  1. Analytics has already done that. In the world of COVID and cancellations, we better just celebrate stuff when it actually happens.
  2. I'm seeing Wainwright for today with Happ on Sunday. So the Cards get to deal with Peralta, Woody Houser and Burnes. I honestly don't really fear facing any pitcher the Cardinals have. I feel like our fifth best is better than their best You have no fear or respect for Wainright then, who is a top 5 CY Young pick this season. Awful take.
  3. 2021 has been way different in how CC has used the rotation and bullpen. Who knows how this will all go down, but I highly doubt that Woodruff or Burnes are just going 3 or 4 innings like in 2018. They are horses. If pitching well, they are much more likely of throwing 110 pitches than 3 or 4 innings.
  4. not at all. NL central. 14 gm lead. It’s still very possible.. very sniffable.
  5. Houser is the only guy I wouldn't mind being traded. Well, if arby rules change so that no 29/30 year old has arby, then Woody would have one year left in 2022. He would then be a prime candidate to be traded.
  6. Glad he is around longer. He’s well above avg and has a good back and forth with Rock. I don’t like that he routinely complains about the length of games he’s calling, especially when his attendance to Brewers games is like a slack high school student.
  7. Let’s just see how Peralta does in his next, what, four outings. Same for the rest of the lineup, rotation, and bullpen. No need to make absolute statements a month out, especially for this team with daily injuries and surprisingly great play for long stretches from role players.
  8. It's his second start, right... ?! Exactly. From injury, right? If playoffs start next week, he pitches Game 3. NLDS Game 3 is over a month away. No need to “lock” him in now. Let’s see how he pitches in September first.
  9. I don’t think Peralta is a lock either considering how he has pitched coming back from injury; that has to at least be a concern; even more, the way Houser and Lauer have pitched puts Freddy’s Game 3 in doubt, especially being four weeks out.
  10. BA complaining about length of games again….. he’s hardly here. If anyone needs to enjoy the entirety of game, it’s the TV guy.
  11. September weather
  12. I felt there was not enough to overturn pickoff at 1B, sadly. No idea if hand was hit or not. Escobar hit the ball with his glove, and Bader was easily safe at 2B.
  13. For me in a five game series, Woodruff and Burnes would pitch twice. Whoever pitches Game 1 would be the only one to pitch on 3 days rest for Game 4. Also, if we win the division, we have another FOUR days before the NLDS Game 1 even begins so there is a bunch of extra rest there too. Whoever pitches Game 2 would get four days before Game 5, or for most staffs, regular rest. A major part of all this rest is that we are giving pitchers extra days so they are fresh come playoff time. The playoffs are not a time to be thinking about extra rest for starters here or there a day. They had it. Now it is time to play, and play our best the most often.
  14. The amount of injuries….. two guys getting hurt a game should never seem normal, but it does in 2021.
  15. If he keeps getting gifted AS appearances, no doubt. He’s at 10…. the same as Molitor and Yount combined. Yount’s last All-Star appearance, only 3 by the way, was 82, not even making it in 89 when he was the MVP. https://shepherdexpress.com/sports/brew-crew-confidential/robin-yount-only-made-three-all-star-teams-what-gives/
