  1. The 6 man rotation will take care of the inning load somewhat. I’m fine with burly, 28 yr old Woodruff throwing 200 plus innings….. not really ok with anyone else getting close. With 2020 limiting innings and a relatively young rotation, the six man rotation could be equally about better production now and limiting innings later in 2021 for a young staff. Another back end starter at the decline might allow Houser/Leuer to pitch better matchups in innings 4-6.
  2. I’ll go with…. Fri. Burnes Sat. Leuer/Houser Sun. Woodruff Tues. Peralta Wed. Anderson/Houser Fri. Burnes Sat. Leuer/Houser Sun. Woodruff I never liked the idea of the big three throwing together only to be followed by the not big three. With all the off days in July, I think the six man rotation will be somewhat limited and guys can be skipped a time in the rotation or be piggy backed. Pitching two of them to the Reds sounds good. Also, Freddy and Houser have pitched 98 and 86 innings, respectively. Brewers brass might be looking for ways to limit innings, especially Peralta at age 25. Actually, that might be an issue for the entire staff. Woodruff (113) and Burnes (87) might be flirting with an innings ceiling at season’s end too.
  3. 82% odds to make playoff at the break…..
  4. This isn't true. Yelich is still one of our better offensive performers with his 113OPS+. He's playing at a lower level than expected, but he's been an above average player without a doubt. It just seems like Yelich isn’t very productive because 6 of the regulars in the Reds lineup have a higher OPS than he does. It’s pretty depressing being at the games and seeing the stats on the scoreboard showing that succession of .800 and .900 OPS hitters coming to the plate. And five with with double digit HRs.
  5. Taylor has a .748 OPS and 102 OPS+…. He definitely hits lefties better (.844 OPS and 128 OPS+), but .689 OPS and 94 OPS+ against righties when getting sporadic usage isn’t awful. I’m all for playing him more regularly in center. Bradley still can be substituted in these games late when Brewers have lead.
  6. Mitchell #1 Turang #2 tonight,…
  7. Brewers have been outplayed each game of this series really…. A win tomorrow is great for morale, especially with three more in Cincy.
  8. Some games do have a lot of close call… this one especially. Bad calls are all magnified when the score is close and tempers are high.
  9. Yeah, Taylor needs to play. Bradley can field but he is not saving us tons of runs. Most games are filled with routine plays and ground outs to 2B.
  10. This is a dumb take. Ok let him pitch mop up games. He should never be involved in high leverage innings. He is one of our best relief pitchers….. ERA at 3 with 3 saves.
  11. For Burnes or Woodruff, you should be able to fill several spots with pretty good talent. Not now, though. We all want to add on this year to give us a pretty good shot for playoffs and more. I could see us doing this this offseason. It would be a very Tampa thing to do to restock for more young pitching, fill a hole in the lineup, and to manage all the arby increases next year.
  12. Hope all went well… interested in what they said.
  13. I have to agree with this. Rick, you’ve creating a conspiracy out of literally nothing other than your own assumptions. Unless there’s something that actually suggests there’s something to this, I’d suggest moving on at this point. Will move on….
  14. My experiences have been different each time depending on which gate I went to and whom was in charge. Some were extremely liberal in allowing items in…, guy in front of me taking a large bag in with them just checking it like days of old. Once I had to take everything out of a plastic bag, but then I could keep said bag and use it in the stadium, putting items back in right after entry. My opinion is that many fans still do not know the rules. Those going three times in April/June/July have had different stadium rules each time, and then each of those times rules were really not hard set.
  15. Trolling who? I assume that a Fan forum = Fan’s feelings on several different topics, correct? If something is incorrect or false, let me know… glad to apologize.
  16. Went 0-4 tonight with 2 K’s….. hitting .091 Batting 3rd
  17. But what I'm seeing is a higher amount of PAs and runs scored vs RH Starters than I do on overall RHP. Meanwhile the LH Starters stats are less the vs LHP overall which makes sense vs LH RP. So not fully right. Seems lefties have caused them more issues over the last month, though.
  18. So, if Hader chooses not to pitch in 8th or whatever, that would not be ok? It is pure speculation, but it isn’t baseless. I could be wrong, yet no solid evidence suggests that I am. What really causes me to feel something might be off a bit… Well, several games where he could have gone to Hader in the 8th and 10th. Willingness to go to Milner (warming up) in 8th instead of Hader on June 3. Hader’s past attitude with usage and contract… Having Hader pitch in two games possibly for saves on June 7. Comments made in articles where Hader knows exactly how he is going to be used…. in a CC bullpen, of all things p. Excelled going multi innings (2018/2019 NL Reliever of the Year) The season is still middling thru and limiting his usage for the long haul could be the overall strategy. We’ll see how the end of season looks. A straight up question about this to Hader or CC would be great, though.
  19. It’s all about control and if CC has that control with Hader. Can CC bring him in the 8th of a tied game to face the heart of the order? Can CC choose to not pitch him a tied 9th and bring him on in a tied 10th? Again, The BIG thing is that any manager should have TOTAL CONTROL of his bullpen and it’s usage within reason… meaning starters not pitching three games straight, relievers not pitching several innings for several games straight, etc. So if CC for some reason based on different metrics wants to bring Hader or a Milner in the 7th or 9th, he should have that control. Throw an extra batter in the 8th? Sure. I feel that is, at the very least, in question now more than ever since CC was putting Hader in the 9th of the second game on Wednesday before the Brewers scored add on runs. He blew a save, sat a few hours, and then got up to throw again for another save in Game 2. If Hader is able and willing to do this for his money saves, he should be able and willing to throw an extra out in the 8th too on a normal night. I have a sense this is not the case anymore. We will see. CC has control of the bullpen. You make it sound like if CC asked Hader to get the last out in the 8th inning today, Hader would pitch a fit or his agent would call David Stearns in a fury immediately. I'd bet pretty heavily that that just isn't the case. It's about protecting your best arms to be able to withstand the grind of a long season, and about getting as many outings as you can out of Hader to affect more games. Beyond that, there isn't anything wrong with listening when a player tells you how he feels most comfortably being used. Usually what is best for your star players is also best for your team. It is no different than a star position player mentioning where he feels most comfortable batting in the lineup. It just isn't this huge deal that you're making it out to be. You also seem to be forgetting that when Hader first came into the league, the debate wasn't closer or multi inning reliever, it was starter or reliever. Wouldn't you think that if this really didn't have anything to do with how Hader was most comfortable, if it were 100% money based, that Hader and his agent would have lobbied strongly to get him out of the pen and into the rotation? Let’s get some common ground..,, Agree that CC should listen to Hader and try to make his bullpen anchor feel comfy, confident, and supported. I hope you are willing to admit that IF, IF, IF Hader cannot be brought in games for multi innings or in certain situations that have already been predetermined by team Hader and CC, that might not be a good thing.
  20. It’s all about control and if CC has that control with Hader. Can CC bring him in the 8th of a tied game to face the heart of the order? 21. I think the MLB rules state that each division winner will be a part of the playoffs come October and thus games played against them carry more weight than non division foes.
