    Gustave over Suter is a total shocker. Gustave is the ultimate king garbage time guy and Suter pitched in several close, really tight games. I guess the big right handed bats did him in. Has to be really disappointing for him.

    We are plenty deep with our starters in the pen AND off days galore.

    I’m all for pitching our best pitchers and winning/losing with them. Loved that Peralta and Houser were up or pitching late innings instead of Boxberger (who had a very good season). Our five starters should be pitching 90 plus percent of the innings. They have been our best pitchers. I also would like to see Burnes in Game 4 regardless if up 2-1 or down 1-2. If we sweep, he pitches Game 1.

    Kind of an odd take by Anderson… not sure it is a slam dunk that he is not on the roster in the bullpen. The loss of Williams gives him an even better shot.

    Good points…. I like your Lauer/Peralta idea. I like the Game 5 idea too. However, I can’t get excited about our 4th best option SP on the road in a potential exit game when Burnes could pitch on short rest. In my mind, he has been sat/rested all year SO THAT he could pitch on short rest in the playoffs. Oh, and Hader/Williams can throw a few more pitches too in the 7th/8th.

    It all boils down to pitching both Woody and Burnes two games. One would have to go on three days rest, and I am all for that, even if it means a shorter outing. GAME 1 Friday- Burnes Game 2 Sat.- Woody Off Game 3 Monday- Peralta/Lauer Game 4 Tuesday- Burnes Off Game 5 Thurs- Woody
