  1. Well, Woodruff will not be traded this year… my guess this keeps him with us next year too.
  2. Never saw this post game coverage! So good… the last half hour of this is must see if you grew up with this team.
  3. Special is pretty strong. I’ll go an above average defender at the MLB level. Is he better than Wong defensively? Maybe. Overall, he needs to hit or special becomes just a late inn8ng replacement.
  4. Even better here… https://deadline.com/2023/04/1982-milwaukee-brewers-docuseries-produced-former-cbs-president-kelly-kahl-cannonball-prods-1235321841/
  5. I saw this was in the works….just a great sports story. https://www.yahoo.com/news/documentary-series-1982-milwaukee-brewers-171616112.html
  6. When a team says they have a good problem in NFL training camp in having three good, capable QBs…. They may have 3, but they likely don’t have one.
  7. I think his place in the order should still be at the top because I do not see obvious candidates that can get on base more than him. That’s maybe shaky ground with all these youngsters hitting well, but it is better for them hitting without the added pressure the top spots bring.
  8. I think we are well off topic for this thread, correct? I think the game was over a while ago.
  9. The top pitching prospect in baseball, whoever that may be….great young pitching has to be in our pipeline as a small market.
  10. Still true…we would gladly give him back to get out of the contract.
  11. Ironically, for as lopsided we say the Yelich trade was, we would gladly trade him and his contract back for the same guys traded away. Like many said, for all (Mitchell, Wiemer, Frelick, Churio) our young OF to pan out and be quality major league talent, it’s pretty unlikely. Even if that 2% likelihood happens and they are all relatively avg or above avg, we still could use them all in a rotation of 4 or 5 with a DH present for all games and the usual rest and injuries that plague all teams.
  12. At least he is staying cool with undoing that shirt button…
  13. Low attendance is going to be a pattern, no doubt, everywhere. Opening Day at AmFam has never seen so many empties, Terrace level, especially.
  14. http://www.cmonbackclub.com
  15. When seats were one steady price, opening day was sought after. It was a big game and the price was right. Now! Not so much. Crazy prices has hurt the tradition. They don’t care, though. Well, they care because it is money to them,
  16. Just want the full story to be said. He was not terrible last year, as much as others want that to be the narrative. He hit well last year for being jerked around constantly. He coulda shoulda batted consistently at DH lower in the lineup. Our DH options were not good. Again, it is also a game of who is going to hit better or give better numbers than him. There were not great choices some games and no, Cutch was not the solution, although CC stuck with him to the bitter end. This year, there seems to be better DH options. I was not disappointed that Hiura didn’t make the team, yet I was relieved he is still in the organization, for what it’s worth.
  17. And hit .886 OPS against righties in the majors in 2022. Give him Adames number at bats and he hits 30 HRs.
  18. Or Literally any time…. We could be in first place with a 10 game lead.
  19. Ironically, we would trade Yelich and his contract back for all those same washed up prospects now.
  20. Favre could have run for governor and won had he simply kept retired. He was that loved by the state of Wisconsin at that moment. Not voting for him would have been treason. He basically blew that all up to play again, especially in Minnesota a year later. He has had other stuff happen off field after that…. Stuff the average Packer fan no longer wanted to cover up. He didn’t matter anymore to most. He was the enemy and the Vikings were winning and kept winning that first year. Favre graciously was welcomed back to be a Packer a few years ago when he went into the Hall and the Packers Ring of Honor, but let’s not let that fool us. This is the truth and then some… if he didn’t throw that crazy pick in the 2009 NFC Championship game and Petersen didn’t have the crazy fumbles that game, they move on to the Super Bowl, where they would probably be favored to win. And if he wins there, in purple, his future glory days in GB would cease to exist. No cheers, just boos. Benedict Arnold and sadly years of being everything we loved about him would be erased. Throwing that pick and losing saved a remnant of his legacy in Green Bay, even though on a national stage he would be thought of more highly…. ESPECIALLY in Minnesota ( which would be with us every stinking time we played the Vikings), So no way is Favre as loved now, maybe a tenth of the love is still there for him. Maybe. Nonetheless, it’s still more than Rodgers, who was better for longer.
  21. The tournament does not need the Big Ten’s 9th and 10th best teams.
  22. And yes, no Iowa State as of right now…8-9
  23. I agree… too much generosity. We’re talking about a team simply playing .500 in conference. Pretty low bar. It would help weed out teams for the tournament committee too.
  24. I think there should be a rule that teams below .500 in conference play cannot get in the tournament. Strength of schedule and non conference games played in November and December, whatever… the Big Ten was supposed to be extra good the last two years and the last two NCAA tournaments showed that not to be true. I’d much rather have the top two or three teams of a good mid major conference than the 9th or 10th best team in the Big Ten. Put teams in that actually are having a good season, and that is not the Badgers. The Badgers are sitting at 8-11 now in conference play. I don’t see that as good enough to be a tournament team.
  25. Maybe CC is trying to leverage his own weight by, in essence, threatening to leave if some good players (Woodruff, Adames?) are not kept or extended. If we pull another Hader-type midseason trade... like trading Burnes at the deadline for a #4 pitcher and prospects, I think he's saying I don't want to be a part of this. I'm tending to believe more of this line of thinking. It's probably why Stearns left too.
