://www.mlb.com/brewers/ballpark/information/guide
  23. Parking is still questionable to me.... will that be cashless too? If so, fine. Paying with a card seems like something they should have done 10 years ago. Yet, if people have to pay just thru the app, I don’t know. It seems problematic. Many will be looking to buy while in line or worse when driving to the stadium. Wouldn’t card be way more convenient for parking than forcing all to jump thru the same hoop? I mean, once you are in the parking lot, who cares.....you are in and don’t need much else. It’s like using a map of your house plan on your phone to see where your bathroom is so you can brush your teeth. It’s cool and all, but it’s not needed and lengthens the process. Can’t find info on the parking specifics... hopefully someone else has seen something.
