  1. Better to just say he has K issues and defensive issues. Hi bat looks way better, even his avg MLB self, than half of the guys on this team.
  2. He has been jerked around so much by the Brewers I feel sorry for him.
  3. So twisted… making Hiura out to be this awful MLB hitter (can we trust him?) is just nuts, especially when his OPS was better than Adames, our #2 hitter in 2022. Bring him up, have him hit 8th at DH. Instant upgrade to the lineup.
  4. Why meaningless? It’s a simple comparison reminding us the season is young. Also, we have been well into NFL Game 3 this week if you are going 162 MLB games divided by 17 NFL games = 9.5 MLB games per 1 NFL game. Right now Game 3 is almost over. Our next game we’ll get to the start of Game 4. We are basically 2-1 in the NFL season.
  5. I check on Biloxi almost daily to check on Chourio and Black. I’m so encouraged with Black’s numbers and really surprised to see him at 3B. Does anyone know anything about the Brewers intentions with him? Is he trying out 3B or did 2B not work for some reason?
  6. Just a little worse than Bonds…ha. I’ll take a 50% K rate if he can hit 40 HRs.
  7. Only 7 home runs so far… couple weeks in.
  8. And Gene Match’s entire conversation… every word. Said Vuch had nothing and knew he had nothing…and still did well.
  9. a few things… Don Sutton’s interview and gratitude…wow. Charlie Moore thanking Harry Dalton for being hardheaded and not listening to his demand for a trade. Yount and Molitor interviewed by Uecker… Ladd’s awe of the moment. never seen this postgame footage before!!! So great!
  10. Well, Woodruff will not be traded this year… my guess this keeps him with us next year too.
  11. Never saw this post game coverage! So good… the last half hour of this is must see if you grew up with this team.
  12. Even better here… https://deadline.com/2023/04/1982-milwaukee-brewers-docuseries-produced-former-cbs-president-kelly-kahl-cannonball-prods-1235321841/
  13. I saw this was in the works….just a great sports story. https://www.yahoo.com/news/documentary-series-1982-milwaukee-brewers-171616112.html
  14. Low attendance is going to be a pattern, no doubt, everywhere. Opening Day at AmFam has never seen so many empties, Terrace level, especially.
  15. When seats were one steady price, opening day was sought after. It was a big game and the price was right. Now! Not so much. Crazy prices has hurt the tradition. They don’t care, though. Well, they care because it is money to them,
  16. Just want the full story to be said. He was not terrible last year, as much as others want that to be the narrative. He hit well last year for being jerked around constantly. He coulda shoulda batted consistently at DH lower in the lineup. Our DH options were not good. Again, it is also a game of who is going to hit better or give better numbers than him. There were not great choices some games and no, Cutch was not the solution, although CC stuck with him to the bitter end. This year, there seems to be better DH options. I was not disappointed that Hiura didn’t make the team, yet I was relieved he is still in the organization, for what it’s worth.
  17. And hit .886 OPS against righties in the majors in 2022. Give him Adames number at bats and he hits 30 HRs.
  18. Ironically, we would trade Yelich and his contract back for all those same washed up prospects now.
  19. Favre could have run for governor and won had he simply kept retired. He was that loved by the state of Wisconsin at that moment. Not voting for him would have been treason. He basically blew that all up to play again, especially in Minnesota a year later. He has had other stuff happen off field after that…. Stuff the average Packer fan no longer wanted to cover up. He didn’t matter anymore to most. He was the enemy and the Vikings were winning and kept winning that first year. Favre graciously was welcomed back to be a Packer a few years ago when he went into the Hall and the Packers Ring of Honor, but let’s not let that fool us. This is the truth and then some… if he didn’t throw that crazy pick in the 2009 NFC Championship game and Petersen didn’t have the crazy fumbles that game, they move on to the Super Bowl, where they would probably be favored to win. And if he wins there, in purple, his future glory days in GB would cease to exist. No cheers, just boos. Benedict Arnold and sadly years of being everything we loved about him would be erased. Throwing that pick and losing saved a remnant of his legacy in Green Bay, even though on a national stage he would be thought of more highly…. ESPECIALLY in Minnesota ( which would be with us every stinking time we played the Vikings), So no way is Favre as loved now, maybe a tenth of the love is still there for him. Maybe. Nonetheless, it’s still more than Rodgers, who was better for longer.
  20. I think bringing kids to the first deck, RF corner play zone is something somewhat of a must, especially if we are talking a typical mid season game. It’s free and it’s for kids of all ages…. Baseball themed with hitt8ng, throwing, and running games. Walking completely around the stadium or to the very top seem to go over well with the kids too….both take 10 minutes or so.. I like the Selig Experience… like to do that once a year. Taking in a batting practice is nice to do yearly, as well. Not nearly the homer ball opportunities as in the early 2000s at Miller Park or at most other stadiums, but still fun.
  21. So far…. And I assume there will be a few mainly minor moves yet in the bullpen especially, I would give the offseason a B-. A B- is a fairly unassuming, blah grade. It’s better than average by a bit, but it is not something to get overly excited about. However, Contreras is a reason to get excited about the catching position. Yet, he alone does not an offseason make. We arguably got rid of 2 of our best hitters last year with Renfroe and Wong. We are relying on rookies playing a big role in 2023 and trusting them to hit. Our bullpen was awful after adios Hader, and nothing has shown me it is any better. if ever there was a time in Brewers history to go get another big bat and shore up the pen somehow, it would be this year. The rebuild or whatever it is starts in 2024. Burnes, the best pitcher the team has ever had, and maybe even Woodruff will likely not be around. And this bit of sad truth alone is reason to feel blah about what hasn’t happened this offseason.
  22. I enjoy those Loge areas, as well. Prices were jacked up for this coming year, it looks like. Those press box Infield Loge sections are now called the Loge Infield Platinum. Instead of $44 to $48 on average, it looks like $55-$60 per seat. Usher Bill is the best.
  23. Pregame- Arbys in the suburbs During- Free pop and brought in candy bars After- McDonalds cone
  24. You are getting droves of people from outside the city…. they do not want the hassles of downtown. And you need droves of people in baseball for 81 home games. And if you thought parking was bad for the Bucks at times with long walks to the car, double that with a baseball team in the heart of the city. And you may be right that this part of the city isn’t THAT bad with crime. However, the other bad parts of Milwaukee have ruined that dialogue. People from a half hour plus away still come regularly to AmFam in droves because it is not city driving, traffic is usually good, and parking is plentiful.
