  1. Yelich could about be given away now to any team willing to pay his salary. Not that I think we should do this, but with CC leaving the bat signal calls for a rebuild and to prioritize funds to younger players. The fan base is open to all this now.
  2. The kid fan Craig Counsell would be booing the now smug Cubs manager Craig Counsell.
  3. What stood out to me was his answer to the media on how he still has these deep relationships with current and past players… how that will not change and how his other relationships in the “community” (maybe neighbors or friends or Whitefish Bay folk) will continue because they are not baseball first. So good and great….nobody cares about you hobnobbing now, though. That being said, he is showing no regard for the Brewers fan base, said nothing to them out the door. Ignored or flippantly forgot, whatever. Well, other than that he is looking for a new challenge of beating the Brewers in the NL Central, he could care less about the Brewer fan. And yes, he should. If anyone ever should, it should be him. But not now. Not anymore. And he can do what he wants and be Richie Cunningham out the door, but the bridge is burnt on a shallow sports level. Pretty naive or unbelievably cold blooded on his part, and maybe both.
  4. The most surprising thing is him being naive about staying in WI. I mean he can by right, but it will never be the same. He doesn’t see himself as the bad guy even though he has done the bad guy things. And he can’t talk his way out of it, which will be new to him.
  5. Everyone knew it was to spite Ted Thompson first…. Favre still had no leg to stand on (since he walked away and retired first), but people could understand why Favre wanted to beat Green Bay.
  6. No room for harassment, agreed. But the Wall of Honor plaque needs to be gone.
  7. Go be a Cub fan then… Attanasio obviously wanted him back and would have paid him more than any manager in the history of baseball. Go be a Cub if you are blaming Attanasio AT ALL for this.
  8. To me, it’s one team.
  9. No, not clearly cultivated… opposite of clearly. Go with Craig for a while until this team is worthy of your allegiance. Please. None on Attanasio. All on Craig. He’s a Cub and you blame Attanasio? He chose to go dark side.
  10. Co-worker approached me like a close family member died today… and dropped Counsell bomb. Shocked. Arrogant prick. Wear that Cubs hat proud and burn that bridge.
  11. Used to do it at the stadium in March…remember the one in 2008 where Attanasio declared, “90 wins and 3 million fans”…and he was right.
  12. I hope you are right, but I think he is gone. Right now, he is still a feel good story. And overall, he is still thought of very favorably around the state. Yet, he knows 1-9 in playoff series is not good and he is close to being turned on by all if playoff clunkers continue. He also knows it is going to be much tougher even getting to playoffs over next couple years with Brewers and worse SP. Leaving now allows him to go elsewhere for big bucks METS, get whatever resources and FA he wants, and chase WS yearly. Then, he STILL would be welcomed back to manage Milwaukee years later.
  13. Cheering on Big10 teams? Nah… maybe a few, but Ohio State? Izzy? Come now…The last thing WI needs is for a rival to look good or better than the Badgers on the recruiting trail.
  14. Brewers likely wouldn’t let CC interview elsewhere until after Oct. 31, right?
  15. If you believe 35 footers are good use of a shot in basketball, other than end of shot clock scenario, then I don’t have much to add. Rarely do I see a need to chuck it, regardless of star shooter status….sure looks cool when it goes in, though. Oh and I expect him to improve defensively… or at least they scheme a way to where he is not a glaring undersized weakness. Guard a spot shooter, make him double down, or pick/rolls they double Dame’s man. Something.
  16. Yes. Create more for others. Yes. He has a loaded team, unlike forever for him.
  17. Boy, lots of reaction to not having Dame chuck 35 footers and pass the ball a little more. I’d better not suggest that he clean up his perimeter defensive footwork.
  18. Then "cut" the Brewers from Wisconsin..... it's the cost for professional sports. If that is what you are saying, then fine. If not, you are living in a different reality. Cities and counties and states need to support the team or they are headed to a different place where there will be support. I respect your opinion and agree with it. I just would hate losing the Brewers to Nashville
  19. On Bad team, scoring 30 is not equal to scoring 30 On Good team. He was forced to score and often threw up bad shots because it was the best option at end of shot clock. He was the offense in Portland. Dame better get used to being a facilitator to a better player and a better shooter on his own team. That would be good offense. Chucking extra long 3’s on the break? Say goodbye to that part of your game and get your unselfish on to avg 10 assists a game. Let the game come to you. Hit the open three in flow of game and take control at end of shot clock.
  20. Not a fan of Dame's game....the Bucks offense had a certain flow to it. When Dame gets the ball, it's pause...step fake....pause.....fade away contested shot. I can see just from preseason that this is going to rub some the wrong way. It ticked me off immediately and I'm not playing. If it's end of shot clock, ok....but we don't need him scoring 30. He needs to score 20, DEFEND, and work on his passing skills.....even if, for horror, it doesn't result in an assist.
  21. Who are they in the running for yet?
  22. As of today, I would rank these WI based programs, in terms of current success (not historical, just presently) in the following order… Bucks (top 5 team in NBA) Brewers (92 game winner NL Central Champ) Badger Basketball (Veteran returning group… talented freshmen and toolsy transfers… NCAAtourney team) Badger Football (Pretty typical… over .500 record and weaker bowl game) Packers (.500 hopeful in rebuilding phase) However, in two years, I think this order is blown up a bit. I actually go this route.. Packers (Jordan Love’s third starting year…young nucleus. Super Bowl hopes) Badger Football (the coach is real and the recruits, now juniors and seniors in high school are real…real players in the new Big Ten). Brewers (The youngsters continue to blossom and new stars Continue to put us in playoff contention… Wild Card winner that advance far in playoffs). Badger Basketball (top 5 Big Ten team) Bucks (Giannis bolts and rebuild is on) You?
  23. Those are guaranteed $ you are speaking of… and a blown throwing shoulder. And a multi year plan? And saying casually it’s just 10 mil? Just pass on all of it. A cheaper deal built on Incentive laden language… sure. I have no allegiance to Woodruff. Great Brewer, sure. He would jump at the highest dollar and get out of here if he were to be a healthy FA. And like others speculate, the idea of long term Brewer probably floated past him a couple years ago to no avail.
  24. And then asked to stomach 2023 Winker..,, and in playoffs. Too much.
